Hello all,

I've been AWOL for ages, just been busy with work and Christmas and was ill for weeks with sinusitis and a nasty chest infection. Better now though and all good with baby. I'm 29 weeks and we are getting very excited!

How is everyone else?

Sparky, I am due on the 6th of April.
Not very long for you now. Keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well.

Thinkingpositive - wow! I am glad your boys are doing well. I realised as I read your post that I will be at the same milestone tomorrow as you were when you has your boys. Hopefully they won't have to stay in hospital too much.

Tiggs, glad you are doing well.

Afm, I have been crazy enough to start a new job four months into my pregnancy and it involves quite a lot of flying too - it is incredibly tiring but exciting at the same time.

Health and happiness to all.

Hi ladies can I join you? I've made it to the 3rd trimester yay :)

I was just wondering is anyone here considering homebirth? My consultant thinks its not a good idea so I was wondering what other people have been told about it??

I hope you're all keeping well. I'll have to have a read back to see what going on with you all :)

Hi yeh this us my first we have waited a long time for this wee baby. How did you get on at the hospital yesterday. We are having a bit of time with it yo my baby had not grown in 2 weeks so now I have to go for heart tracing every second day until next week where I will get another scan and they will decide what there going to do. I should nearly be 38 weeks by then so baby should be strong enough. It's a terrible worry though. Hope your ok xxxx

Hi liz im sure it is a big worry for you but I bet all will go well! I know lots of people that have been told babys stopped growing or small and need to be induced then they end up induced with a 7lb + baby dont think they are always right.

hi heidi! How exciting ur first! This is my third. Its horrible not knowing what to expect with ur first baby/labour/birth but u will cope u will get through it an u really do forget the pain as soon as they are in your arms!

im going to get my cervical suture taken out next wk by which time I will be 36 wks so little lady could come anytime after! (Doubt it tho) xx

Hope you are both well. I'm typing this from the hospital as I have been taken in today to be induced as they thought baby would be better out now as they were worried about growth. Will let you know how I get on and good luck to you both xxx

It can get difficult and at times I think I can't possibly get bigger!! We are also breech. Had a scare the other day as had really reduced movement and bad cramping so went for a scan and all was well thankfully. This happened to me last time and thought I had managed to not have this time. Think it is just braxton hicks but they hurt like hell!! I've never been through an actual labour as have had two sections before got to that stage so not quite sure what it feels like.

I think we are probably having a girl but that's maybe just because we have 3 girls and I just assume we will have another. Haven't seen anything on scan to show me differently but doc is careful not to go near that region so we can't see.

Not sure what your plans are going forward. We had said for definite that this would be out last baby and hubby has spoken about going for the snip but now that it's an option I'm not sure I can commit to that so strongly just in case I go mad and decide I need to use my frosties!!

Hi Rachel,

How are you keeping? Is LO still breech? So far we are sort of breech/transverse position so baby is basically lying diagonally across my belly with the feet kicking my bladder!! We are having a very chubby baby by the looks of it. At the last scan a week and a half ago (s)he was weighing in at 4lbs at 28+4 so goodness what will be like by 39 weeks. Kinda glad now I know I am having a section :snigger:

Hi Heather and Rachel,

Seems so surreal to be posting here now! 31+3 today! Twin 1 was head down at last scan and twin 2 was transverse but judging by shape now i'd guess has gone back breech. Getting very frequent braxton hicks now which stop me in my tracks otherwise i fear i may pee! I only have to stand or walk a few paces and it comes on straight away! Glad I've finished work!

Rachel any news on your little pink one turning?

Heather that's a really good size! At 28 week scan they were concerned about twin 1 as growth had tailed off a bit, has scans at 29 and 30 weeks, both a little on the small side at 2lb12oz and 3lb 3oz but both have continued to grow so no major concern as long as they keep on cooking!

Finding it a bit stressful still as we moved into my mum and dads at end of feb whilst house gets finished and we are still here. Still not bought anything apart from a few baby bits to get us through 1st few days in hospital and I only count 45 days til I'm 38 weeks!

Hope you are both doing well xxx

Hi Gingerbean,

I ended up with a section first time round as twin 1 was breech. Suffering badly from BH myself and don't know whoever said they are not meant to be painful mine most certainly are!! I'm always a bit dubious with the measurements of twinnies. We were told my two were going to be over 7lbs and in the end up they were considerably smaller so its most definitely not an exact science and I think it is much harder with two of them in there pushing each other when the scan is happening. Is 38 weeks your evacuation date?! For first little while all you will need are 2 moses baskets or one cot dependent on what you are choosing. The nursery room there is no rush on as you will more than likely have babies with you for 6 months. i would definitely recommend 2 bouncer seats and a changing table to make it easier for you to change them without wrecking your back. I ended up express feeding my girls so the bouncer seats were a life saver as it meant I could sit on the floor between the seats and feed them at the same time.

Yes we are definitely having a chubster. I measured my bump this morning and I am at the same point as I was at 36 weeks last time!!

