Is anyone starting downreging in the next week or 2?

Hi just checking to see if anyone is starting their cycle similar time to me. I start my down reg Monday and cause I’m away on holiday for a week I don’t start drinking till 11th July so super long protocol lol! Dreading being menopausal for a month!

I’m hoping it will calm down before that. I don’t remember any side affects the last 4 times but I think the first 2 were injection burslin and last 2 times spray burslin. This is a different drug same family

Hey Babydream,

Norethisterone is tablets for downregging - I'm on them rather than the nasal spray. Normally you only need to be on it for a week and then you have a bleed, but due to how busy RFC is and them being shut first week of July, I have to be on it for 21 days. Ideally I should have moved to injections (menopur and cetrotide) and had egg collection on 27th June, but they were fully booked that week so I gotta wait an extra two weeks :( Now my egg collection is timetable for around 11th July - what's your timetables like?

So far the only side effect I have is bloating - irritating, but not terrible yet! Also finding I'm quite tired, but that might be more related to hay fever symptoms - I've stopped taking my normal hay fever tablet as nurse said I wouldn't be allowed it once on injections so thought it best to get my body used to not having it! Of course it seems to be the worst year for hay fever!

How's everyone else doing?

So we went to see picture this last night. I had a bag with me so they searched it. They pointed at my spray and so matter of fact I said that’s my drugs. Realizing what I said after 3 security staff all stop and stared at me I went oh I mean my ivf drugs lol. Was very funny.

So one week down another 3 of down reg! Don’t seem to have any side affects apart from my boobs are sore!

Hi girls, well my period finally arrived today so now I just have to wait until day 21! Phoned the rfc this morn so hopefully have my schedule in next 7-10 days. I have calculated that day 21 is 11 July so I’ll be starts tabs then ..... at pre consultation appt nurse said I’d be on that for a week and then a week off ...... for a period...... so I’m getting excited now..... just want my schedule in black and white now! Ps this is quite funny but my period is really heavy this time too - been up since early hours with really bad pains..... maybe body saying..... get ready next few weeks gonna be a rough time!
Babydream - is your day 21 this Wednesday??
Odi - what’s your schedule now? xx

On tablets for 14 days and then start injections on 12th July, just wondering am I able to make up the injection medication that morning and then leave it out at room temperature to use that evening or am I best just making it up before I go to use it? I’m just overthinking everything and think I’ll have a clearer head that morning.
Thanks

Yeah as babydream says if it's menopur then it only needs to be kept in the fridge until it's made up. (I found that weird as the powder needs kept in the fridge but the liquid doesn't!) Then you keep it out of the fridge for 28 days. Not sure about other meds though. Check what it says in the info sheet.
The injections aren't as bad as you imagine, not thst they are pleasant but you do get used to them and the first one is the worst.
Good luck ladies! Fingers crossed for positive outcomes for you all x

Hey ladies, I am so happy to say I have finished my 23 days on Norethisterone and am now waiting for the witch to arrive before starting Menopur on Friday!

Hoping the injections will be OK - going to be on my own for first one and then flying to London that evening and having to take it all with me! Only over there for four days so nurse said it was fine.

The only side effect/problem I have had is a raging chest infection - real chest pain and lots of coughing and mucus. Not sure if meds are prolonging it or causing it, but trying to drinks lots, rest, take some cold meds and hoping it will shift before injections as don't want to be ill going into the next bit - anyone else had this? I'm debating whether to go to the GP on Monday and try to get 5 day course of antibiotics, but then worried this wasn't a good idea before injections either - it's all very confusing!

Hope everyone else is doing OK

Hey all - hope everyone is well. My bleed started on Sunday so all on track to start injections this Friday - eeeek!

Went to GP and have a bacterial chest infection so on a quick 5 day course of antibiotics with RFC's blessing as they are pregnancy safe! Hopefully get it shifted quick so I feel a bit better before the injections start.

I'm not sure if you any of you have been through a cycle before and know the answer to my question, but I'll try my luck - I'm flying on Friday night and will already have mixed the menopur vial for injections - I had a little look at it today and am worried that once I put the needle through the little grey lid of the menopur it will be able to leak out - the little white cap doesn't seem to go back on once you remove it. Am I being really stupid and liquid won't be able to get out the tiny needle hole? Would be gutted if I got off the flight and it had all leaked out!! I will prob take the second box with me just in case lol

It doesn't leak out. I thought that too when I couldn't get the lid back on but i took it out with me a couple of times in a wee holder thing the nurse gave me and it never leaked at all and it was in my handbag. It's designed to only come out if you use the needle c
