hello ladies

blessings - congratulations hon! what a wonderful weight and feeding well too, how brilliant.

I am afraid I am struggling to keep up with the news on this thread so wanted to send a general hello out to everyone. NikkiH - I think we cycled together in July so its lovely to see you on here.

Lovely - good luck for tomorrow hon, I am sure all will go well though I bet you dont sleep tonight its far too exciting.

Mrs Harper - do you work for a local authority school? that is bad behaviour if you do and you could report it. but remember legally you are entitled to all you antenatal appointments and there is nothing they can do about it!

I'm also struggling to keep up with everything happening on this thread! Exciting times!
Lovely, good luck for tomorrow! I remember you from the June jellybeans... I think you were one of our first BFP's? And now you will be a mummy tomorrow!
Geordie, it's good to hear that you're feeling better. I love your babies' names  It sounds like they are doing well and will hopefully be home soon.
Daezil, I hope you're enjoying the Gaviscon! Don't worry, soon you'll be able to swap it for a - very - small glass of wine!
Mrs Harper, you have got it coming from all sides, don't you? Poor thing :cuddle Your boss sounds like a nightmare! Good luck with dealing with everything! :faint:
I hope everyone else is doing well!

AFM, I have 2 days of work left! Wooo Hooo!!! I am feeling much mere energetic today than the last few weeks though... I wonder if that means something? Still booked in for the c-section on the 17th and can't wait!

Bravegirl... I do work for a LA school but as I'm so close to the end now I don't want to get HR involved, however had this been an issue sooner then I certainly would!! ... As for antenatal apps .. if I find out I need more she will just have to deal with it!!

AFM, Seeing midwife tomo at 2pm... hoping my lil bump has caught up to size xfingers

Massive waves and hugs to you all!

Im so sorry that I havent been around for months on end! I bet some of you dont even remember me but its nice to see some familiar names and that everyone is doing as well as can be!

I have had a horrendous couple of months, around christmas my elderly father callapsed and was taken into hospital, he was lucky to be alive considering he has severe carbon monoxide poisening from fire in the living room, as soon as it was discovered i rushed to my parents home to find my mum and nana also in the house completely lathergic, i managed to get them out and the gasboard fixed the problem, but i was just in a state of shock, they are all very lucky and fine now, although my dad was hit harder and is still battling severe pneamonia (sp) We just hope his condition improves.

A few weeks after christmas my poor fur baby (Doggy) took very ill, she is only 2, and we couldnt work out what was wrong, que a visit to the vets, she was diagnosed with a disease that has eaten through her pancreas and liver, its a lifelng disease and she is on a special very expensive diet for life now, although when we were trying to help her pull through it, and the chances of her living were very low, it was incredible destressing, i cried for days! She could do nothing but howl in pain, i didnt sleep for days trying to comfort her and neither did she, the pain she had to battle through while the disease was at its worst was heartbreaking, i was so pleased when the problem was diagnosed and we managed to help her, but it came at a cost... as she wasnt insured we had to find £850 in vets fees in the space of 3 weeks ust after christmas, needless to say that was all of our money gone, and were really suffering, but she is alive, and im finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel...

Im 34 weeks and 1 day pregnant now... I cant wait to meet our little girl and just get on with life happily, i just wish all these horrible things hadnt happened to taint the end of the most precious time in our lifes, but we have come through it, and just hoping that bad luck doesnt really come in 3's ... as we have had ENOUGH!

So im very sorry for completely forgetting the forum and not checking in at all to update, I just didnt have the strength. i look forward to catching up with you all and hope everyone is doing good!

Love and hugs... Kym xxx

Morning ladies,

Ktf, glad ur back with us chick, I have posted in your diary and just glad you and baba are both ok.not long to go now!

Mrs harper, hope the mw appt went ok, just try to ignore all the stressful stuff at work and concentrate on finishing next week and then all the joy you will have after that.

Babybump, not long now only a week and last day at work, hope it goes ok.

Bravegirl, hope your ok, it's your scan today isn't it?? Hope it goes ok.

Lovely, I hope everything went ok and you are all ok.

Daezil, I have also been experiencing a ratty dh, I apparently wake him up when I take my half a dozen trips to the bathroom everynight, I suggested if he was that tired he slept on the couch or one of the babies cotbeds, that soon shut him up. To be honest he has been fabulous so I think he may be getting nervous now so maybe that is what it is with your dh. Gaviscone is also my best friend, my mouth feels awful from the lovely chalky texture!

Geordie, glad you are home and on the mend, sounds like the babies are doing well, their names are gorgeous. Take care and keep us updated.

AFM,
Struggling with my pregnancy, in a lotof pain with my back, hip, pelvis and girly bits but babies are doing well and I finished work last Friday so it's a lot easier now I am not rushing around. Had another scan last week and baby girls head is now down as well and she has loads of hair, couldn't believe we could see it. The nursery is finally finished and I can't stop going in there.

I had a lovely last day at work last Friday, got some gorgeous presents and vouchers, was really overwhelmed, I can't believe how generous people can be. We were at the consultants yesterday and they expect the twins to make an appearance anytime but have confirmed that if babas haven't arrived they will induce me at 37 weeks so hopefully only a couple of weeks to go.

Got a busy week next week, dentists Monday, scan Wednesday, mw appt Thursday and consultants on Friday when we will hopefully get our date to get induced.

Hope everyone else is ok, sorry if I missed anyone out.

Hi Everyone,
Well I'm definitely 3rd trimester now and trying to pass the time at work until I finish so will no doubt be popping on here loads.

Jay - glad you're finally finding time to relax, your pregnancy sounds painful, not long now though and it'll all be worth it, how exciting you'll have a date soon.

Kym - what a horrid time you've been having. You've done really well to stay on top of things. Fingers crossed for a smooth last couple of weeks and I think you're owed a nice easy delivery

Mrs H - you're so good keeping quiet at your boss, I'd probably tell her where to shove it! Like you say, not long now though. How are you feeling about the homebirth in the new place? If you've any questions about QE2 as a backup plan feel free to ask. I often sit in the peartree centre and wonder if any of the other ladies are you!!

Lovely - hope all has gone well and looking forward to hearing news.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

AFM - no news! In the sort of plodding along stage I think. 9 weeks to go until induction but only 3 weeks left at work, hurrah. Lots of wriggling from baby James, he'll be a terror who never sits still just like his big bro I think.

I am sorry but I cannot do personals to everyone but I hope all is doing well.

Well its my Due Date today and it doesnt feel like a lot is going on. If I had a £ for everytime someone said "baby will come when its ready" Its driving me mad now!! lol

I went for a long walk today to try and get things started and am going to start on the pineapple tomorrow and maybe a lovely hot curry tomorrow night. I will try anything. Even considering the [zx084] option!

Hello All
just the briefest note saying hi to all,
welcome to the new additions - Blessing: we are still baby buddies!
My excellent news is that little baby Alexander was born on the 3 Feb at 5.57 in the morning after a 30 hour labour by c-section. We came home on Sat, but it's been non-stop since. Recovering well, although Alex needs to put on more weight after losing about 12% of his birth weight which was 6pounds 14 oz.
But am loving every minute of it - he's the most beautiful little thing with the greatest character already :-)
Love and wishes to all

Congratulations Mima. Fab news.

Tessalina hope baby comes soon.

Kym welcome back. Sounds like you've ad a rough time.

Aww Jay not long now. Glad you got the nursery finished. You gonna put some pics in your diary?

AFM - had a scare yesterday or should I say I scared myself. Grace was very quiet 2 days ago then woke up yesterday morning and didn't feel her. Had breakfast and still nothing. So I called the hospital and told me to come straight down. They hooked me up to a monitor and she was fine just very sleepy. We woke her up with some lucosade before they were happy to let me go. She is not moving anywhere near as much as she was and it's scaring me. Loosing sleep if I get back to bed and don't feel her. I guess this is the way our lives will be forever (full of worry) I just love her so much and I've not even met er yet.

Sorry if I have missed anyone. Hope you are all well.

Xx

Hi ladies,

On here a lot more now I'm on mat leave, having trouble getting about so cabin fever is setting on lol!

Caz, not long to go, 9 weeks and counting. 3 weeks till mat leave, I bet you can't wait.

Tessalina, I would be trying everything myself, curry, sex, raspberry tea and pineapple. Hopefully baba make an appearance soon.

Mima, :congrats: Congrats on the arrival of baby Alex.

Wishing, I will try to upload some pictures but it's a bit temperamental sometimes. I am so sorry you went through the scare and your not going to believe it but I also had the same scare yesterday, baby boy hadn't really moved yesterday, I tried the cold drink and sugar rush trick but he didn't seem want to move, baby girl was moving like mad but baby boy was still quiet. It's really scary so I know how you felt. Hope it reassured you and you feel better now.

AFM. Little scare yesterday with baby boy being quiet so I went the hospital and got monitored, he was just having a quiet one but is fine. I think that because baby girl is so active it highlights how laid-back baby boy is but maybe I panicked a bit, clearly I have gottoo much time on my hands lol!! No the main thing is that they are both ok and I can feel a bit more reassured. Just can't wait for them to arrive now.

Ladies.

Thank you so much for your lovely messages and kind words....Aaaaw thanks for making me and Kaleb feel so special

My lil man is one week old today and had him registered yesterday and at the Dr's also he's a good baby, only crys when he wants to be fed and his nappy changing, so he mainly just eats and sleeps.

Anyway, Sorry I have not been around but I have been so busy with the baby and being a new Mummy. He is so demanding my lil boy, always wants to fed and I am breasfeeding which I find really tiring and my boobies are so sore ( my nipples ) Oh, I did get stitches and is feeling a little sore, got swollen feet too which don't seem to be going down. My lil man has also picked up a cold, so taking him to the DR tomorrow, my poor baby.

I will try to pop back in and upload a pic and write about my labour etc...I did log in the otherday and started writing about my labour but lost it so thought I'd come back and do it.

Better go now, time to feed baby.

Speak soon and take care, will pop in soon as I get some time......Love you all

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx from Kaleb's Mummy

OMG MIMA.! Can't believe we did it again haha our babies were born on the same day, my labour was 28 hours and ventouse delivery ( if thats the correct spelling ) delivery

Mima and Lovely, congratulations! Wonderful news on the arrival of your babies! Hope you are all well. :congrats: :congrats:

Blessings, glad to hear all is going well with you and Kaleb. Hope you are recovering well.

AFM, d-day is Sunday! Been having fairly strong twinges most nights then everything goes away again! Hoping it won't be much longer now though, just so excited and can't wait to meet our little one! Been drinking the good old the raspberry leaf tea every day now for about 3 weeks and on my gym ball every night. Had the Consultant on Wednesday and everything is fine. Baby's head is way down which is great. I have the MW on Tuesday and she will do a sweep, if I've not gone then, and also book me in for induction about 10 days post d-day, just in case.

Anyway, being lazy tonight and having pizza which should arrive soon so better go.

Hi to everyone else.

Take care and keep well.

W&H and Jamiej, sorry to hear about your scares. I worry about movements too. Babies do move less during the 3rd tri simply because they are running out of room but you should still feel them move, often more wriggles and stretches and fewer bigger kicks/punches. My MW said you should make sure you get at least 10 a day and if baby is quiet to have something sweet and sit/lie down and feel the movements and count them and if they are still quiet to seek advice, so you are right to get it checked out if you think they are particularly quieter than usual. Glad everything is okay, it is non-stop worrying isn't it and will be forever now, but all worth it.