Hi ladies. Sounds like the both of you are doing well, not long now :)
Cant beleive im 36 weeks today, she has been a very naughty baby keep changing from head down to breech. I was booked in for a ECV on monday but she turned on her own i think Sunday night & is now head down half engaged
Totally agree with how painful BH are & the pressure is unbearable at times. Just need to keep reminding myself not for much longer.

Glad your LO has moved the right way and not long to go now Rachel until you meet your bundle. I think we are still breech but I suppose it doesn't really matter as won't be a normal delivery other than isn't great for baby's hips.

I am absolutely starving recently so LO must be going through a bit of a growth spurt!! I really am so impatient to meet our LO. Going to get crib etc out and all clean this weekend so I am ready. Have my hospital bag almost packed just in casey.

I've never gone into labour so really don't know what it feels like Rachel but at times I am convinced with the BH that it is happening but eventually after a few hours it all settles down!!

Have a fab time getting crib etc out - makes it more real when you can actually see all the babies things .

Rachel sounds like you have a little monkey in there. I am pretty sure my LO is still breech/tranverse. Have you ever had a section before with any of your LOs?

I know I worry at times and they say that the movement does change as they run out of space but I definitely don't have the same amount of movement as a few weeks ago. There is enough that it meets the recommended amount by the guidelines etc. Have a scan this afternoon and am looking forward to seeing Bean and finding out the weight. My bump is huge so am curious to know the size with 8 weeks to go!!

Heather she really is a little monkey, had hardly any movement all weekend but plenty of niggly pains Actually thought she was going to make an appearance Saturday morning :S
MW tomorrow fingers crossed she's head down.
Never had a section before, been so lucky with my past deliveries. Hopefully my luck will last for this one as well.
My bump measures the right size. Im thinking she will be 7-8lb. Not long till i find out

Hope you are keeping well Rachel and it'll be no time at all until you get to meet your little girl. Did she stay head down? I have a feeling bean keeps jiggling about and changing because I know where the kicks and movement mostly is whether we are head down/sideways or breech. Mostly breech so hopefully the hips are ok as he/she has been breech for quite a while now.

You must be so impatient to meet your LO now because I know I am and it isn't far away but still feels like it is ages away!!

Hello girls
I think we were in the 3rd Trimester as of a week ago??
Hope ur both ok Net & Jasper?
My GD maybe going out of control, at night it seems to be high so I may have to give the MW a call!
I'm so bored at home and really lazy, don't like going out and feel like I'm house bound as I live far away from friends and family, not too far but far enough!
Just done baby shopping weekend gone such as crib & Moses basket
Will get hospital bag ready in a couple of weeks. I'm fine health wise apart from my carpel tunnel & I do feel tired wen my blood sugar level is high
How are u both feeling?

Sorry to hear you are feeling bored babyh. Have you got any hobbies?

I am feeling better today as had an early night, albeit a very disturbed one but I'm used to that now. DD is at nursery all day today so just me and DS, so it almost feels like a day off!

Started taking my iron tablets last night and hoping I don't get any side effects! I did have a sudden panic last night that low iron may mean that I can't go to birthing centre but will have to go to hospital! Anyone have any experience of this? Booked my whooping cough injection fir Monday, this is something new I didn't have in previous pregnancies.

Anyone else ready to join us???? X

I have my whooping cough jab tomorrow. My tip is to have it in the arm you don't lay on at night as it can be sore!

I had DD on the delivery suite rather than birthing centre - it was fine!

Thanks for the tip!

My worry is mainly the distance of them. Birthing centre is less than 5 mins away but hospital is 25 mins in middle of night 1 hour + in the day! I'd hate to b in the car all that time! Hopefully I'm worrying over nothing!

Just chilling on sofa with heating on after getting cold & wet this morning! X

Ah I see. I'm lucky in that the birthing centre is next to delivery suite and hospital is 5 min drive away. I looked longingly through the double doors of the birthing suite whilst having contractions dreaming of a water birth but pre eclampsia and induction put paid to that!

Hello babyh sorry you are so bored. Have you exhausted the lure of a decent box set yet?

Hey cheenab sorry the GD is playing up. I would do like jasper suggested and consider dropping one job if you can? I stopped at 32 weeks with DD - I'm going to 35 with this one but it's hard and I don't do night shifts. Take care x

Just spoke to a friend who had low iron and she went to birthing centre so think I'm worrying over nothing. I am tempted to try a water birth. First time I laboured in pool but got out to push, second time things progressed quite quickly and they were just filling the pool when DD made an appearance!!!

Feel so exhausted that I might have to ask DH to take day off tomorrow, its not ideal but only option for me to get a rest! X

How are you feeling Jasper? Did you get a chance to relax?

My arm is killing me after the whooping cough jab! Feels like someone has punched me repeatedly. Glad it's done now though. Not much else to report - feel like I hardly see a midwife this time around! And weird having no scans as had about 6 between 20 and 30 weeks with DD due to various issues - I guess I am lucky this time the pregnancy is much less complicated.

