Well girls I called this morning for news on my eggs and we had to go in for 3day Transfer. They transferred two at grade 3/3 and 3/4 the other two are current 3/4 and a 2/2 the 2/2 is not expected to make to freeze but they are expecting the 3/4 one to progress. The embryologist told me that they are good quality and have done well but does anyone understand what 3/3 or 3/4 translates as?

Martha I remember looking this up when I had my transfer. The number of cells is separate. The 3/4 numbers are to do with how similar in size each of the cells are and the degree of fragmentation. For each of these two numbers 4 is the best.

Hi SI, hope your treatment is going well.
High levels of caffeine- like 5 or more cups a day has been shown to affect fertility- for all woman trying not just ivf. 1-2 cups of coffee a day had no effect. Tea has even less caffeine- so you shouldn’t worry. Best of luck for your treatment.

What time you in fifs?I am getting nervous now but can't wait to get it over with, Sl I really don't think a cup of tea a day would stop your IVF working I would try not to stress about things like that and if you fancy a cup of tea take it xx

I love reading this forum and seeing how everyone is progressing. I feel like I know you all personally lol. To me it felt like we were ages waiting on our letters and now some of you have got as far as ET. Hoping and praying that all our wishes come true. I have my bloods appointment tomorrow. Still feels surreal that it is all actually happening now x

Girls I don't think anything I did made a difference to be honest I haven't changed my diet and I still drink tea and the odd coffee if I want it so I don't think I am the best role model lol they just said I had a good response to the treatment but that is a high number of eggs and I could be at risk of ohss but they did day most people don't get it it's only a small few, I think il be grand! 17 eggs is fantastic I am over the moon but just hoping they're mature enough x

Omg 17 daisy do. That is fantastic!! I rang today and was told my letter might be sent this week. It all depends on how many the embryologist will send for because we are waiting on donor sperm. She said if they send for 3 people waiting on donor il get my letter because im the 3rd. Although she did say there was no guarantee because she didn't know how many the embryologist would send for. If you know what I mean lol I'm to ring at end of week to see. We're on list for icsi DS from 29th march 2017 for anyone else waiting!!

Daisydo, what a fantastic number of eggs!! Hope they all do well for you overnight and you get good news in the morning!! Its exciting and nerve wrecking at the same time!
Blossom, when I was with rfc I was given part choice... I was allowed 2 day 3 embryos transferred but only 1 day 5 blastocyst transferred due to the the higher risk of twins & age came into it also. At gcrm where I'm currently having treatment, I was advised that I met the criteria for a single blastocyst transfer but it was entirely up to me. I opted for the double transfer in hope of increased chances of success.