Hi Lovely Ladies
Blessings – I am glad all is good and you and Kaleb are doing well. Apart from your sore nipples bless ya!
Lovely – Many Congratulations on the arrival of Ethan. I am pleased all is well :congrats:
Tiggs – Hopefully only a few days for you now too. Will be keeping my fingers crossed your on time
Scoffs – Welcome to 3rd Tri thread. I recognise your name from some of the other forums?
Jamiej – I have tried spicy food, long walks and the sex was offered last night but DH was too tired lol. Glad all is OK with your little uns. I bet that was scary for you
Wishing & Hoping – Glad all is OK with Grace. But you are right that the worry will probably continue for many many years to come!
Mima – Congratulations on the safe arrival of Alexander. :congrats:
AFM – Well I am 40+2 now and no change. Another long walk today which was difficult towards the end. I think the weight of the bump was giving me pains. I just hope that something happens over the weekend. Also, if one more person says to me that “baby will come when its good and ready” I am going to scream! Also the people who always say that as its my 1st then its bound to be late! I find these sorts of comments really unhelpful.
I am off now to eat a huge bowl of Cornish cream ice cream and then to bounce on my ball for a bit.

Hey girlies!

Blimey SOOOOO much has happened since I last posted! So much so that I have had to go through with my notepad again so that I don't miss anyone!!

Have got major baby brain at min, think I'd forget my name given the chance! Been feeling rather hormonal recently ... one min irritible, then happy, then crying for no apparent reason!! Normal????

Keep the Faith - sorry to hear of all you have been through over Christmas, I hope that your family are recovering well. Must have been such a scary ordeal! And your poor doggy too - I hope she is getting stronger :cuddle

Jay - Thanks for your thoughts hun, how are you doing? ...My MW update to follow!

Caz - Nice to see your back! One more week to tolerate of my work and then half term to pack up for the move!! ...Been to visit QE2 so know what to expect if I have to be transferred, ..got to say we were pleasantly surprised! Got my birth pool arriving Monday tho! ..Envy your early mat leave, hope your doing well!

Mima - :congrats: on the birth of Alexander! For some reason I thought you were due the same day as me, must be my baby brain!!

Amanda/Jay - I know what you mean r.e. worries over baby's movements! We got to remember they are getting bigger tho and so running out of room! My midwife said 10 movements in 24hrs is guideline but she would not ignore a lack of moves in 12 hrs... she told me to have ice lollies if i am worried and call if no action!! Hope this helps xx

Scoffs - Welcome! :)

Blessings - Glad to hear you and Kaleb are doing so well! Hope Kaleb is recovering from his snuffles and your nipples are feeling better :snigger:

Lovely - :congrats: on the birth of Ethan!! So glad all gone well for you, look forward to hearing your birth story!

Tess - Not long now, you must be getting v excited! I would give the [zx084] a try esp as its valentines! my hypnobirthing teacher highly recommends it! Gets the oxytocin going which is meant to help induce labour naturally! :snigger:

Tiggs - Hope your lil one arrives soon! Thanks for your bump advice [zx127]

well, guess my update on mw will have to wait, my teas ready!! :snigger: be back later

love to all xx xx

Induction of Labour due to IVF/ICSI at term

Hi Girls

I know I am a few days early to be posting on here, but I though you girls would be more in the know regarding the question I have. I have been to see my consultant today and he tells me that with IVF/ICSI pregnancies, they like to arrange induction at term as there are risks involved if you go over term - more so than with a natural birth. I have had a look on the net to try and find out more info but I can't find anything! Also by term, do you think he meant 40 or 37 wks? I am soooo confused!

Thanks for your help guys - see more of you all next week!! ?(

hmmm I've not heard of that and most defiantly have not been told that. Did he say how are there more risks? We're carrying babies like everyone else now, just had some assistance to get here :) I hope not, I'd like to be treated the same as everybody else :)

Hello
Term I presume would be 40 weeks. I have to say I have never heard of IVF babies having to be induced if they dont come out before due date. I was11 days over and was induced because she was quite happy in there.
I know that IVF babies/ pregnancies are classed as 'precious babies' and maybe your consultant is being extra precautious and letting you meet your LO ASAP or it could be different guidlelines for different hospitals.

