Big tummy and only just got BFP

Hi ladies,
This might be silly but here goes. I got my BFP on Thursday and I am delighted. Just can't believe it!! Had ivf and it was my first time. I know I am truly blessed and I am thankful every moment of the day.
My tummy is huge at the minute, like I am 5 months pregnant and just wondering is this due to the progesterone gel. Will it go down before I do get bigger or is this me now?? Confused a bit.

Bloating in the early days following an IVF BFP is really common. I was huge straight after but my tummy went down again at around 8 weeks. Don't worry!

1st IVF

1st FET no transfer :sadface:

2nd IVF

Took 7 years but we got our little miracle :smile:

Hi hope mine was still swollen from egg collection, it does go down after a few weeks and i was able to get back into my jeans lol!!

I was the same, my ovaries were swollen after icsi and midwife said they start to go down once the placenta takes over at around 12 weeks, so I lost my bloated feeling at 12 weeks and it was then replaced with a little bump :happy:

the pesseries dont help either, how long do you have to take them for? Xxx

Kat, thanks. I only had to use the gels until Thursday. Thank goodness. I am the size of a house lol constantly tired also as went out today shopping for 3 hours and needed two hours sleep when I got back! :snigger:

I know what you mean about the tiredness :sleeping:

try to sleep when you can, its hard work growing a baby :smile:

Hopefully your bloated feeling will go once you stop pesseries, I had to take mine till 13 weeks so mine never really went down. Xxx

If you meant eggs, they got 8, only 3 fertilized and 2 grew so two put back in. Hope that answers your question. Trying to take it easy. I have scan on 3rd Jan. can't wait but very nervous x

Its completly normal to worry about your scan but try not to worry too much. What a great start that will be to the new year, seeing a little heartbeat (or two) Good luck and enjoy :happy:
