Nikki - I am not completey ready, but ready enough if the baby did decide to come early. I still can't beleive we have been lucky enought to be blessed with a natural BFP, it doesn't seem that long ago we were thinking we would never have even 1 child!!!!

Caraz - There are some interesting names on that website! We have chosen a boys name and girls, but I have a few friends due at the same time and worried they may have picked the same!

As of a couple of hours ago I am on maternity leave ( well, holiday officially). It feels strange but I don't think it will really sink in until next week when everyone goes back to work. I didn't get much of a farewell at work as most of my friends weren't in. I just quietly disappeared while most people were at lunch!!! I am just chilling out for a few hours now before I have to get DS from nursery.

What has everyone got planned for the weekend? x

Morning girls

Well i'm officialy on leave (holidays then maternity leave), Jasper i felt the same, i didn't get much of a send off but i didn't really expect it, i was moved dept when i was preg so didn't really know anybody and it's mostly men i work with but they did get me some mothercare vouchers and beauty vouchers for me which i thought was very kind and will come in handy for my friends wedding, i was kinda scared leaving though, although i have a few weeks to go it never once crossed my mind i could go into labour at work, now i'm off i suppose it feels more like a waiting game.

Well i have gave up with my friend, i asked her to ask the woman who was altering the dress if the zip could be taken out and a lace put in, this was on Monday, she said she would ask and as far as i'm aware she hasn't asked yet, she was totally stressed the other day, didn't realise she had to post her wedding bands and only realised the day before it had to be done and the wedding is about 2hrs from where we stay, she also has alopecia and the treatment she gets isn't working now so i have decided just to look for another dress, although the weight is still steady going on i feel by bump is massive and there's another 2 weeks until the wedding.

I have started having mild period like cramps down near my pubic bone, mild cramps at the top of my legs and pain between my legs on the inside of my legs, it's worse when i have been walking about then sit down, could this be pelvic pain i'm experiencing?

I'm going to pick up a rug and some pics for babys room, curtains were delivered yesterday but without tie backs and there what really make the cutains (there little teddy bears) so trying to track down where to get them as they seem to be out of stock everywhere.

First parent class on Sun not really sure what to expect.

Have a great weekend

morning ladies,

Congrats to both Sasha and Jasper on starting your maternity leave :)

Sasha - it sounds like your friend is far too stressed by wedding arrangements to really take in anything else!! Probably best if you try and sort it yourself while letting her know what you are doing. Can you talk to the dress maker yourself about the alterations? Hope the parenting class goes well.

Isn't this lovely, typical weather for a British Bank Holiday :windy: We were at a BBQ last night for a friend's 40th, luckily they had a couple of gazebos up to cover us and the bbq itself, and plenty of spare blankets for us to wrap up in to keep warm!! We did think the gazebos were going to blow away at one point (they are up on the side of a hill, fairly exposed), but they managed to tie them to a couple of trees!! The rain sounded nice battering down on the roof, until it eventually started to drip through onto us and we had to retreat back into the house! I feel so sorry for people who have organised events going on today or tomorrow - we decided to cancel going to the carboot this morning, as it is forecast to rain all day here :(

Yesterday I had 3 or 4 quite painful twinges in my cervix, only lasted a few seconds each time but were strong enough to make me catch my breath - no idea if it is just the baby headbutting me down there, or if something is starting to go on, there haven't been any other signs yet. I was feeling a bit sick last night and this morning, but put that down to too many burgers and too much potato salad at the BBQ!!

Hope everyone has a good weekend, and manages to stay dry!!

Sasha - How was the class? Are you being bridesmaid 1 week before your EDD???

Caraz - Hope the weather has cheered up fro you the sun has just come out here!

DH is off doing a carboot sale this morning and it sounds like it is going well. I love making money out of junk that I would have thrown away!!! Later we are going to Jubilee celebrations in thepark which are organised by the council. We are metting up with some family, which could be a bit stressful as my neices and nephews are really naughty, and I will get annoyed that no one will ask how I am or anything about the baby even though I haven't seen them for weeks!