Good luck with everything x

lulabella, I am afraid that is total rubbish!!!!!! the best thing for baby is to go full term and induction is not the best way to go.

IVF babies are no more at risk of anything than naturlly conceived babies other than maybe early losses but half the time that is becuase we know we are pregnant earlier than natural pregnancies.

Please please I beg of you either get a second opinion or else just refuse to be induced or else ask the consultant to provide you with WRITTEN research proving this to be the case. Please do not be bullied into an induction you do not need. xxxxx

I have to agree with BG on this one Lulabella. A baby is a baby. IVF makes no difference whatsoever.

I had an induction due to my LO not moving from 29 weeks but my cons said that he wouldn't induce earlier than 38 weeks and it was the worst thing ever.

Unless your cons can provide you with written evidence that this NEEDS to happen I would get a second opinion and even speak to your MW.

A lot of doctors who don't deal with IVF or fertility treatment have no idea about it.

Your LO is no different to a naturally conceived LO now. They're growing the same in the same way. Unless there is a medical reason there is no need to induce at term.

Thanks to everyone for such a quick response - you have all put my mind at rest - I thought it was a little bizzare - I am wondering now if there are other underlying reasons why he may have said this? I do have a low placenta (although he said that there is a 90% chance it will move in time for hte birth) and I did have some bleeding a couple of months ago. Anyway, when I see him again in 4 weeks time, I am really going to quiz him about when and why and what the pros and cons would be.

Thanks again - I look forward to getting to know you all in the next few weeks!!

Lots of Love xx

placenta location would not impact on induction, just on whether you need a c section.

bleeding is more common with low placenta too but again, not sure that would indicate the need for inductionn x

Lulabell

I have the exact same thing happening to me, there is also a similar thread where someone in the cornwall pct was told the same thing... apparently there is some study that shows that ivf babies have more complications if they go overdue, i have been looking and requesting this study for months now, no such thing exists and it truly is a load of rubbish.

I am being induced at term, well, the day after my due date, because they kept asking me to let them do an induction due to it being an ivf pregnancy, the things they told me were the placenta isnt as effective after term and so they prefer to start labour as they know exactly when conception happened, but im not going ahead with induction because of there stupid studies or stats as i know they are wrong, the ivf makes no difference to the baby!

Dont let them push you into an induction you dont want, just make a decision based on what you want. These consultants really do have no idea sometimes!

AFM - things have been much better at home, my dad is going for surgery in a week or so then after the recovery he should be allowed home, its been a long stay in hospital, i hope he is out and well intime for meeting his first granchild. My dog is also doing much better although im not getting much time to rest, i am severely nesting! Is anyone else? lol, hospital bags are packed, my bump has dropped and i cant walk, i just waddle, hehe, cant wait for our little lady to get here!

Hi All,
I too have never heard of IVF being a reason for induction, everything I've been told is that post 12 weeks you are treated as per any normal pregnancy as that is what we are. I did think I'd just write a bit about induction though as I was induced at 38 weeks for DS1 and will be again for DS2 due to GD. I know it's something people fear as there are so many horror stories so just thought I'd give a slightly more positive view of it. In my case I was and am being induced so they can monitor the entire labour closely and check the baby's blood sugars as soon as he is born. I was well looked after and had a smooth natural birth without pain relief. People say induced labours take longer, well mine was 2 and 1/2 hours so this is not always the case. Admittedly there was no stage 1 for me and I went straight into the thick of it so there was no option for pain relief but I just thought it was worth telling you guys it is still possible with an induction to do things your way (sort of). Everyone will have their own experience, and absolutely you must fight for what you want, but the majority of the time the midwife team are trying to give you the safest experience with your LOs health as a top priority. I guess what I'm trying to say is don't listen too much to what others tell you (including me!!) and do what you think is right for you!

