I was told my DD was 6lb 7 at 36 weeks and she was only 6lb 6 when she was born at 39 weeks so I'm definitely taking it with a pinch of salt! I also have three different sizes of baby gro just in case.

So it seems no one can really tell!!! From the size of my belly though I think it will be a big baby!

I have survived day 1 of the holidays! We went to the cinema this morning and watched Inside Out which was really good. My parents came over this afternoon and took the kids for 1.5 hours walk and I attempted to catch up on Casualty but fell asleep! It was much needed as after about 2am I really struggle to settle.DH has the day off tomorrow and we are undecided yet if we are all going out for the day or I might just stay at home! I wonder if I am in for another evening of braxton hicks?? They were very strong last night and I started to think things were happening but no! X

I think it's rubbish, by the size of my belly this one looks like it will be 10lb plus!!!
Hope you manage to chill out a bit jasper, does DD still do nursery in the hols or are they both off? The nursery Z is at is quite good as he still goes through the hols :)

Consultant app went well today, c section booked for the 6th :) 2 weeks tomorrow, can't wait!!!!!
The diabetes team were really pleased with my blood sugar levels, and have been given some syringes to try and collect some colostrum incase baby's blood sugars are low when he is born so I can top up with that :) have been leaking a bit the past couple of days so hopefully be able to get some!!!
I'm sooooo excited, but feeling stressed have got so much to do!!!!
Need to start making a plan of action, stuff that has to be done asap!!!!

How exciting Cheenab to have a date. I love having a section date because it means you've got a definite end date in sight

Jasper I suppose to be fair to the scanners they were more accurate with our last two saying they would be around 7lbs 7oz and that was pretty spot on!!

Babyh not long to go now.

Net hope the BP is continuing to behave xxx

Cheenab glad the scan went ok - and you have a date! Will be good for birthdays every year being so close to bonfire night!

Babyh good to hear from you. Sorry you're in painZ

Jasper hope you're not too tired with the children to look after! I am so lucky having my DH at home working.

just had detailed Doppler scan to check blood flow to baby and been put on BP medication as was really high this morning. Back Monday for more monitoring and if still high section date may be brought forward. Got quite a bit of pressure over not wanting to be induced but I stand firm on that one!

That's great to have a date Cheenab, Atleast you know when you need to be ready by!

Shouldn't be long for you either Babyh. I know what you mean about not walking for long. My bump feels so heavy I keep needing to rest!

Net sounds like you are being well looked after but not nice to have these extra worries.

I stayed at home today while DH has taken kids out. Managed to sleep for a couple of hours after lunch which was good. Still suffering with a cold so trying to rest as much as possible. Just wish I knew when it would happen! X

Hope your BP stays in control and everything goes smoothly for you.

I so want to be induced at 40 weeks because I'm really nervous about going overdue

Babyh no pre eclampsia yet, just high BP. Nothing wrong with being induced, I just don't want to be as it didn't go well for me last time, but that's my experience and I was induced at 39+2 due to pre eclampsia, I really don't think my LO was ready to come out, plus I had a load of complications that someone else wouldn't necessarily get so don't worry about bring induced if that's what you want. I'm also scared of going overdue but my hospital have refused an elective section until 41 weeks so I gave no choice.

Jasper so sorry you're so tired. Hope you get the nance of a nap later today? I also had a shocking night and got up to find DD had been sick all over her bed and has the runs too. Agh! This baby best not come today! She's currently in the bath and seems happy enough, hoping it's just a 24 hour thing and I am now anti baccing everything in sight so I don't catch it!

Hello Everyone!

Net, sorry to hear about your blood pressure and also that your dd is poorly. I hope she starts to improve very soon and that you don't catch it. Fingers crossed you both manage to get a nap today too. X

Jasper and Cheenab, sorry to hear you are both so exhausted. I hope you both manage to put your feet up for a bit today.

Cheenab I hope the nursery painting is going well, how exciting to be getting yourself all organised and ready x

Jasper I hope your mw appointment goes well and that they agree to start you off, and if not that you don't have too long to wait.

Babyh what a shame you missed your Consultants appointment, are they going to try to rearrange or will you just see the mw again? I hope you're managing to rest up and take it easy. Hopefully lo won't keep you waiting too long. How are you finding the raspberry leaf tea? X

I had a dose of reality this wk in the fact that I now need to slow down a bit abd that I can't run around like I used to. So I need to make sure I behave myself from now on! I have the mw on mon and consultant on fri, so am hoping my blood pressure is behaving and that our lo is growing and measuring well at our scan. Everyone keeps telling me how tiny my bump is, which I find a little worrying, but I'm not the biggest of people so hopefully she's just taking after her mummy. :-)

Thanks girls. Have literally just got up from a two hour nap but still feel like a zombie. My poor DD I feel so sorry for her - she's so hungry but can only keep water down. Bless her.

Jasper I hope you're ok and not too tired. I don't know how I would cope without my DH at home just now. Can your parents / in laws help out at all this week? I am possibly having a sweep on Thursday but I hate internals so much I may refuse!

