Had another bad bleed Saturday morning...just my luck!! Came home Sunday afternoon, and was told that before leaving hospital i will be given a booking in date for elective c-section, as 5 bleeds is way to much to be carrying on with. Ward doctor eventually came round and said sorry i will have to come back in Wednesday 23rd and i will defo be booked in and have all the swabs bloods and consent form sorted out then. They are looking to bring me in at 36 weeks (im 34 weeks today) so fingers crossed no more bleeds and that 36 weeks comes around sooner rather than later. Cant wait!!! I should be enjoying this pregnancy but after whats happened i really cant wait for it to be over. Glad everyone is progressing well, not long now til we all accomplish our journey!! xxxxxxx

Ladies stay away from those evil scales, @ 1 & half stone I decided I wasn't stepping on them again until baby arrives & i'm back exercising properly. 2 people told me at work today that my bump was neat because I was carrying the weight in my behind - erm why did they think I needed to hear that? :what:
On that note I'm going to eat some chocolate as I've been to aqua natal class this eve & can totally justify it

Oh Sazlou, how rude of your workmates!! Good for you for going to aqua fit, I can barely walk up the stairs without having to take my asthma pump at the moment, am consoling myself with maltesers which doesn't help! Pregnancy has given me such a sweet tooth, hoping it will go back to how it was (chocolate maybe twice a week rather than twice a day) when LO arrives!

Got to admit that is pretty rude sazlou :teehee: . I have gone up by 2 half stone. Trying not to let it bother me as I had been on a diet for 4 years trying to get pregnant. Went form a size 18/20 to a size 10/12 so fingers crossed I will get back into shape.

How's everyone doing today. Does anyone know how emmajane is?.

Net think a sweet tooth is better than craving savory mine seems to be salt and vinegar golden wonders and dairylea sandwiches.

AFM - whooping cough jab this morning then off to pick up me pram biggrin2 can't wait. Tomorrow off to the midwife to listen to my little man's heartbeat. Does anyone have any ideas for boys names ?

Have a good day

I've just noticed ladies we're all carrying watermelons - no wonder we feel big & the scales are going nuts lmao

Once our babies arrive we'll soon drop the ponds, we'll all be too busy to sit with our feet up eating chocolate - better make the most of it I say :chocs:

Lucyloo - deciding on names is a total mare in my house, my DH doesn't like my choices nor do I like his :hairout So far we've agreed on Daniel for a middle name as it's a family name (his side).

Hi lovelies,

Eeeek! Well 37+1 so I am classed as term eg, not premature and jokingly said yesterday right baby we r nearly ready and prayed I made that mile stone. I wake up this AM and TMI! Walk to loo felt bit water coming out not much but nigh to think I was wetting myself beyond control, sat on loo and thought perhaps baby had pushed on something....then little plop in toilet...bum I thought its my mucus plug!! It seems it was wiped myself bit of brown on issue and rang midwife!

She said ooh that sounds exciting! :). So I cancelled my reflexology and waited an hour with a pad on as midwife said if waters broke need to ring hospital if not this can happen a few weeks before labour....

Nothing all day so I guess waiting....had bad back ache for few days but no BH....

Anyone else had this :) excited.....bit nervous too :)

Oooooh Pheobe that sounds very promising!! Maybe you'll be seeing LO sooner rather than later!!

I have just made a chocolate and orange cake as all this talk of food made me hungry - oops! Have had horrific back ache all day, really sore and sleeping so badly now, I was up every hour last night from midnight until 4am for a wee. Knackered!

Lucy, hope you haven't got a dead arm from your jab yet.

Hi to everyone, hope you're all well

Hi ladies hope were all doing well? Big congrats to Amyeliz, watermelon and Kittenlove. i hope you ladies are feeling well? Were arriving thick and fast this month aren't we ladies : D

Afm my little man was born weighing 7lb 14.5oz at 1.17pm we called him George William Simmons : D he's so tiny (well looks it to me) all went well and we came home Sunday night. Sorry I've taken a while to update.

Clarabelle we went for elective due to my thyroid problem (underactive) my hypothesis of my right kidney, they thought he was big, large swollen vains in my bits since 24weeks. They wanted to induce early as I was not up for c-section but I lost my bottle and opted for the elective and they booked me in for next day. I think I'd got myself in a state over the decision too, alls good now though and so relieved he's here : D I hope your keeping well?

Sending love to you all

Waylou, that's great news, really pleased you have your date!

Sazlou, my back is agony today, only stops hurting when I stand up or lie down. Hope your back feels better soon. Half the chocolate orange cake has gone already - oops. Your dinner sounds amazing! William was also our boy name choice, as it's a family name, middle names were Robert Nicholas, again both family names. However that's all academic now (unless the sonographers have made a massive mistake!).

