Cant believe it would go wrong so quickly, and blood is not red! So i suppose im looking for reassurance from someone out there... Please.... X

Lots of ladies bleed in early pregnancy, I would phone your clinic for a chat, sadly they can't offer any guarantees but they can advise you. It may have been the scan that has caused a bit of old blood to come out (brown). I bled on and off all through my pregnancy and was so worried but the clinic just advised me to take it easy and I had to stop some of my meds that could have caused it. Sorry that you are so worried and I know there is nothing that I can say that will stop you worrying but be reassured that it is very common. Wishing you well for your pregnancyXx

Hi and congrats on your bfp. I bled loads duringy pregnancy, and spotted brown blood after my first scan, it's really common. I bled bright red blood with clots up until 15 weeks too, very scary but all was ok and I'm sure it will be for you too. Remember as Louise says, brown blood is old blood so try not to worry. Easier said than done I know. X

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. I have a DS and didn't bleed with him! I've had a mc before too so obviously worried.
It's good to hear reassuring stories like yours... I don't feel like I'm mc-ing it's been over 24hrs since I noticed first brown duscharge and thinking I'd be in lots of pain and have much more bleeding by now!
Also spoke to a friend earlier who said the same as you guys re bleeding and therefore resting. It's tricky as I have to look after my DS who is a lovely chappie but has lots of energy!

Hoping alls okay, my clinic are not too concerned as only saw heartbeat in Friday and refuse to scan me again so soon... Not sure if should have scan again yet as it may be the reason I've bled! Oh it's such a roller coaster ride.

Thanks again x

I too had the brown discharge after first scan was worried it was bad but doc reassured me that as long as it wasnt not to be overly concerned as Brown is usually old blood which probably got dislodged due to internal scan was this scan an internal one ,?

Hi Cleo.

Yes it was an internal... So hopefully thats whats causing the brown stuff! How much did you get though? Mine started the day after the scan, on saturday and is still coming today, monday. Bit tissue-y but still brown. Will call clinic again today!

Thanks

I doubt they would scan you again just now as this could make it worse if that is what caused it. I hope it settles down for you very soon. I had another at 8ish weeks after that for reassurance but not at the clinic xx

Sparky

My lasted 4 plus days after and it was as you say stringy and tissuey they they probably won't scan again for another few weeks babes as inky says it'll probably only dislodge more old blood with will make u panic more. Really everything will be ok but if it'll reassure u there is no harm in giving them a call. We have all been where u are babes so don't think your being overcautious do whatever puts your mind at ease because after all these babies are our miracles. Kisses xx

Cleo has said it perfectly, it's natural to panic, I know I did! Give your clinic a call for reassurance but mine also lasted a good few days before settling down. Even when I had significant red blood and clots ( we're talking soaking two pads in about 3 minutes) the EPU were pretty relaxed about it, as I had no pain with it. Good luck and big hug xx

My clinic have suggested i wait until next friday, will be 8 weeks then... Was feeling okay about that yesterday, spotting seems to be easing and getting more yellow/creamy again and had quite a bit of nausia and tiredness...
Today im less okay and would like a reassurance scan... Suppose its best to take their opinion!?

You need to do what feels right for you. It all sounds normal to me, and its great the bleeding has eased but I know myself even with people telling me it was ok I needed to do what felt right to me and I ended up having about 16 scans by 32 weeks pregnancy due to my bleeding! Call your clinic if it will make you feel better. I even paid £150 for a scan at 36 weeks despite having had no bleeding since about 18 weeks and extra scans at 26, 28 and 32 weeks due to low placenta to put my mind at ease. Xxx

As with net I did have lots of scans too. As net said its how you feel. I do wonder if the scans made me bleed but they also eased the worry. I had an open ticket for scanning due to my history and was scanned every two weeks or so. It's a tricky one but I felt the scans outweighed any spotting but mine weren't optional. I think, of course this is my personal opinion, I would hold out until next week if the spotting has stopped/ is much lighter. Of course, you must do what you feel is right for you. Much love xx

Thanks Net and Louise.

I'm waiting until next Friday now (2 weeks from first one) when I will be 8w4d.
The spotting has stopped! Yay! It stopped I'd say Tuesday evening and after lots of checking seems to have gone (fingers crossed). Don't seem to have any discharge now at all!?
I'm thinking my preg symptoms are still making me feel okay as have nausea and sore boobs so think I will try and wait until next Friday.
I agree Louise that the spotting may have been caused by the scan but I really would like another one for reassurance and need to anyway due to my history.
Thanks again for your support, it is very very kind if you xxx

I'm not surprised you're worried, I would be!

I had the same with my symptoms disappearing, they went completely with DD2 at around 8-9 weeks and never returned. I'm now pg with baby number 3, they did the same at about 7-8 weeks and then returned at about 9-10 weeks with full force.

Wishing you lots of luck with your scan tomorrow.

Symptoms back... No morning sickness but tender boobs and slight nausea... Yay!
Its weird isnt it. Still slight brown spotting (been on and off for 11 days now!). Spoke to an a&e nurse who thinks it should be okay... Will find out tomorrow.
Im pretty cross at my clinic for not seeing me earlier, its been too stressful and a scan would have reassured me. But i suppose they have their reasons and if they were really worried theyd have had me in sooner!
Thanks again for the advice ladies, much appeciated xxx
