Hey,

Dusky- Hows my lovely friend? How exciting a 4D scan. I really really want one but obviously dont know the sex and still dont want to and im sure the 4D scan will show that up. So ill just have to wait another 9 weeks. Make sure you send me a piccie. What you been upto today, anything interesting?

Stinky- Glad your midwife appointment went well. Your DS sounds like a real cutie...bet hes excited isnt he? Not got much planned for the weekend, im on leave from work but ive said ill pick up an extra shift tommorow. Sounds good at the time, but really wish i hadnt now!!!! Just need to think of the pennies. Sounds like your going to be busy sorting a birthday party.

Whiteangel- Really hope your baby decides to make an appearance this weekend. How exciting! I remember reading your post when you just got your BFP, cant believe how time has flown. xxx

Hi honey, I'm good thanks, well, apart from the not sleeping part...not been up to much really. Did some shopping and sorted stuff in the house yesterday. And watched the Olympics obviously :) great tennis! Oh, and didn't eat chocolate, that's a first for a while!!

Can't wait for the scan, though also a bit apprehensive as it looks a bit freaky too... DD going to her godmothers for a few hours which she'll love, she comes to all the other scans but I thought this might be a bit strange.

Take it easy at work today hon x hope Poppy's ok xxxxxxxx

Hi lovely Louise, great to have you with us!! : D

It is a bit mad here, seriously getting fed up of all the mess and dirt and stuff EVERYWHERE!! Like everything in its place and all that so after nearly 2 years it's grating...nearly there...though DH said he'd be finished by the time LO comes But when I reminded him yesterday that he'd said that he laughed...hmmm

Hope everyone is having a good weekend xxxxxxx

Quick question... Baby movements. My lo doesn't appear to have patterns really or not that I can tell. He moves (little wriggles) often but big movements are more obvious every other day?! When should I be worried and any tips about how to monitor the movements? I know I'm a worry wart :( I just want to make sure he's ok... I seem to worry a lot. What movements count as movements and how many should I feel? Thanks all and sorry ?o( ?o(

Louise all kicks and movement count, does not matter how small or big hun!!!! I dont think i noticed any patterns with my kicks, i did notice he was more active after i had eaten somethng sugary. I think aslong as you are feeling kicks regular throughout the day they are not concerned, i think sometimes you dont realise how active they are as well. They also say f your worried and you ave not felt anything for a while drink a cold drink and lie down on your left side. We all worry about everything, i am 40w + 3 days today and still worrying lol.

I lost my show this morning and my hind waters also went, went into hospital to be checked. Mnitored for an hour, baby fine, having mini contractions but fore waters are still intact so i am back home pkaying the waiting game again. Hopefully things will get going now

Great news on your scan dusky! Pity the measuring ahead doesn't seem to correlate with them coming early! Mine was always at least 2 weeks ahead, so I thought he would arrive early too, but sadly no such luck! I guess he'll just be a big boy when he does come!

Welcome to the 3rd trimester other girls!

Morning girls

Just checking in to see how your all getting on.

Lousie - i found if i was busy at work during the day i didn't notice movement as much, but when i got home and relaxed he would kick hell out of me lol. Also the cold water or hot drink works, i think your supposed to go onto your left side after drinking and should get 10 movements in an hour. I also found chocolate and fruits like pineapple/mango/grapefruit also worked for me.
If your worried go and get checked out i didn't have much movement for a day and a half (stupidly left it that long as i didn't want to bother the midwifes) and when i eventually phoned for advice was given a telling off for waiting so long, anyway everything was fine but baby was breech and that's why i couldn't feel anything.

Hope your all well

Take care x

woohoo Taffycaz - how exciting...hope you are going to meet your precious little baby real soon. Looking forward to hearing your wonderful news :thumbsup2: X

Dusky - sorry I didn't pop into your diary on Saturday to wish you HAPPY 30 WEEKS...HAPPY BELATED 30 WEEKS twinnie blowkiss Glad your 4D scan was amazing and how lovely that you could tell that your little baby girl looks like DD when she was born. Will pop in to your diary later when DS is asleep!!!! X

Hi Claire - hope you had a nice weekend...just think not many left now until you meet your little baby boy/girl!!!! Are you still thinking boy? X

Hope419 - WOW not long to go then...2 weeks or less hopefully xfingers Are you in hospital just for a check-up today? X

Louise - my movements are quite irregular as well although I do tend to notice them more when I sit down in the evening when DS has gone to bed. I don't think it matters if they are little or big as long as you feel them. There have been a couple of times that I haven't felt much one day but then the next day the little monkey has gone wild and kicked me ALL DAY. Like the others have said if you are worried then phone your midwife...that's what she is there for and I'm sure she would rather you phone than worry blowkiss X

:hi: to everyone else in the 3rd tri. Hope you all have a good Monday XXXX

Thanks all :) have been trying to take a little more notice of movements - he's very active in the morning and then a few times during the day and the few odd kicks in the evenings - is this enough? He is breech and sometimes feel kicking movements down (unpleasant!) rather than out.

