Oh I sympathise - I sleep terribly in hospital. On Friday I think I got about two hours if that. I'm lucky that my shared room was silent at night - first time ever I think in a hospital! And the food here is equally as grim as yours - not even a toaster here though, just bread and jam! I would be doing the same as you. I wanted to go home on Saturday but they told me I'd have to sign to say I was leaving against doctor's advice so I thought I'd better stay put. In retrospect as baby has stayed head down ever since I could've been at home - oh well!

Let's hope you either get your section today or you get to go home

I'm hooked up into the ctg and getting loads of contraction readings but barely feeling them - anyone else had this? Wonder if this is labour atarting?! They are going from 20-80 sometimes.

Oooo fingers crossed its the start of something net :)
Are they still doing your section tomorrow if she hasn't arrived?

Well not impressed I have to stay here till atleast tomorrow evening, as the doctor wants me to have the steroid injections, first one done and second one tomorrow at 9am then if blood sugars stay stable can go home later on tomorrow unless labour progresses more.
I hate this, hate being away from ds :( dp sent me a picture of him this morning because he was dressed up for his school photos today and I started bawling, and again when she told me I had to stay in!! Emotional wreck today :(

Awh Cheenab it is hard being away from them but you're bringing back a great present for him : D

Net I've no personal experience that you're talking about but one of my friends had contractions for hours with no pain. The midwives thought she was exaggerating until they did an internal and she was 7cm dilated!! So yes it can happen !! Hope it's the start of something for you xx

Oh Cheenab I'm exactly the same. I have cried in here so much already. I cry when DD goes home from visiting me, I cry when DH calls to tell me about her day. It's so hard being away from them. Sorry you're being kept in. I hope you get home in between now and Friday.

Thanks heather. Still nothing other than more braxton hicks....

Still nothing here!!!
I keep getting pressure down below literally feels like something is trying to come out but they reckon he's just trying to get head down and stabilise his position, the doctors and midwifes keep calling him the unstabilised baby cuz he keeps flipping round!!!
Still getting tightenings also but they are not regular, my blood sugars have been fine since the steroids so I'm praying they let me home tomorrow, although they've had to change my cannula 4 times because it keeps popping out my vains, so the doctor said they may send me home with it still in, yuck!!! Don't like the thought of that ;)
My sister dropped ds over for a couple of hours after nursery, missed him like crazy!! He kept asking if I had a poorly hand (because of the cannula!!!) so I just agreed, we haven't said mummys here because of baby yet!!!

Hi to everyone, sorry my phone is being really rubbish at loading!!!
Net and babyh hope your both doing ok :)

Oh dear Cheenab - hope you get a chance to go home before Friday. I'm afraid the reason I'm in hospital is because my baby keeps flipping position too ( unstable lie). As long as your LO isn't going transverse they should let you home as breech and head down aren't dangerous for cord prolapse like transverse is.

DD has just left - I got quite sad that it's the last time it'll just be the three of us but also very excited that we'll be a family of four tomorrow. Keep getting the odd twinge but nothing painful as such. DD was charming the midwives talking about her new baby sister. I lose my private room tomorrow ( boo!) as they like people who have had a section to be on a bay so there are others around at all times - makes sense but dreading the heat again! Surely new borns aren't auppose to over heat!

Babyh any news? Hope you're having a baby as I type!

Hello everyone else

Right pray this baby makes an appearance overnight so I can avoid a section!

Currently hooked up to monitor as convinced contractions have started! Have had no sleep. Could this be it...?!

Monitor not really showing anything significant so I'm assuming maybe just BH but they are pretty strong.

Hello ladies

Well after putting the pressary in Monday 5.30am in the morning I had really bad pain all day, constant crAmping until 4.30pm when my water broke.
Dr then tried the gel at midnight still nothing.
Now this morning I am on the hormone drip which guarantees labour. As I'm typing I am getting contraction every 10 minutes and am 3cm dilated.
This is it girls.
Net hope ur c section goes smoothly
Hope everyone else is well?

Baby h good luck for today, I hope they drip isn't too bad and that LO is here soon. X

Net I know you didn't have the best experience last time, but my fingers are crossed that this will be a much better experience for you. I hope you DH is with you now and helping to keep you calm. Good luck for today and just thing you'll have your LG at the end of it. Take care and thinking of you. X

Cheenab how are you doing today? Hope you've got some sleep and that your lb starts to behave himself soon. X

How's everyone else?

It's been such a manic 10 days here I can't remember if I up dated after my scan or not! So apologies if I'm repeating myself! Everything went well even though my bump is measuring small lo is actually measuring 2 days ahead, so that's great news. My next scan is in 3 weeks. I also have to have a glucose test this wk as my sugar levels are high, am hoping it's just all the cake and biscuits I've been eating with my parents, as normally I'm quite healthy.