I have been feelng really exhausted this weekend! DS keeps waking up at 5.30am! Usually we leave him for a while but last night he climbed out of his cot and landed on the floor with a thud so I had to go straight in to him this morning at 5.50am . As he didn't go back to sleep until gone 9 last night so he was really tired by the time he had breakfast at 8. He went back to bed and I took the chance to grab another hour! I could have had longer as my family have now decided to meet at 12 rather than 10...arghhh! This also means that I won't get a nap this afternoon as DS will skip his nap after such a long sleep this morning! Hopefully tomorrow we will get back in to our normal routine, but with the cot sides taken off who knows what DS will be like. I am scared that if I went in to labour now I just wouldn't have the energy!!!! I

Hope the sun is coming out for everyone else too!!! xx

Hi girls

Jasper i'll be 35 + 4 when i'm a bridesmaid, asked my friend last Monday to ask the woman who's altering the dress if the zip could be taken out and a lace put in, my last fitting is this Thurs and she hasn't bothered to ask her, i appreciate she has a lot on her plate but i did say i would deal with it and asked for the woman's number ....... still waiting :-(

Can't say i was impressed by the first parent class, it was all to do with going into labour, what you might experience and different types of delivery. I'm more of a wait and see what happens on the day type of person, although i had/have an idea in my head how i'd like it to go it's not something you can plan, as long as baby arrives safe and well that's all that matters, think the next class would be better but it's not until 10 days before my due date so not sure how i'll be feeling at that point.

I had heard that quidelines were changing in relation to fertility babies not being left to go over their due date has anybody else heard this?

Away to enjoy the sun while it lasts

I hope everything works out OK in the end with the dress Sasha. It's stres that you don't need at the moment!

Are the classes NCT classes or is it something provided by your hospital? I recently went to a labour workshop and BF workshop at my local hospital and they were OK but having been through it before I think that there is mush more that they could have covered.

Hi Ladies,

Hope you are all having a nice BH weekend. Still no sign of baby yet, which was good as we had bump photos taken yesterday, had some with DS touching my bump - very sweet :)

Sasha - hope you get your dress sorted.

Jasper - know what you mean about wondering whether you'll have the energy for labour etc. What with the frequent bathroom trips at night and not much chance to rest during the day - I'm knackered!

Caraz - assume you've not had the baby yet?? I think all the twinges are expected, although every time I get some I wonder if it's starting .... That baby name website was interesting - must admit I'm starting to wonder if they've made a mistake and it's not a girl .... trying to think of a boys name too just in case.

Sorry for tmi, but I've been having a lot of increased discharge over last few days and wondered if that's normal. Last time my plug went and then a week later my waters, with labour starting shortly after. What do you think? Seeing the midwife again on Friday this week.

Nikki x

hi ladies

Hope - welcome, hope the third trimester flies past for you :)

Nikki - not sure about the discharge, I think I read that it is normal for it to increase towards the end though? I'm with you on wondering about the sex - even though they were as sure as they could be it is a girl, I've suddenly started looking at boys names too, and preparing myself for her coming out as a he!

Sasha - our antenatal classes covered all the various labour options too. I know what you mean about just waiting to see what happens on the day (makes me wonder why anyone bothers with birth plans!), but for us it was useful to find out about the different things. I haven't heard anything about changing guidelines re IVF babies, but I had heard anecdotaly that sometimes they will induce fertillity babies at 40 weeks purely because they know the mothers are likely to be more worried than "normal" mothers and they want the babies out safely as soon as possible. I always thought that once we actually got pregnant, then there was no difference in our pregnancies compared to any others.

Jasper - hope you made a nice profit at the car boot sale! No idea when we will get to one now, I'll just have to put up with all the boxes in the dining room a while longer!

AFM, we've had a busy weekend with various outings to friends, and are supposed to be out again this evening but tbh I am so tired we may cancel. I'm going to go have a lie down for a bit now, then a soak in the bath and see if have the energy to be social later! Dogs are walked anyway - I am trying to make sure I at least do that every day still, just to get some exercise, and encourage baby onto the right position. She was very active this morning - I was sitting in bed reading, and she was flipping from side to side every couple of minutes, a bit like me trying to get comfy in bed at night! I've not had any more twinges at all, I guess it was just baby squashing a nerve or something, and she's moved off it now. I am really hoping she does come early now, I am getting so uncomfortable, and the PGP has got a lot worse but it hardly seems worth trying to see the physio at this late stage. So on the one had I really want to meet her now, but at the same time I get freaked out when I see my ticker and it says only 16 days to go!!!