If your worried hon, just call your MW, that's what the're there for. The downward ones are weird aren't they, straight in the bladder mostly too! :)

We weren't sure about the scan either last time, plus the extra expense, but it was such fun : D She is weighing 4 1/2 lbs already 8|

WOW twinnie 4 and a half pounds already :thumbsup2: How heavy was DD? X

Louise - the downward kicks on your bladder are so wierd aren't they...they tickle me down there and I always have to go for a wee after!!!! I'm no expert but your little man's movements sound fine to me...I saw my midwife last Thursday and she said not to worry as long as you feel at least 10 movements (of any kind) in a 24 hour period. I think sometimes if you are busy you don't notice movements as much - it's not until I actually sit down that I usually feel Tanglesticky X

Something must be happening with Taffy :thumbsup2: Soooooooooooooooooooo exciting!!!! X

Oh no Taffy. I thought you were so busy with newborn snuggles you had forgotten about us. A friend had a little girl at 5:30am 9 days late. She was booked in for a sweep today but doesn't need it. It's our wedding anniversary tomorrow and I did predict I would spend it in labour! Had a really sore back a little while ago but think it was just the way I was sitting! Come on babies we are really fed up now! Xx

It is so frustrating white angel I just thought I would have had him by now. Hubby has taken the day off work today to spend it with me as he can see how disappointed I am. Keeping self busy, just watching the velodrome, loving the cycling, hopefully the excitement might get me going lol.

The only seat I can comfortably sit in is right in front of the TV so I have done nothing but watch Olympics. Spent a lot of time perusing athlete's names for inspiration but can't even pronounce most of them x

Oh shame girls, hang in there! They will be worth the wait.

I tried a bath with clary sage essential oil (meant to strengthen labour) tonight and had to get out as Speckle went ballistic! I think he got agitated, I've never had any movement like it, it was quite distressing! Might work for you guys though who are further along. Good for sniffing during labour apparently. You can get it at Boots...

Good luck girls and WAngel I hope you get a very special anniversary present!

Hello ladies-Ive finally made it!
Nice to see its such a busy thread.Hopefully you November ladies will be having babies anytime now.Over here they dont let you go more than 10 days over your due date-
whats the general rule over there? It must be so hard after all this time-I know Im uncomfortable already!
Is everyone organised? What themes have you gone for for the nursery?Dusky sounds like you are going for a full revamp! We are renting at the moment so decorating will be limited.
We have all the furniture in place but just need to add materials and wall decors etc to give it some personality.I wanted pink and faires but think I will compromise with DH and go
for an enchanted wood theme.
Hows everyone doing?

Welcome berecka!
You know you are near your due date when more people jinx this thread!
I went for the pink and white theme with hearts. Love it! Room looks great!
Berecka I am at the hospital today so going to discuss going over. Think we shouldn't have to as sure of our dates due treatment. What do you think?

Seems to really depend on where you live. Sweep at 41w and induction at 42w or when they can fit you in! Dreading another 10 days. Slept badly again last night. Head was buzzing and pelvis really painful whenever I try to roll over. Trying not to be grumpy for our wedding anniversary but failing miserably! I've suggested going out for tea but really can't be bothered! Xx

Happy anniversary Whiteangel! It must be hard trying to celebrate when physically you mustnt feel up to it.Remember that in years to come you will look back on today and laugh about it with DH.
My DH and I always change our celebration dates to suit whatevers going on!My bday is on 7th July-London bombing anniversary so now we celebrate it whenever I fancy around that date.I hope thatyou guys manage to enjoy some of the day-maybe home delivery and a dvd?

Hearts sound lovely Hope!Nautical is very popular this year, theres some great stuff around-love to see a photo when its set up Louise!

I heard that about ivf pregnancies-my hospital has told me that Im not going to go over so Im quite relieved that end is in sight! Think its because of factor v, but could well be the ivf-will ask on
Friday as Im very curious.I definately wouldnt want to go over-Im hoping an early visit by baby...fingers crossed for us all. Glad you are being so well monitered Hope

Welcome Berecka! So glad to see you on here. Must mean it's time for us to come off ;)

Our trust lets you go over 2 weeks, so I've got a 41 week appt booked with the MW and they'll give me a date for induction then. I asked my last consultant about the IVF and going over due date thing and she didn't know anything about it. So they don't seem to have any clear guidelines one way or another, it just seems to follow local hospital / trust rules. Which is daft! It would be nice if they did some research on it...

Our theme is coastal, I'm going to take some photos of the finished nursery today and put them in my diary. And enchanted forest theme sounds amazing. Have fun!

I hope your appointment goes well Hope, and everything's great.

Girls, I'm quite freaked out by the Gary Barlow news, them losing their baby (stillborn) at 9 months. I feel like I've got so far and now I know the baby's still OK, and he's moving I just want him out NOW where he can be safe. You just don't know what's happening inside your body do you? And just relying on feeling movement every now and again doesn't seem clinical enough for me. I'm feeling a bit jittery this morning, and am just fervently wishing that our Speckle would arrive sooner rather than later. I'm even starting to view induction with fondness even though I'm dead set against it, and have been wanting to avoid it like the plague. I just want him safe with us.