Hi ladies,

Well I to have been treated as if our pregnancy was conceived naturally after our 7 week scan confirmed the pregnancy. I haven't had any special treatment because I had ivf in fact Liverpool Womens told me I didn't even have to tell any doctors/mw about how my babas were concieved if I didn't want to.

Lulabella, I would just speak to your mw/consultant and make the decision based on what they say and what your comfortable with. I have found every hospital/ consultant treats pregnancies different and i think it's more about getting the right balance between yours and the babies safety and how you want your labour to go.

I am pregnant with twins and am being induced hopefully next week at 37 weeks not due to any issue withthe babies but because I can hardly walk/move or do anything. I discussed it with my consultant/mw and hubby and we are comfortable that this won't have an adverse affect on my labour and we are hoping that our birth plan can still be followed but if not the main thing is that the 3 of us are ok. Goodluck in sorting this one out, I an sure you will come up with the best solution for you both.

I hope all you other ladies are ok and your pregnancies are all progressing well.

AFM, just bored being at home now, by day 3 of mat leave I was texting dh saying I was bored. Itdoesn't help that I can't do anything. All the house is done now, babiesroom is done, baby seats fitted, hospital bags ready, garage sorted so I can get the long wheel base pram through it as we aren't going to be able to get it up the front door steps and through the front door, just missing the stars of the show the babas! Keep talking to them asking them to make a move but they are obviously very comfy. Got another scan today, mw tomorrow and consultant on Friday so should know our date of inducement by the end of the week, yeh!!

Hope u are all ok.

Hey Ladies

Can i join you all, cant actually believe i am in my last trimester, i am really scared now as i know labour is on the horizon. And watching one born every minute probably dosent help lol xx

Lulabella after reading about your question, i had a consultant appt with the hospital i am attending to have LO and she says she wouldnt allow me to go more than 7 days over my due date as with icsi the conception date is accurate. I agree with the other girls get a 2nd opinion.

Jamie j how are you feeling about being induced soon?

Keep the faith, sounds like you have been through a terrible time, its not nice when all you want to do is enjoy your pregnancy but sounds like there is light at the end of the tunnel, i ahve been through something similar mother in law not been well and in and out of hospital just want her to be okay for baby arriving which is looking good at the momment xx

Tessalina any news ?

AFM suffering heartburn anyone any tips?? Went for my 4d scan at the weekend and it was amazing!! Counting down the days until i leave work as i am really tired now 4 weeks to work. Going to try and get the nursery sorted in the next few weeks cant wait until it is finished.

Anyways better go work calls

I woud just like to say a massive thank you to everyone who took time to reply to my post. I have taken it all on board and will see what is said over the next few weeks. I must say though, my case does seem slightly different to everyone elses because I haven't been treated the same as naturally conceived pregnancies, for example I have had an appointment with the consultant every 4 weeks since developing OHSS in the very early stages so maybe this is related in some way.

Caz, thanks for your informative email - its nice to hear a positive story!

Good luck to all - speak to you next week when I will be eiligable!