I'm starting to feel better :) still tired but not in the same league as it was before! The breathlessness and racing heart seems much less too.DH didn't take day off but I did have an easier day yesterday and didn't feel like I was rushing around. It's so hard to get the balance between keeping kids entertained and wearing myself out!

I had a moment of madness yesterday and decided to weigh myself! I've gained 1.5 stone which is same as when I weighed myself about 2 months ago so I am pleased its slowed down!!!!

Oh no Net don't tell me that about the jab, I have mine on monday! ::P

We were discussing names last night but just can't agree on a boys name! I have one that I like but DH not sure, we haveva few possibles for girls. How's everyone else getting on? X

Hi ladies,

Glad the tiredness is a bit better jasper, make sure you keep resting.

Oh no does the jab really hurt? I need to ring and book mine on Monday and go and have the next lots of bloods!!!

Had an eventful day yesterday, carpal tunnel has turned up in my hand again, but I was agony all the way up my arm and red and purple blotches kept coming up, I worked a night shift and thought will ring the doctors quickly see if they have an app to check, got one for straight away and the doctor starts going on about blood clots etc and she needs to send me to the hospital straight away to be checked!!!
I'm absolutely shattered, ds was at my sisters over night so thankfully didn't have to sort him out so off I go to the hospital all the while praying my car wouldn't break down as it keeps playing up lol, get there have bloods and a scan, although a vain is right below the marks she said it's really soft so doesn't indicate a clot thankfully!!!
So get sent home, by this time it's 2pm so thought I really need to get DS so still no sleep Zzzzzzz was shattered!!!!!
Dp got home at 5.30, I was asleep by 6 and woke at 8 this morning!!! Really needed the sleep ;)

Just had a call from my boss at the night job as was speaking about leaving earlier, I've got a shift this Sunday and next Sunday (bank hol double time ;)) then she is going to put me through as on holiday which will take me up to the 18th October, I had originally planned to leave for maternity on the 23rd so works out quite well ;)
Although it doesn't sound like I'm going to get maternity pay as not worked there long enough, but hey ho we'll just have to manage!!!!
Also just had a call from the hospital and they want me to go in for a growth scan this afternoon!!!!
Can't wait to see baby again :) xxx

Hope everyone is doing well xxx

It's all go for you Cheenab!!! Why do you need a scan? Are you measuring big or small? I can't believe you slept for 14 hours, did u not even get up for a wee?! ::P My sleep is so disturbed at thr moment as my bump is huge so its hard to turn over and every time I turn over I have to rearrange all my pillows! One under my bump and one between my knees!

I've got a full on week nxt week with not a minute to spare so trying to take it easy today and hopefully get some extra sleep at weekend! X

Already said on fb to you Jasper but will reply to your question any way :P

Measuring big, 32 weeks!! Have growth scans for the GD every 4 weeks so they just brought this forward a few days!!!
Baby's measuring about 2lb 10oz at the moment which she said is good. The fluid is measuring high though which she said they will keep an eye on.
Next scan on the 18th :)
I had to get up for a couple of wee's through the night rotf my bladder would have exploded else ;)

Hope you get chance to chill this weekend jasper xx

Do you get many comments about your bump? I do and it irritates me! Glad scan went well, must be so nice seeing baby again!

How did everyone get on yesterday, it was scorching!!! Luckily we were at a bbq most of the day so I didn't do much! Then had 10 hours ( interrupted) sleep so feeling good this morning :)

Can't believe I'm 30 weeks tomorrow, still feel like yesterday that I realised a miracle bad happened! : D

Oh wow jasper - 10 hours! Sounds amazing. I seem to wake at 6am no matter what time I go to bed. I get the opposite remarks about my bump ' oh you're so small' - which just makes me paranoid. Why can't people just keep their opinions to themselves haha!

Cheenab sorry about the carpal tunnel - I am absolutely dreading getting that again - it started about 32 weeks I think last time and I'm 31 weeks on Tuesday so am getting worried! I'm glad that the hospital check showed that all was ok - hope the next scan goes well too.

Hello everyone else on here - how is everyone getting on? My LO has been a bit quiet this weekend which had got me a bit worried but she's been pretty active all afternoon. Think it's the heat. I hated it yesterday and am glad it's now raining! Cannot wait to finish work now - 4 more weeks to go,

Xx

I never realised carpal tunnel was so common. Hopefully you might escape it this time!

Went to yoga last night, its so relaxing! Someone who has recently had their baby came along at the end with their baby, makes it all real!

We're off to Longleat in the rain today. Much as I can't b bothered we need to get out the house! X

Very wet soggy morning at Longleat, but good to get the kids out for a few hours!

Had my whooping cough jab today, no problems, but ny word my arm aches now!

The nurse asked if I've been getting plenty if rest, I laughed out loud!!! I mentioned to a friend today about my low iron and said it was 93 and she said wow that is low, is it? I have no idea!

Only 4 weeks at work Net, how exciting! X
