Hi ladies i stopped crinone gel on my test day last friday so a week ago and i am still extremely bloated and uncomfortable. None of my clothes bearly fit and i look about 5 months pregnant so its getting very difficult around people considering im only 5 weeks and not ready to tell people at this stage. I just want to check with everyone that has taken it before is this normal? I think i ll give them a call tomorro to put my mind at rest.

Hi Lauren,
Congratulations on your Bfp.
The bloating is probably a combination of everything- from your ovaries being stimulated (when I had my scan they were still swollen), the crinone gel, and pregnancy hormones. Keep drinking plenty of fluids. At least you have Christmas to explain the bloat! And the cold weather to hide under baggy jumpers!

Hope your scan in a few weeks time goes well.

I’m sure it’s not OHSS but be aware of the symptoms of that. Congratulations on your bfp! X

Hey, I'm one week in since ET and I'm having awful bloatedness and constipation from the crinone gel. Does anyone have any advice of how to relieve these symptoms as they don't seem to be getting any better. I've been eating prunes as I was worried about taking anything medicinal but open to suggestions.

Thank you daisydo, I really appreciate that. it's been a really tough time, I can't lie. I got sent home from work last week as was an emotional wreck. Other than the side effects of the crinone, I haven't had any symptoms which panics me a little but then need to try not to second guess it all or I'll be crazy by test day.

So I woke up at 5am this morning with severe stabbing pain, so much worse than the daily constipation pain that I've been experiencing since EC. My husband panicked and rang the hospital so had an urgent appt today, luckily they don't think it's ohss and been given medication and told to drink even more than usual. Got to call back tomorrow for blood results. I know there's a lot of girls who are coming up to EC and ET and I can't stress more the importance of drinking water. I thought I drank a lot anyway but was told as a veggie, I need to drink even more (who knew...!)

I've been called back in tomorrow for further obs tests. However, I went to work this morning for a few hours and five ppl called in sick with sickness, flu bugs so there's a possibility I've caught something & my cramps, tight chest etc has nothing to do with the ivf.

I honestly felt like I was wasting their time. The consultant who called me back wasn't in so saw a different doctor who sat down and said so why are you here? I tried explaining that I was called back in for more tests and hadn't requested them but she just said no all of this is pain is normal so just wait until test day. Felt a bit embarrassed if I'm honest.

Luckily I live in Belfast so it wasn't far but it meant I stressed about my results all of yesterday, thinking there was a problem and had to explain again to work why I was late in. I'm thankful it's nothing serious obviously but still felt like a fool for no reason this morning.

Daisydo No EC for me Tuesday. Few extra days on injections. Another scan Tuesday and hopefully EC Thursday. About 12 follicles smallest 15 and largest 21. Lining is 13. Nothing to worry about but I still feel like poop over it.

Hi girls had my first scan today 15 follicles on total 8 on right 7 on left ovary . Measuring between 8-10 , lining is currently 8.4. No idea if this is good or not lol. Medication increased from 225 to 300 second scan on Friday so hoping all is ok .

I had EC Thursday and had to ring the clinic this morning with pain. I'm getting a sharp pain and a horrible abdominal feeling almost like trapped wind. Also slightly constipated. I'm otherwise OK so they think it's the Crinone Gel. Anyone else get that? I'm hoping that's all it is as I really want my transfer to go ahead should my wee embryos survive. On that note, did any of you lose any between fertilisation and day 3? I'm trying to prepare myself.

Anniebell,

The crinone gel isn’t the most pleasant stuff. I start it tomorrow.

It is hard not knowing what your embryos are doing- I would have loved a update everyday.
Everyone’s survival rate is different.
When I had my fresh icsi cycle- I had 8 eggs- 6 were suitable for icsi. 5 of which got to day 3.
By day 5 there were 4- 1 which was transferred and 3 frozen.