Hi Ladies
Mrs Harper -I have felt quite hormonal and cry at the drop of a hat. I cried the other day cos my husband is getting a bit of a bald patch and I felt really sorry for him lol!!
Lulabella – I have never heard of early induction for IVF babies. As far as I am aware once we reach 7 weeks then we are the same as a “normal” pregnancy. I am 7 days overdue today and am being let go 12 days and my consultant also worked for the IVF clinic so he should know. I would get a 2nd opinion if you are not happy.
Keep the Faith – I didn’t really have the nesting. My DH was hoping for that to kick in so I would help with the cleaning lol. I loved getting the nursery all set up but think that was just cos it was fun rather than nesting. I hope your Dad is doing well.
Caz – Thanks for sharing your experiences on induction. I am due in on Monday and am dreading it! So to read yours were not too bad makes me feel better.
Jamiej – i am the same and am finding the boredom hard to deal with. I am lucky though as my mum is visiting from Spain so at least I have some company. Plenty of dvd’s and books should help!
Feefo – Welcome to third tri sweetie. For heartburn I have found the Gaviscon tablets my best friend!! Pop at least 4 a day. My mum keeps saying my baby will be born with loads of hair.
AFM- Well I am 41 weeks today and no luck at my 2nd stretch and sweep. My midwife couldn’t reach my cervix either. But on the positive side I think I had a bit of a show this morning. Twice when I went to the toilet I have egg white consistency. 2nd time it was pinkish in colour. So fingers crossed. I have my induction booked for Monday at 9am but I do want to go into natural labour. I am more worried about being put on the drip as this will restrict my movement. I want an active birth and thr thought of being made to lie on the bed is not what I wanted at all!!!! Will keep you posted if any movement.
I am going to give the Hall of Fame an update as Blessings was doing this before her LO arrived. I may not be around to carry it on so maybe there is a volunteer to take this on?
I have tried to work out some due dates but may have got them wrong so please let me know if I have and also anyone I have missed I am sorry just let me know and I will update

Hi all,

Hope everyone is well.

KTF - I'm so sorry to hear of the terrible time you have had recently. Glad to hear your Dad and your doggie are doing better now though. Hopefully you can start to relax a bit now and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy waiting for the arrival of your little one.

Lulabella - I echo what others have said in that unless there are any medical reasons, you should be treated as any other pregnant lady. If they still insist on treating you otherwise, ask for a second opinion and/or written evidence so they can justify to you why.

Babybump - good luck for your c-section tomorrow. I can totally understand you being nervous but try to remain calm and just think as soon as it is over with you will have your little one in your arms! How exciting!

Tess - snap! I went for a sweep yesterday but my MW couldn't even reach my cervix because baby's head was so low, which is a good thing though. However just in case I don't go myself, she has also booked me in for induction on Monday, at 10:30am. Like you I am quite anxious about it as would really rather go myself and not be restricted but we'll just have to wait and see! At least we have a date which is not too far away and know our little ones will be here by this time next week!

Caz - thanks for sharing your induction experience. If I do end up having the induction on Monday I hope it is as straight forward as yours was!

Hi to everyone else and welcome to the newbies.

Take care all and keep well.

xxxxx

Hey all! Lots going on in here at min!

Baby Bump - All the best for tomorrow! How exciting!

Tessalina - Thanks for getting back to my essay, seems I got lost in the math of new news!

Lulabella - I agree with the other girls that what you have been told is a load of rubbish. I was hospitalised with OHSS at the beginning of my pregnancy for 3 weeks and took 8+ to fully recover. I have also been monitored throughout whole pregnancy monthly and now weekly. I am having a homebirth, had a low lying placenta but has now moved.. all the best to you. I would avoid induction unless they can give you a medical reason for its use or its something u and dh want, as some girlies with twins have opted for.

Caz - many thanks for your positive birthing stories :)

Me - I have got my homebirth girlies .... wooooooo hoooooooooooooo partee ...all booked in and so excited! My birth pool has also arrived! :) Yey!! ...Now just need to finish work and move house before our baby girl decides to make her appearance!

So excited!! Scans at 4, 6, 8, 12, 20 and awaiting private 4D at 28wks, Growth scan & Placenta position at 32 weeks...pls move so I can have my homebirth!

Morning ladies,

Hi feefo, welcome to 3rd tri!! I am fine with being induced, I am 37 weeks on Saturday and the babas are counted as full term then. I had a scan today and they are estimating each baby at 7-7.5 Ibs each which means I am carrying 14-15 Ibs plus extra amniotic fluid and 2 placentas around. I am in a lot of pain now and have really restricted movement which is putting a lot of stress on me physically and emotionally and I haven't slept properly for weeks so am tired and ratty. All this isn't helping me or babas so i feel it's the best thing all round. As for the heartburn, i am guzzling gaviscon liquid like there is no tomorrow, I managed to get it through my doctor on prescription which was a bonus and its so expensive, plus it felt good to finally get a bit back of what I have been paying into the system for the last 15 years of working, lol!!!