Simhel great to hear from you - how many weeks are you now? Hope your BP is ok and appointments go well. You body definitely tells you what it needs I think. I know mine does ( and that's sit down haha)

Oh and Simhel ignore people who tell you your bump is small. I'm only measuring 33cm at full term so it varies massively person to person as my LO is growing perfectly and bang on average according to those charts. It's hard not to worry though as I did! Baby's position really affects your bump as my LO is all squashed up and curled around in a big c shape so not making bump look very big. Plus if you're not big then your bump probably won't be either. I'm only 5ft 3 and my bump with DD was measuring 2cm behind all the time, this one is smaller but the baby seems to weigh more so who knows!

Aw thanks for that net, I'm doing fairly well at ignoring comments but sometimes you can't help but worry. But thank you for the reassurance. I'm 28+ 2 now, can't believe after all these years our little girl will be here within the next 12wks!! So excited :-) x

Your poor wee girl, it's so horrible being sick but hungry at the same time. Have you tried her with some rehydration drinks to keep her salt and sugar levels up. You can make them up and keep it in the fridge for 24hrs and just give her sml sips throughout the day. You can also try her on a plain biscuit, plain toast or plain pasta if she'll eat them, but again little and often. Literally just a few mouthfuls at a time then have a break. The theory is there's enough going in for the body to digest and get some nourishment but not so much that it'll over load her stomach and make her sick. I was really Ill with d and v for nearly 8 wks a few years ago and this is what I was told to do and it definitely helped. I started with a mouthful at a time then slowly built it up over 24hrs. I hope she starts to feel better soon and you all manage to get some more rest. X

Happy 39 weeks jasper! Hope LO is with you soon

My DD is still ill but has now kept down a cream cracker so that's progress! My BP has come down a bit - yay! So am now back to just waiting for baby to turn up. Midwife scared me today by telling me the baby's fists are by her head which makes me think ouch for delivery! Hoping she moves them. Having lots of braxton hicks today - they were showing up on the monitor too. Not painful at all but getting more regular. Wonder if baby will turn up this week?!

Hi all - how is everyone?

That's good news about BP Net and that DD has kept some food down.

That could b the start of things Net! With DS my waters breaking was the first sign, I was asleep at the time! Contractions started shortly after and he arrived 10 hours later. With DD I had just sat down to dinner and had a huge unmistakable contraction! They continued til she arrived 5 hours later. With both I had painless BH during the day before it happened but this time I've been getting 20+ a day for weeks! I'm hoping I don't get the big gush of waters like first time but I havetoddler training pad in my bed and on carpet by bed just incase! I also have a pack to take in car so I don't ruin seats! ::P x

Oh good idea with the training pads. I'll order some from Amazon now. My waters broke in a shared induction bay with adD and trickled into the next door bay who had visitors at the time. Mortified! Back ache is so bad. Have taken some paracetamol. BH are really frequent too. Hmmmmm!

Ooooo exciting net!!!! xfingers it's the start of something!!!!
Is it tomorrow your due date? Meant to be lucky if baby is born then :)

Well I am slightly starting to panic a bit!!!!
I think I've been in denial, but now what with decorating, setting up the cot and washing clothes etc it's all of a sudden hit me!! We ARE going to have a baby next Friday!!!!! How the flip did that happen again!!!! rotf
Finding myself worrying about the c section, how ds is going to take to baby etc!!! How we will manage etc!!!!
Sooooooo much stuff going on in my head, really want to enjoy these last few days!!!!
Received letter from the hospital saying my bed has been reserved for 6th November at 7.15am, I think that really made it seem real!!!!!

Eeekkk!!!!!
Hope I'm not sounding ungrateful, I'm honestly not!!! Just having a moment of sheer panic!! rotf

You don't sound ungrateful at all Cheenab. I spend many hours in the middle of the night stressing about it all! I think the fact you have a date makes it more real, I won't believe this has happened until baby is here!
My 2 are very excited about baby coming but I still stress about it as I don't think they fully understand what it will be like! MIL gave us some money to get them a present for when baby arrives and I have a few other little treats stashed away as there's bound to be jealousy when people arrive with baby gifts. It's all go in this section now!!!! X

Not ungrateful at all cheenab! I also wake up stressing over the birth and managing with two etc all the time!

Back ache has gone a bit with paracetamol but BH are crazy! So uncomfortable. Not painful though and don't feel like real contractions ( boy do I remember those!).

DD is much much better thankfully. Has now kept her lunch and dinner down but is so tired she's already gone to bed.

