I felt first movements at about 17weeks. To me it felt like a big fart moving in my gut :8o: (but when nothing came out and it happend over and over again, I realised what it was!). Sometimes I felt it more often than at other times - I guess it depends how the baby is lying.

Some days baby will be more active than others. I think when they have a growth spirt they tend to tire lol and chill for a day or two. But yeah movements becomes more regular from about 24-28 onwards.

It's a lovely feeling... oh apart from when they kick you in the ribs :snigger:

I have heard that you wont feel regular kicks until 22-24 weeks, and even then you may get a day or two with nothing going on. Just bubs being lazy! LOL.

Not sure when we have to start counting movements etc, but I think we have quite a way to go yet.

I used to get all the bubbles very actively from about 18wks I think but not regular until later on.

Even now, baby has more activve days than some-lazy bugger

I saw the midwife a couple of weeks ago because after being really active I hardly felt anything for a few days. After a bit of panicking the midwife told me to see her and she had a listen in and heard a couple of movements while listening. The midwife said she had probably turned round and was kicking inside me.

I find that I have a couple of days where I have huge movements and lots of them and then a quiet day.

We were watching my stomach squirming around last night. Very strange. :D

i have got myself all worried this morning as i have not felt anything today and i had a sore tummy yesterday so i phoned my midwife and they are going to fit me in at half 12 so i can have a listen to the babys heartbeat to put my mind at rest, she said not to worry as its normal at 20 weeks for it not to move all the time but she said if i am worried that she will let me have a listen so i said yes please. I know i am just being silly but i have got that little worry in my head and now i cant shift it so i think the best thing is to have a listen then i will stop worrying

Hi Olo - I'm glad that your Midwife is fitting you in, but I'm sure that all will be fine.

I seem to get some active days and some not - It also depends how busy I am - If I am up and doing lots of things then all is quiet. I seem to have a fairlt regular time between 6 and 7 in the evening when I am usually sitting still for a bit and feel the kick, but not every day.

Let us know what the Midwife hears.

Bubbles in pelvis?

I am 21+5 with twins and for a few days have been getting bubble type feelings quite low down in the pelvis, sort of where the pubic bone starts?

Anyone else getting this, or had this?

Erm, could it be the bubs moving? Have you felt any movements yet? As they are still so small, their movements feel alot less definate in the first weeks as they are cushioned by muscle and the sac

Yeah, its the same sort of bubbling feeling that I get on the left hand side, and I can certainly feel that baby moving. Kicked very strongly last night!

Must be right baby has moved low down, or is just in the position that he/she is kicking towards the pelvis?

Does that sound right?

How soon did you feel baby move?? / How often baby kicks etc..

Hi Girls, am getting impatient now to feel baby moving, so thought would ask who is at what stage and if/what can you feel. x

Hey sweetie, please don't start worrying, even with Lauren I was roughly 20 weeks before I was certain that the faint wriggling/ bubbles in my tummy weren't digestion/wind!! When you are quiet do you ever feel little twitches in the pit of your tum? THAT is more than likely your bubs

As for exterior movements it can be anything upto 24 weeks, it all depends on your muscle tone, how close and strong your bubs is, whether you have a placenta blocking the feeling. With Lauren I had anterior (between the tummy wall and bubs) placenta, so I never really felt many exterior movements until about 27 weeks

You wait until he's dancing on your bladder and sticking his head/ bum under your ribcage! Its wonderful!! :innocent: :P

Hey PAris, with your first baby it can be anything from 16 to 23 weeks to feel movements. The thing is, it feels like wind anyway! So you may be feeling it and not realising!

Yep, agree with Mrs Smiff, sounds like you are already feeling him! :D

In the UK they date from LMP, I just did a due date calculator and using a 28 day cycle it makes you 17 weeks to the day due on 4th November. Scans use the measurement of the fetus crown to rump. To be honest I've always relied on my LMP date to tell the date as the size of the baby obviously varies from person to person and if you have a pretty regular cycle chances are you will go to that date

Last 2 times was on day 1 of week 18 when I felt first obvious kick, ...or full body slam or whatever it was! I didn't feel it regularly though until a couple of weeks later....I happened to be lying flat on my back when I felt it the 1st time and spent a lot of time lying there just waiting to feel it again!
I had the wooshy feelings you are describing a couple of weeks earlier, before the "kick" both times, but didn't know for sure that it had been the baby 1st time but recognised it 2nd time around. It most likely is indeed your little one you are feeling there!

I remember being worried about it, theres probably a thread on here. I rang the midwife and she reasurred me that it was quite normal. A friend of mine never felt much movement at all with both her boys and they are fine.

P I have only really just started feeling the baby and am convinced its the baby as its happening too often to just be wind , its like the bubbles feeling and twitching but i can feel it all the time and its more noticable but its not like proper kicks or anything , so defintly sounds like your feeling your LO... I notice it more when sat down or laying down but feel nothing if im busy its only when i relax i can really feel it... Mine started on holiday and then i didnt feel it for a bit as soon as i got home it started up again...

I think it depends on the person but i would deifntly say that what you are feeling sounds totally normal...

Hey,

I felt something last night, and again this evening, that feels a heck of a lot like how I remember those first flutters....seems a bit too early, surely, but it really feels like baby flutters and not wind!!! I guess, I felt baby#2 at 15/16 weeks and I'm half way through week 14 now so maybe I'm not imagining things!

Wonderful Philippa....now I will be looking out for it again this evening.....it was the same time of night I tended to feel movements with the boys...just about an hour or so after eating my chocolate ( I have a little as a treat every evening!).

Wow Paris that's great, what a wonderful feeling! And to see them on the outside too is really early, I saw my little one for the first time this weekend but with DD I am sure it was much later.

Mayo I felt movements around 14 wks and am sure it was the baby too. For me though they then went quite for weeks and weeks and weeks!