Loulabella, you will come to the right decision yourself, good luck.

Tessalina, it's rubbish, I have only been on mat leave for a week and a half and I am going stir crazy, it doesn't help that I can't go anywhere or do anything! Good luck for Monday but hope it starts moving for you before then and thanks for the hof update.

Hi babybump, good luck for tomorrow, your gonnabe a mommy, yeah!!!

Tiggs, good luck for Monday as well, hope it happens before then but if not there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Mrs harper, woooo hoooo homebirth here you come! So glad your getting what you want and hope it all goes to plan.

AFM, had scan yesterday, babies are fine but average sized babies. I am tired now and can't wait to see my consultant on Friday, fingers crossed I get a date to be induced. Going to attempt to go out for half an hour today after the midwife, might nip to m&s for a nursing bra. Other than that just waiting......

Hope everyone is good.

Hey induction ladies, you might not get as far as the drip as pessaries often do the job and you can then be as active as you like. Funnily enough I ended up finding the bed the most comfy even though I could have moved about!

Hello Girls

I had an appt with the midwife today and she has informed me that they advise induction at term becuase I had a bleed at 23 weeks, which was confirmed to be some of the placenta breaking away. This has lead to a slight weakening in my placenta . Aparently the placenta does not work as stronly once at term and as we have had IVF, they know the exact date of conception and dont want to risk the placenta failing, which makes quite a lot of sens really. She said that due to the baby being IVF and all that we have already been through, they dont want to risk the placenta going into failure and more complications occuring. So I guess it is not that IVF babies are treated any differently, other than the exact date of conception is known, which really is a bonus for our little ones and kind of gives them the upper hand!!

Do you think this sounds more plausable?? I am happy with it now that I will be induced at 40 weeks, if I haven't already had bub naturally that is!!

Please could my due date be added to the wall - 8th May, thank you xxx

Hi ladies

OMG - it has taken me half hour to catch up with you all!

KTF - good to hear from you again. Sorry you have had such a traumatic time, how emotional for you. Wishing your dad a speedy recovery. Take care of yourself.

Babybump - my word the 17th has come round quick - thinking of you and looking out for your news :hugs:

Jay - wow - I thought I felt heavy and I am only carrying around one baba! Poor you - you must be cream crackered.

Just really make the most of your own time (I'm sorry if thats a cliche that everyone says but I feel it was the most valuable advice that I was given). It sounds like you may only have another week to go then - how exciting.

Mima - :congrats: on your new arrival, my dd lost 15% of her birth weight and was slightly jaundice so I fully understand the worry that you must have had. Take care x

Lovely - :congrats: to you on your blue bundle of joy x

W & H and Jay - sorry you have had those scares. The worrying never seems to leave us eh! Glad to hear all is well xx

Feefo - I too am getting mega indigestion although (dare I say it) it seems to have calmed down this week and I dont think my bump has dropped. Large bottle of gaviscon from the quacks on prescription should help. also, I asked my mw and she said (to my surprise) dairy. So I have been making myself latte type decaff coffees at home 2/3 milk.

Tessalina - sounds like a show. Maybe today is your day. Good luck, I bet you are getting chuffed off with the waiting now!!! Thanks a lot for posting the HOF as I was missing off the last one and its nice to see everyones dates.

Tiggs - All the best for Monday or maybe before!

Lulabella - I think maybe they are just being extra careful with you, which personally I think it is good that you are being noted and monitored. With my last pregnancy once they established I had a hernia I had a lot of extra appointments with the Cons. I was glad that someone took me under their wing to be honest as the GP had misdiagnosed me. Each to their own and ditto to what everyone has said its not a bad thing to ask the questions and get a 2nd opinion.

Hi to Caz, Bravegirl and Blessings - apologies if I have missed anyone. blowkiss