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend - at least the rain has eased off now!

Nikki - I have been having loads of discharge throughout the whole pregnancy, it has got thicker as the weeks have gone on. I have been having to use pantyliners daily. When I lost my plug it was lots more, a really big lump of slimey stuff, like stringy snot, came out a few times over 2 or 3 days, within days I was in labour, so I am keeping a look out for it again!!! Sorry if this is TMI for anyone!!!!

Caraz- Sounds like you have had a good but busy weekend. Isn't it lovely when you can feel your LO wriggling around. I often sit here wondering what he/she is doing in there and savouring the feeling, I love it.

Hope - Welcome to the 3rd tri. This is where it gets exciting!

I am still exhausted, DS woke at 4.50 this morning! We managed to get back to bed for a while this morning and this afternoon though, but I just need to try and break this cycle of early waking. Tomorrow is my first day of mat leave its's going to seem weird! Thursday will be starnger as DS will be at nursery so I will have the day to myself, I think it's only the second time since he was born!

Jasper - yes I have too, it's just increased in the last few days. My plug sounded similar to yours last time, except mine came out all in one go (rather than over a few days). Enjoy being off on maternity leave - a day on your own too, what are you planning on doing??

Caraz - hope you are feeling a bit better now. Did you decide to go out? Glad you've had no more twinges :). It's hard as you want to meet your LO - but want to savour being pregnant too.

Nikki x

Just popping by to see how you are all doing

Nikki this probably doesn't help but I didn't lose my plug until after my waters had broken (as far as I know).

Getting close now to some of you joining me in the parenting chat, enjoy these last few days with your bumps. I know everyone is different but I had a huge energy burst just before I had DS and did lots of cleaning/gardening in the 2 days before he was born. I didn't think much of it at the time but my Mum said she was the same before each of hers... something to look out for?

Good Luck xx

Hi CT! :hi:

I enjoyed my first day of mat leave today. Tomorrow is my first day where DS will be at nursery. I plan to get my nails done in the morning and sleep all afternoon! I had better squeeze in some housework before I get my nails done!

I still haven't washed all the baby clothes. I am waiting until the weather is nice enough to hang them outside, but I may have to give up on that idea as it looks like the rain isn't going to stop for a while!!!

Good evening all...

I posted back in the first trimester and then bowed to pressure from my darling OH to stay away from all things pregnancy related chat! I am 36 + 5 and am booked in for a c section at 38 weeks as I have placenta previa. Was just wondering if anyone has this same condition or any experience of it? Good luck to all.

Hi ladies,
Thanks for the welcome! Unfortunately I landed myself in hospital with what I thought a urine infection and they said labour. Testing inconclusive and contractions too sporadic so not labour. I just think princess is causing havoc! Definitely a diva!!
Anyhow, they gave me steroid injections and are watching me so hopefully out soon. Think I jinxed myself coming on to third trimester hehe x

Hi Kate - welcome to the third tri! Well done for staying away, it can be very reassuring to Google evrything but it can also cause unecessary worry!

Hope- Fingers crossed that your LO stays put for a bit longer yet. Are you still in hospital?

Just dropped DS at nursery for my first day to myself and I feel lost without him already! :-( I was up at 4.30 writing lists of things I need to do, so once I get on with that I am sure I will feel better as I will be distracted.

Have a good day everyone!

Morning girls

Hope please don't worry i had some bleeding at 29+5, they prepared me for worst case scenario that i was going to have a premature labour and i had two lots of steroid injections, i'm also o negative so needed injections for that, i was given a scan and baby was 4lbs so that was reassuring, they couldn't find anything wrong with me either, app you get reduced movement after steroids, i didn't notice this at the time but i did the following week and ended up back at hospital but baby was fine. How far along are you?

Welcome Kate not long to go for you now, is the placenta lying low?

Jasper the dress fitted woohoo, wedding is a week this sat so fingers crossed, how you getting on with your list.

Well baby has always liked being up in my ribs but bloody hell the pain was unbearable last night, i tried everything to get him to shift but think he was clinging on for dear life wee monkey :)

morning ladies

Sasha - that is great news about the dress!! You can relax a bit now and stop stressing about it :) Will you be having a glass of champagne at the wedding? I would if I were you, you deserve it!

