Iron supplements twin pregnancy

Hi all, wondering if any ladies with twins on the way can tell me about what iron supplements they were on. My blood tests came back fine but they said most ladies with twin pregnancies need the supplements at some point so to start on them now. I have a tablet which is 210mg to take 3 times a day and a 5mg folic acid,
The pharmacist who gave me the prescription thought it was very u usual and told me to check with the midwife. My friend who had twins also said she was on iron supplements and people questioned that too. So I'm not sure whether to start taking them or not

Hi Pip I was prescribed ferrous fumerare because my ferritin levels were slightly low, not by much though. I also take high dose folic acid and the pregnacare supplement. The doctor knew I was on the supplement but said it wouldn't do any harm to take both xx

Ttc 7 yrs
Immune issues.
3 iui BFN.

2 beautiful girls arrived 8/6/2015, 7 weeks early but perfect. Kayla Grace 4lb1 and Sophia Faith 4lb 3.

Yeah I take it 3 times too, yucky stuff but your stomach does get used to it eventually

Hi pip!!

All I took while pregnant with my twins was pregnacare! And when tested my iron levels were high they weren't as tough on the stomach as just taking the iron tablets of you find it difficult taking them x

Twins born 26-11-2014!! Girl 4lbs 3 boy 4lbs 7! Love them so so much!!

Thanks Julz, I'm now taking the pregnacare plus an extra folic acid. My midwife seems a bit scatty about it but that's what she has me doing now.
How r ur twins? How old r they now?

I've just been taking pregnacare, my iron levels had fallen at last blood test so they are rechecking them again next week to see if I need a suppliment. I was low on vitamin D before pregnancy so I take extra vit D and calcium and thyroxine and Aspirin! Tyring to space them out is a nightmare!
