Medela are brilliant and have a fantastic reputation. However, if you regularly express instead of breastfeeding you won't produce as much milk. If you don't produce as much milk you won't be able to express.
It doesn't matter how snazzy or well rated the breastpump is, the most important key to successfully breastfeeding a baby, is to breastfeed regularly. Especially in the first few weeks when your supply is only just being established. Even the most fantastic pumps and techniques can produce poor results in the early days but more feeding and more time is all that's usually needed.