Jasper - enjoy the peace and quiet while you can, it won't last long :)

Hope - fingers crossed they let you home soon, it doesn't sound like it is premature labour anyway which is good!

Kate - welcome to the third tri :) One of the ladies in my antenatal group had placenta praevia too, and was booked in for a CS - she went into labour the day before it was scheduled, and had to go in early. She has a gorgeous little boy now :)

AFM, feeling tired, grumpy, tearful and uncomfortable - other than that I'm fine :D Went to friends on Tuesday night which was good fun, but their house is so overheated I always end up drinking several pints of water. So from midnight Tuesday to getting up at about 9 on Wednesday, I got practically no sleep as I was up literally every 30-40 minutes to go to the loo!! Soooo tired the last couple of days. I've been getting weepy too, not something I've really had an issue with through the pregnancy, I guess it is just the imminence of everything now, and thinking about my mum, how unfair it is that she won't get to meet her grandchild :( (she passed away in March).

Oh well, need to go shopping now, try and stagger around Sainsburies using the trolley as a support! Baby feels really low down now, hope that is a good sign! 3 of the 6 babies from the antenatal group have arrived now, I am getting quite jealous :)

Thats great news about the dress Sasha. I hope the weather improves in time for the big day!

Sorry to hear you are not feeling great. Hormones have alot to answer for. It is so unfair that your Mum won't meet her grandchild . :hugs:

I have done most of the things that I had planned too apart from I would have liked to have a longer afternoon nap! I slept for about 1.5 hours but another hour would have been nice! I think I was worrying about oversleeping and being late to collect DS at 3.30. I will try harder tomorrow!!!! : D

I have had my nails painted this morning. I went for bright orange and when I got out in to the daylight it was even brighter, almost luminous! :S It did cross my mind that if LO is born while I still have it on I may look back at those first photos in a few years and wonder whatever was I thinking wearing a colour like that!!!! : D

Thanks ladies for all your thoughts and advice. I managed to escape hospital yesterday! So glad to be in my own house and bed. I am 29 weeks and 4 days. Very frightening and hard to get your head round when I thought it was a urinary tract. Only problem that I have found since getting out is that I have been quite breathless. Was given the dvt socks and wearing them just in case.

Hope you ladies are all well. Can't wait to hear about these babies coming into the world! X

Morning girls

Hope - Glad you got out, i had a mini melt down in the hospital because i was in a ward with 2 girls who were in the early stages of labour and a girl who had just had a baby that morning and they were preparing me for a premature labour and all this was being explained to me and hubby wasn't allowed in, stress we don't need but hopefully things will go smoothly for you from now on.

Today is going to be a long day i didn't sleep great at all last night i was in so much pain, it's like a mild crap down near my pubic bone/ groin area, the tops of my legs, bottom of my back and on the insides on my legs has anyone else experienced this? Got a midwife app today so will ask what it could be, got a feeling it's just baby getting big and i'm quite short so prob a lot pressure being put on everything :-(

The weather is also horrid today

Hello girls

YAY I'm in the 3rd trimester! Woopee. Who would've thought. Very happy to be here.

Glad to hear all is well, and babies are still on board!

All is well with us, had a scan almost 2 weeks ago just before we went on hols and baby was looking good, measuring about 2 weeks ahead as usual, and has very long legs! Everything else was just above average, 75th percentile, but his legs were 95%! Guess he's going to be long (tall) like his dad. As long as he's tall and skinny and slithers out I'll be happy ;)
The consultant said I have to go back at 34 weeks and if everything is still fine, then she will discharge me to midwife-led care which is great, as then I can do the whole hypnobirthing water birth thing.

We're having our last hypnobirthing class next Sat, I'll miss it, it's been so nice. Need to practise it all now that it feels like it's getting closer. My bump feels like it's bigger by the day, and my DH keep exclaiming over the size of it! It's getting very hard to bend down, and he kicks me so hard I flinch sometimes, which is funny.

When I go back to work on Mon I only have a month left before I'm off! YAY! Can't wait. Too much politics, and 2 of the other writers have resigned while I'm off so I'm glad I won't be there to pick up the pieces. Can't wait to be on maternity leave, and then my mom arrives too, so it's very exciting.

Take care ladies and bumps, chat soon

xxx

Welcome to the third tri Jewels! It seems like ages away and before you know it you are here!!!