I have just been out for lunch with a work colleague's wife who has 5 month old twins. Oh my goodness they are gorgeous but hard work, I don't know how she does it. My carpal tunnel was really playing up so had to hold the little girl twin with one arm for most of it, good practice though. I am definitely having a few inches chopped off my hair next week now though as it was a baby fist magnet!!

Hay Ladies.

How is everyone.

Sazlou hope you enjoyed your chippy tea sounds nice. Won't be long before we have our watermelons : D . when's your due date. My back is constantly in pain. I bought a support belt like net from mother care. My doctor recommended it as I am on my feet for 9 hours a day.

Cleo- I am good thanks its good to hear your doing well. How long till your mat leave starts.

Clarabelle- how you getting on.

Net - bet that cake was worth it. MW confirmed Carple tunnel. Hoping it's not gonna get bad and goes after my watermelon arrives.

AFM - that whooping cough jab has knocked me on my arse. I am sooooo sore can barely lift my arm. MW says baby is on track and is still head down has been for weeks. Think he is making sure he knows the way out

Morning all

I am not a happy camper after 3 nights in a row of virtually no sleep, not helped last night by DH snoring like a trooper. I gave up at 5.30am and am watching the news with a cuppa (and FZ!).

Cleo - good to hear from you and glad all is going well. When do you stop work? My LO is, I think, in residence on my bladder too, half the reason I cannot sleep. I am up for a wee about 5 times a night. Not sure if that is 'normal' or if I have a UTI - i'll mention it to the MW I think.

Lucy - sorry to hear re the carpal tunnel, it's so evil isn't it. I cannot believe you are on your feet for 9 hours! My ankles swell terribly every day now and I am only pottering around the house!

I had a tour of the birthing suite at my hospital yesterday and loved it. They are all about natural active birthing, so much so that they don't even have a bed in the delivery room, but do have birthing balls, pools, chairs etc as well as a kind of chaise lounge thingy you can have a rest on. The midwives all do aromotheraphy massage and you get 1 to 1 care. I asked if it was OK for me to give birth there given the IVF and they said absolutely no problem. AS getting pregnant was such a 'mechanical' process I am so keen on as natural a birth as i can have. One thing that annoyed me slightly was that one MW said 'well, we think all babies are equally precious', as if I was saying because my LO was IVF she was more important - how rude!

Hi everyone else, hope you're well. :xxx3:

Morning everyone and bumps,

Just wondering when you all started your antenatal classes. My mw mentioned it over 8 weeks a go but has never mentioned it again.

Net - that mw sounds rude. You would think she would understand as it's the mw that tellsi us we are having high risk pregnancy.

Hope everyone is well.

Have a good day ^^

Hi Lucy
I did my antenatla classes via NCT when I was 30 weeks PG as my local NHS ones aren't meant to be that good. Most of the ladies there were 34 weeks + though. Hope that helps!

I know the very feeling Lucyloo, I have 4 weeks left at work which feels like a mountain to climb especially as I'm 8 months on Wed :hmm: if I tell myself it's only 20 working days it doesn't sound so bad - who am I kidding :pah
Oh we're all so close ladies & I'm getting increasingly excited, never thought this day would come after such a journey - I keep  for all our babies to arrive safe n sound. I'm loving reading about all the new arrivals lurve
Net - hows your back? Mine sounds just like yours, hurts most when I'm sitting. I'm just heading for a long soak in the tub which seems to help :bath:

Hey ladies

How are we all?

Sazlou, my back is OK today but it was awful yesterday. It seems to be good one day and bad the next. What's worse is my swollen ankles, is anyone else getting this? My left foot is sooooo fat. My fingers are like sausages too, which is weird foir me as I have skinny hands and fingers (my wedding ring is a size F, which for those of you who know ring sizes will know is a children's size!).

I went outr for dinner last night, 3 courses. It was delicious but BIG mistake. I had acid reflux all night and didn't sleep until 4.30am! Was swigging gaviscon and feeling very sorry for myself. Serves me right for eating 3 courses. :piggy: Mind you I didn't learn as I baked rock cakes today. Yum.

I just watched 'Magic Mike' - ladies I highly recommend it! DH was slightly less impressed (for those of you who don't know it's about male strippers

Have a good evening all. Hope you're all well. :xxx3:

Morning lasses, how are you all doing? We had an early start as DH had to go to work extra early and unfortunately DD woke up too and wouldn't be convinced that it wasn't "wakey wakey time"! I haven't been on for a few days so will have to try and catch up on the personals, sorry if I miss anyone.

