New Girl - Endo and Fertility Treatment

Hi Everyone, I am obviously new to the site! My story is that I was diagnosed with Endometriosis in 2011 after a very long time of having pain etc and it has since progressed to the most severe stage (Stage 4). My partner and I have been trying to get pregnant for about 2 years, even before my last operation which was January 2016 with no luck whatsoever. I was fortunate that I already see an endometriosis specialist on a regular basis so he arranged for the initial sperm test for my partner in Dec 16 and it was all clear thank goodness - so it confirmed that the problem is definitely with me. We attempted to get my bloods done for day 3 and day 21 of my cycle at my GP but the nurse messed up and didn't test for the correct thing so that wasted about 6 months of time unfortunately. So basically my consultant said there wasn't anything else he could do and referred me to the RFC, I have my first appointment today and am very nervous as I don't know what to expect - I hope that because I already have a good idea of where the problem lies that it might speed up the process a bit but i'm not going to get too excited just yet.
Has anyone had any experiences with the RFC and who is an endo sufferer? If so I would love to hear your story.

Thanks All xx

Hi I'm in in similar position stage 4 endo last surgery was April 17 but my husband has low sperm as well so we are in a slightly different situation. We had one round of ivf privately (gcrm) which failed and we are now on the waiting list for NHS go . I had consultation last week with dr Williamson in rfc and was put on the waiting list on the same day so hopefully it's as straightforward for you. Good luck xx

Hi there, thanks for your reply! Had my first consultation appointment and Dr Tang confirmed that ivf was my only option at this point but did say that he can reach at least one of my ovaries so so far they are happy enough, just have to go back in October now to get some blood results and hopefully get on the list! Although I just heard about the proposal the government has put forward to stop offering ivf treatment on the NHS between October and March for new patients! Really worried about this will mean for me, I don't know what they mean by 'new' patients
