Possible Induction ???

Just been into hospital this morning for yet another (and fingers crossed the last!) clinic appointment. We had just barely sat down when the doctor came in and said I'm to go back on 2nd January to be induced unless baby decides to arrive before then.

That's just a day shy of 40 weeks for me, and they've decided to do it because of all the unexplained bleeding I've had since week 14 onwards. They did say they couldn't fit me in between Christmas and New Year as they were really busy (and don't do so much planned stuff obviuosly as they have less staff on). As its not an urgent problem, so to speak, then the extra days shouldn't make too much of a difference.

So now it all feels very strange! That's only 10 days or so away, but I'm still betting that this one may well arrive on Chrsitmas Day as its been an awkward little so and so to date!

The midwife reckoned raspberry tea, spicy food and pineapple didn't make a difference, but I think I'll keep them up just in case. Oh and she described having the pessaries for induction as being like "having semtex in your womb" - Nice eh? Luckily it doesn't faze me at all! :D

The countdown has now begun - its really weird having an end date now!!!

Cheers

Blimey! In ten days you'll be a Mummy 8o :)) :))

It's great timing with Christmas and new year out of the way, a new year, a new baby and a whole new way of life.

Now we could just do with you going into labour yourself.... just after midnight on new year would be good :D. Make sure that you're really surprised when all the fireworks go off outside. ;)

Thanks everyone!

Well I was wrong and the prawn has not decided to make its appearance on Christmas Day after all! It must be the first time its taken any notice of me!

I did get lots of twinges at about 11.45pm on Christmas Eve whilst in the bath, so I thought things might ne happening, but no! So back on the raspberry leaf tea for now!