Weirdly, one of the girls at DH's work, goes to a tarot card reader, who is scarily very often correct. And she came up to DH very excited yesterday saying that her cards were read and they said that someone was going to have good news on Thursday, and that a baby was coming. So she decided that meant that we are having ours on Thurs! I would be very happy to have her proven correct, even though I don't go in for that sort of thing!!

Good luck girls, and Taffy and WA, i hope today's the day!

xxx

I was really shocked about Gary Barlows little girl, how upsetting and distressing, It does unsettle you especially as she went to term as well.

WA hope you have a lovely anniversary even though you dont feel upt to it!!!

Welcome Berecka!! They will only let me go over 12 days past my date which is 13th July so not long to wait but would like to avoid this if possible, they trat IVF and normal pregnancies the same here. We have done a Beatrix potter nursery, I love it but it has been done since I was about 20 weeks and I just cant wait to statr bloody using the room lol!!!

Well I have been busy scrubbing floors, hoovering, polishing, cleaning windows and now cooking.................thought i would take the active approach but it does not seem to be bloody working!!! And tyo top it all off I have had 5 phone calls today to see if I have had the baby yet, even though I tell people that I will let them know when it happens they feel the need to still ring and ask

Hi Berecka, great to have you with us!! My consultant has a policy with IVF babies that you can't go over so induce on EDD. Had a 3 sweeps at 38/39 weeks and then induction. That's part of the reason I'll have another c section this time at 39 weeks as I don't want to be induced again, it was not nice and I think why I ended up with an emergency.

Happy Anniversary Whiteangel!!

It is devastating about about Gary Barlow isn't it, just awful! And it does make to think doesn't it...it is very scary...

Hope all you due ladies aren't kept waiting too long xxxxxxxx

Taffy - is that nesting then? Millionaire sounds good :) it must be even more frustrating with everyone calling! Like they wouldn't know. I hope things move on soon... The waiting must be driving you crazy. I remember my sil going over and she was terrible because it was school hols I kept her company and it was the longest six days of both our lives lol - still remember it vividly and my niece is 10! no fun. Girls the whole Gary Barlow thing is very unsettling and so much so that I couldn't sleep. It also happened to a friend of mine. You need to just put it in the back of your heads. Easier said than done though.

Whiteangel happy wedding anniversary!

Jewels Thursday would be great! If not next Thursday as it is my birthday lol

Going to hospital today and ask about induction.

Hi Ladies - apologies for the disappearing act! was just so busy during the third trimester. Anyway just dropping in to say that Charlotte Rose arrived 5th August 7lbs 3oz. My labour was almost identical to my first daughter's with my waters breaking being my first labour sign (which oddly enough happened at just after 10 pm which is exactly the same time as my first). I got my first contraction at 11:20 pm and she was born at 2:08 am so nice and quick :) Hope the rest of you ladies arent waiting too long for your little bundles! xxx

Congrats Jen sounds like a perfect birth!!!

Well I had my sweep this morning, at first she could not find my cervix and took ages looking for it.......she then found it and said that it was nice and thin but could only get a finger tip in so was not abelt o do much but hoped that the the amount of time she was messing around up there might get me going. Was disapointed, she said that I could wait a few days and have another sweep, but that would tkae me up to next week. Pointed out to her that consultant did not want me to go over 12 days, so I have been booked in for iunduction for Sunday  Feel excited now that i should have LO ion my arms by Monday, I did want to avoid this but hey he does not want to come out by himself so intervention it is. Have to phone Sunday morning to check tha tthey have a bed for me and then I will go in after lunch. Been talking to my hypnobirthing coach and she has been given me some tips on how to prepare and use hypnoibirthing alongside being induced as it is more abrupt and intense than normal labour, so feel prepared for it.

WA, how did your sweep go today?????

Sweep went well, not painful at all. Cervix has shortened and was about 2cms. She was surprised by how low his head is, she could feel him moving around! She couldn't make any promises but thinks something will happen soon and once my contractions are established I should have quite a short labour as he is already so far down. I'm booked in for an induction on the 15th just in case xx

Hello

Is it OK if I join? I'm coming up to 30 weeks pregnant, my twins will be coming in just over 7 weeks (and not a moment before thank you very much) by planned c-section.

Whiteangel - your sweep sounds really promising!
Taffy - When I had my sweep with DS they couldn't do a thing, I was no where near ready, it didn't work and I was induced 14 days after my due date, at least you have a date for induction though!
Jen - congratulations!
Hope - when are you due?
Jewels - I'm guessing the tarot card reader predictions weren't correct? Hope baby arrives for you soon!

Louise, Bereka, Dusky, Claire, Cindy and anyone I've missed hope you are all OK?

AFM I am struggling a little bit, still so tired my haemoglobin levels were up and I doubled my iron stores, but still have a long way to go to get in to the normal bracket! I forced myself to eat steak last night, all I really want is small snacks of cereal etc, there is no room in my tummy and if I eat too much heartburn kicks in. I would like to say that when the babies drop it will be more comfy, but thats not going to happen with twins! Anyway that's enough whinging from me, best get DS ready for swimming lessons (which he is refusing to go to!) Let the battle commence!