Hello lovely ladies.
Looks like you have been busy here, especially that it's the last couple of weeks for us! Really have my fingers crossed for all of you lovely ladies.
Net hope your daughter is well and your feeling ok?
I feel for most of you too as you have children already and must be really hard to juggle kids and pregnancy?
Jasper you are exactly 1 week behind me.
I am getting twinges here and there. Have started in RLT yesterday once a day will build up to twice a day!
I have rescheduled my consultant/obstetrics app for this Wednesday when I will be 40weeks
And also midwife app on Thursday.
Hubby's leaving his job this Wednesday to support me and taking a break for 3 months or so! So looking forward to
That as I want him to be there for me when I go into labour! I'm not thinking about it at all so I'm not stressed about it at all. Just waiting for my water to break :-)

Ah babyh that's fab your DH will be around - my DH works from home and it's been an absolute godsend to have him around as he can flex his time ( he has his own business ) to help with DD or give me a break when I'm tired. Hope your LO is here soon!

No joy from me! Still no baby despite all the pains yesterday. Back is still agony and had a terrible night but nothing yet! I was in tears with the pain last night from my back but it got better when I went to bed ( at 8..30 PM lol ) and seems a bit better this morning.

It's my due date today so maybe she'll decide to turn up today?!

I promise it can be done Cheenab. It is hard work with so many little ones on your own but can be done. I was a fan of soft play areas after H was just born. My hubby works 13 hour shifts. I find it a bit lonely at times tbh so I meet up with friends who are off on mat leave too.

Hopefully baby will come today Net xx

Saw mw today and sweep is booked for Tuesday when I'll be 40+1. Really hope baby comes before though as I'm struggling. Been feeling really sorry for myself, which just isn't me. Some of its guilt that I'm not doing the things with DD & DS that I would like to. ;(
MW was very complimentary about my BP, rise in my iron levels and also said I look radiant, I certainly don't feel it! I'm measuring 40cm and head is very far down. She said not to expect a gush of waters as head is so far down. Talked about BH and she said it's a good thing and makes for more effecient labour as muscles ready. How's everyone else doing? X

All sounding very promising jasper!!! Fingers crossed baby arrives soon :)

Had my last midwife app today, baby still breech so good job a section is booked!!
Was the first time I had seen this midwife, she was so lovely!!!
Other than that all fine, bp etc all normal.
Just ordered a c section belt off eBay, probably a waste of money but ds can be a bit boisterous sometimes and I don't want to have to keep telling him off for just being him if he accidentally knocks me, so I thought this way a bit of protection lol!!!
Pre-op tomorrow, feeling so nervous this is really real now!!!!!

Hi to everyone else, hope your all well? Just a quick one as on my phone, will catch up more tomorrow xx

Morning!

Insomnia strikes again.....

Jasper that's all sounding good. Glad your BP etc behaving! Hope your LO turns up soon, this waiting lark us torture huh.

Cheenab glad you're ok too. On count down now!

I keep thinking this time next week I will have my baby girl one way or the other as section booked next Tuesday! No sign yet, but back still aching and just generally finding things harder. Gutted won't get water birth now due to BP as no pools on labour ward, on,y on midwife led unit. Gas and air it is then haha! Did nothing for me last time so could be interesting. No plans today and it's currently tipping it down so cou,d be interesting with DD today. Midwife tomorrow, then assessment unit Friday as they had no consultant appointments left! How bad is that - oh sorry we are fully booked, tough luck. At least I get to see someone at the hospital I suppose.

Pins and needles in hands so bad now I can barely feel what I am doing so will sign off. Have a good day!

Hello ladies
How is everyone?
I had my 40 weeks appointment with the consultant today. I'm bang on 40 weeks today.
I have been scheduled in for an induction on Sunday, where I will be 40w 4d
Apparently new policy, they don't wait for 41w 5d as previously because I have Gestational Diabetes.
So it really has kicked in for me now. As I here u could be in for days until baby comes along! Plus coz its planned I'm panicky! Let's hope nature takes its course!

How's everyone else?

Yeah you are right Babyh, once they start induction you have to stay in but it doesn't always take ages! Some people are done in a few hours! Remember that in general people only tell you the horror stories you don't tend to hear about straight forward births as it's boring!!! Have you got everything ready? I think I have but I've probably forgotten something!

The BH continue....come on let's have the real thing!!!! Although I feel too exhausted all the time for labour! Fell asleep on sofa at my mums today! I haven't managed a whole day without dropping off since last Thursday!

How r u doing today Net & Cheenab? X

Babyh it took me 24 hours from induction to baby so doesn't always take ages! Good luck xx

Jasper I'm with you in the tiredness stakes. Was up at 5.30 today and am soooo tired. Loads of BH again and odd twinges etc but no action yet! DD is still not 100% either - she's not eating properly at all and I am a bit worried about her - hoping it's just the tail end of the bug and not something new. I'm so ready for this baby now! Don't want her on Saturday though as its mother in laws birthday lol!

Good luck babyH fingers crossed baby arrives before induction :)

Net fingers crossed your little niggles turn into something too, these baby's are just far to comfy at the moment ay :)

How far are you now jasper?

Had my pre op today, lady was wonderful really made me feel calm about c section, but now just freaked myself out reading all the leaflets she gave me!!!
Out of all the problems I've had they have put down the reason for elective section 'baby breech' haha, that did make me chuckle!!! ;)