Anyway I hope today goes well for you all. X

Thanks all.

Babyh hope the pains aren't too bad - the drip can make them worse - have you had an epidural? I had one as I had no break between the contractions! Good luck! Hope that baby is here soon.

Cheenab - any news?

Simhel glad all went well with the scan.

Heather - thank you. I'm last on the list so waiting now probably until after lunch - agh!

Oh it's all go on here today I really hope you all have pretty stressfree days because it seems as if you've all been through the mill. It won't be long now for the wee kids to finally be in your arms.
I'm just pottering through my days I'm into my final week but feeling nothing haven't even had any form off BH. So it's going to be a major shock when my labour starts I've had zero prep at all.
I'll be thinking about everyone over the next few days hopefully you all get you LO soon girls and take care!xx

Net and babyh lots and lots of luck to you both, can't wait to hear your news :)

It's looking like Friday is still going to be LO's birthday, they've given me the second lot of steroids and said as long as my blood sugars behave then I can go home this eve and just come in as planned for section on Friday!!!
Need to re pack my bag and get all my stuff washed etc, going to be a manic 2 days to get everything sorted lol.
Dreadful night last night, this lady was literally screaming for hours!! I'm so glad I haven't got to experience them pains!!! ;)

Trying to get them to take this awful cannula out, I've had it re sited 4 times since being here as it keeps really hurting and swelling up, silly really as they haven't even had to use it gggrrr!!!!!

Hi to everyone else, hope your well :)

Will catch up more when back home :)

Good luck ladies! Cheenab I hope they let you get home today and they remove the horrible cannula. I hate those things. After DS was born they made me keep mine in another 2 days. Was so painful!

Net I really feel for you. I waited until 3.30pm for my section and I was terrified. I remember being super thirsty and they wouldn't even give me water. Hopefully you won't have much longer and it will all be forgotten once you have your beautiful baby in your arms.

Babyh hope things are progressing for you and you don't have too long a labour.

Looking forward to hearing some news when I check in again! xx

Cheenab this may be a silly question but why was she screaming? Are ppl on the ward in labour??? Or could you hear it from another part of unit? I have had all mone at birthing centre and was only person there each time so have no experience of hospital wards or hearing others in labour! :S Bet you can't wait to get home! X

The ward is one long corridor, up one end its before birth the other end after, but when ladies are in labour they take them downstairs to the labour ward, guess she was well on her way, it went on for hours before they finally took her down ;)

Our gorgeous little boy Finley Thomas arrived this morning at 9.38am weighing 7lb 14oz.
After the most horrendous c section last time this one was so calm and relaxed I couldn't have wished for a more positive experience :)

Just a quick one as signal rubbish!!!!

Hope everyone is well xx

Hello
Everyone
Congrats Cheenab.
We came home yesterday evening as little son Aidan had to have 5 days antibiotic due to my group B strep.
I have been in a lot of pain whilst in hospital but feel much better that I'm home.
Can't believe his ours! After trying for many years and never thought I will ever become a mother, to feel like this is really a dream come true.
This morning to wake up to him finally felt like his ours. We are already thinking of having more :-)
It looks like tho we will be waiting as I need to first recover from c section. Hope net And Cheenab ur fine.
Maiseymoon hope it's ur time soon. x

Joys of motherhood hey. Tired but all worth it I tell you.
Aidan is a very good boy but he has his days.

Net he weighed 7.13lb I'm very petit 4.10 and hubby 5.11 so that could be the reason or it could be that I had gestational diabetes or the midwife said that his head was in an angle that's why he wasn't coming down any further.
I do feel a lot better and feel like I'm healing good.
How are u doing Net and Cheenab have u guys healed??
I have already been cooking and hoovering the house, I may need to take it slow as for first time I feel little pain.

A great weight! My LO was 7.12. I'm nowhere near hoovering yet as scar has got infected which is such a pain but have been out walking and am doing the washing, cooking, dusting etc. My eldest is ill and wants cuddles all the time which is hard as can't lift her yet.

Glad all is well babyh. I've been posting loads in my diary rather than on here so don't think you can see that? If Nyobe wants to chat I guess we could go to new parent chat instead?

Hi all!

Harper-Lilly Alex (surname) made a screaming appearance on the 25-11 at 8.08am weighing 7lb 13 1/2 oz!

She is the double of her dad but with my hair.

I was due to be induced on 25-11 but went in with reduced movements 23-11. She was fine but my BP was very high and it wouldn't come down. Urine and blood was clear though, but they decided to induce me as soon as there was space. Induction began 24-11 at 5.30pm, had an awful labour so had an epidural. Was ready to begin pushing at 6.30am on 25-11. (Can't believe how they don't just slip out haha! They lie on TV! ) we have began to settle now- she finally slept last night 11-2 and then 5-9 so I feel human again!

So happy she is here, I can't believe I made her!!! Xxx
