:hello:

Welcome back to FZ! So sorry you are having such a long wait, it's the hardest part of all of this isn't it.

Please think very carefully about using drugs without any medical supervision. You don't know what effect they may have on you and may do more harm than good and potentially hamper your future treatment.

Really hope you get a date from St Mary's soon.

xx

Hi hun

From what I've read if your DH is to take HCG he could need up to 3 injections a week for 6-12 months before it makes a difference to his sperm and during that time he'll need to have his bloods checked regularly to make sure the dosage is correct and his testosterone levels don't get too high. Not wanting to sound like a kill-joy but it's not the kind of treatment you want to take without professional advice and support.

Is there anyway you can get to see a consultant to ask about it as a possible treatment?

xxx

Sorry to be miserable but the worse that could happen is you could get seriously ill and ruin all your chances. I don't know about a males point of view but I know a females.

I was on clomid, just a pill AND I was under a cons. I wasn't monitored properly and ended up with OHSS and nearly lost an ovary. I had to have a lap to remove a load of cysts caused by the clomid.

HCG NEEDS to be monitored. Clomid is a gentler version and it still causes damage and grief.

It is SO important to be monitored and looked after whilst taking these drugs. If you are not monitored you have no idea whether they're working or not or whether they are causing damage to you.

I don't mean to sound scary or hard but I've been there and I feel so strongly about it. I've been terrified that I would lose my ovary and that it would mean the end of my fertility. I had to be off work for weeks while I recovered. I had to be checked and scanned and then have a lap to be told that the outcome may be that I would be even more infertile. There's no guarantee that it will work and you will have no way of knowing if it is working.

Please don't take anything without being under a cons and being monitored. Neither of you will have any idea what its doing to your bodies.

Contact your clinic and speak to them. Find out what is going on.
