TTTS- so very scared for our little beans

I'm writing this post trying desperately not to shed ant more tears. I went for a fortnightly scan today which happened to be done by my consultant as 2 sonographers were off sick. From the scan he saw signs of Twin To Twin Transfusion Sybdrome which left untreated would be fatal.

I'd already heard about the procedure they do using a laser to cut some of the blood vessels in the placenta but hadnt thought too much more about it as the risk off TTTS is quite low at 15%. What I riding realise until the procedure was explained to me today is that there is only a one third chance of both babies surviving and we could lose both of them as the procedure can cause miscarriage.

So, tomorrow we're off to St George's in London to have the laser procedure and I'm so, so scared for our little beans. I'm trying to stay positive but I'm finding it very hard and I just needed to come here for a small bit of that wonderful support you lovely ladies are so good at.

Thank you so, so much ladies for all your kind words. The op is booked for tomorrow lunch time so we'll be back up to London in the morning.

St Georges did a very thourough scan and agreed with my consultants findings and believe that the TTTS came on very quickly (the scan I had a week ago was fine). I was doing okay until the consultant at St George's showed us the babies in 3D...... it was so clear and the were wiggling away. There's a 30% chance that I could go into premature labour after the op and the babies will be too small to survive.

Please keep everything crossed and keep saying those prayers for us xxx

Hi ladies, Wannabe has asked me to update you all. She's has the procedure and a follow up scan and both babies are absolutely fine after it and she's taking it easy! This was her last message:

Scan went well and both babies are still ok. There's still a risk of prem labour so I've got to take it easy for the next week. We have a follow up scan at our own hospital next Friday which will hopefully show that the smaller twin has increased it's fluid and that both babies are still alive & well. It would be great if you could update the ladies on FZ for me hun and thank you so much for all your support xxx

So so so so so relieved for them all!!! X