Waylou, congrats on getting a date for your c-section all those bleeds sounds awful.

Sazlou, I don't know how you are still working, I stopped 4 weeks before my EDD and although the first week or so I felt a bit of a skiver I am glad I did! But I know a lot of people who work really close to their dates and get on fine, think they liked the distraction (!), guess everyone is different!

Net, you seem to be having a hellish last few weeks of being pregnant, backache, carpal tunnel, swelling....you really must be counting the days! I only get carpal tunnel when I try to do anything intricate (I love knitting and haven't been able to do any for ages) I can't imagine having it all the time...just horrible. As for the swelling, please keep an eye on that and speak to your mw if it gets too bad. I have some swelling in my hands and feet and have just noticed my ankles in the last few days but think it depend what I've been doing!

Lucky loo, it sounds like your LO is behaving very well! The whooping cough job killed my arm too. I had antiD at the same time and that arm was totally fine, don't understand?! Have you found out anything about AN classes yet?

EmmaJayne, how are you doing? Love to hear from you!

Everyone else, hope you are all well.

AFM, 2 weeks today until due date! As I live on a small island I have to go and stay on the mainland for the last week. Luckily I am originally from the mainland so we are all moving in with my folks from next Monday, exciting! DH also home from this Friday (works away Monday to Friday) so it's really all happening aaaah!! nailbite

Hi all
just back from day assessment unit for monitoring as having pain under ribs all day + facial and leg swelling. BP up for me (147/97, I'm usually about 105/60!) but it went down as I was there. LO doing well, was havuing loads of braxton hicks whilst on the belt monitor which was weird to feel and watch the monitor graudally creep up! Discharged but to go back on Wednesday for more monitoring + prescription for rantadine as they think pain might be intestinal as no protein in urine and kidneys and liver blood tests all OK. I must say I cannot fault tyhe care I have had at my hospital which I was worried about as so many maternity units have shut near me recently and I know they are really squeezed for resource. So that was my afternoon!! Oh and head finally engaged 2/5 so she is heading in the right direction.

Clarabelle - I also had plans for knitting whilst on ML, the carpal tunnel has seen to that idea! When is your due date? I think it might be on my birthday (11th feb) from your ticker - a great day to be born

Phoebe - congrats again.

Hi ladies,

Net-glad your OK. Bet you can' t wait for you lo to arrive safely and you carpel tunnel to disappear.

Sazlou- I still have 5 weeks left at work and they can't come soon enough. How's your back have you invested in a maternity belt yet.

Clarabelle- how the mw go

Mrsandrws how are you getting on.

Hope all those lovely new mummy's are doing well.

Afm-day off today. Been shopping and when I went to go back to the car there was a black and white cat in my car and I am sure I didn't buy one from the shop :teehee: . also managed to pick up a new pair of curtains for my living room reduced from £100 to £20 bargain. Dh says we can decorate the living room and get a new carpet woo hoo. I have had a fire up in my spare room for 2 years so fingers crossed dh will put it on the wall in the summer.

Hi lasses,

Well just saw the MW and she says things are coming along fine. Head still not engaged but she said that with a second child sometimes it doesn't until you go into labour. But I think mine goes up and down, there wasn't much pressure down there when she was here compared to sometimes ;) So now I just have to wait until I'm nearly 40 weeks and phone the maternity department on the Mainland to arrange my next appointment. It's a weird thought that its really going to happen soon (sorry that makes me sound like an idiot, of course it's going to happen ?o( ) I am really getting excited about it, can't wait to meet our LO : D

Hope you're all having a good Wednesday?

Hi all

Clarabelle - glad all is going well, not much longer to go!
Lucyloo - did you evict the cat or take it home?!

Just back from the consultant, BP is back down a bit, still a bit high for me but within the normal range. Saw LO on ultrasound and all good. Also got some tablets for the heart burn and indigestion I have had, hopefully they will work. Am to go back at 39+5 to discuss whether I would be induced etc but sounds like they'll leave me to 41 weeks then have a sweep. Getting tons of braxton hicks now and shooting pains in cervix, am hoping LO decides to make an appearance before due date!

Hello to everyone else, hope you're all well.

Morning

Net - yes I did got a good freight though :teehee: . how you feeling. Good news about you bp.

Clarabelle - glad things are going well. Want be long till you are making your announcement.

Cleo - sounds like your lo is doing well and cooking nicely.

Sazlou - how you getting on ?

AFM - doing well. Lo doesn't seem to be moving much lately. Didn't know if that is normal but he is getting bigger so probably doesn't have much room to move. I suppose I am gonna worry right up until he is here.