Sasha- What did the MW say???Is LO on the way???!! : D

Hope - Glad you are home and all is well. I hope you are taking it easy. x

I am starting to get a bit impatient/excited/nervous/worried/overwhelmed all sorts of emotions! I just wish I knew when it was going to happen and what it is going to be like! In my head the labour will be the same as last time, but you never know. I have the added worry this time of DS and making sure my parents get here in time to look after him. I am sure it will all be fine, it's the fear of the unknown I guess!

Have a good weekend everyone! x

morning ladies

Jewels - welcome to the third tri :) This one flies by, up to the last few weeks anyway which are dragging!! I've been using the natal hypnotherapy CDs al the way through (IVF relaxation onwards) and have found them a big help. I was re-reading the birth preparation book again last night, hoping it will all sink in in time for the big day!

Jasper - I know what you mean, I am alternating between excited, nervous, and still in denial about the whole thing!! It still doesn't feel real, I just can't imagine what our lives are going to be like in 3 or 4 weeks time! It is such a huge thing, and even though we've wanted it for a long time, it is still scary!

Sasha - hope the mw was helpful and has put your mind at ease. I've been getting mild cramps for weeks on and off - as you say, it is probably just the bigger baby applying extra pressure.

Hope - glad you made it home :) Must be a big relief to get out of the hospital!

AFM, still nothing happening, other than the iron supplements having a nasty effect on me :( I'm seeing the GP on Monday, so will ask if there are alternatives as I really don't like these ones!

I'm feeling a bit hacked off today - had a lovely day lined up, one of our friends was supposed to be visiting again (she was here last Saturday, and was really keen to come over again today for the whole day/evening). DH was up early to get to the bakers and butchers to get food in for the day, I was about to start baking, having first tidied the house up a bit (it only gets done when we have visitors coming!), then 2 hours before she's due, we get a text message saying she's decided to spend the day gardening instead as its the first dry day in ages!! Fair enough on the gardening thing, but could she not have made the decision yesterday and let us know in advance, instead of this morning? Its not the first time she has cancelled on us at short notice either. She's a good friend, a lovely person, but very irritating when she does this! That is the whole day wasted, we could have arranged to do something else. At least I hadn't started baking - would have had to eat the cakes all on my own, which would never do :D Oh well, I guess the dogs will get a longer walk than planned, maybe take them down to the river today now we have the time!

Afternoon girls

Jewels - Welcome to the third tri, i still feel it's flying in but i have a few weeks to go yet so that might change.

Caraz - i have a friend exactly the same, a nicer person you will never meet, i'm not one for cancelling plans with friends unless it really can't be helped but she does it last min which really gets to me.

Well my little baby bump is still measuring 3 weeks behind :-( me and hubby are very calm about it because i was very fit before i got preg and had no stomach whatsoever (oh the days :) ) so i'm assuming that has a lot to do with it but my mum is having a total nervous breakdown and really getting on my nerves, she is suppose to be supporting me instead i feel i'm constantly reassuring her, and she tells everyone what's going on like it's a major thing, so many people it turns out in my family have measured small and there babies have been 6lbs or over yet that doesn't seem to reassure her, anyway i was booked for another growth scan on the 18th so will get to see baby again. Told the midwife about the pains and she said it was just everything down below relaxing and making space for a baby to come out and is prob only gonna get worse, it will all be worth it in the end.

It's sunny here at the mo so gonna go for a walk and maybe go out for dinner tonight.

Enjoy your day

Hi Ladies,

Just waiting for DH to get back with an Indian so thought I'd pop on here quickly.

Caraz - sorry to hear you've been messed about today :( Hopefully you'll get an alternative to the iron tablets but if not then just think it's for babies benefit ....

Sasha - it's hard when others try & stress you out. If the midwife is not concerned then that's good - perhaps you could take your mum to the next growth scan to try and set her mind at rest? Do hope the pain gets better soon. Pleased the dress fits - one less thing to worry about.

Jasper - feeling exactly the same as you. Our bags are now in the boot of the car - should be fun trying to get the pram out now, but just want to be ready. Glad you got organised on your day without DS. I've seemed to have slowed down now - must have passed the nesting phase and just want to rest.

Jewels - welcome to the third trimester, it does go quick from this point (except the last couple weeks!) Don't know anyone that's tried hypnobirthing - is your class quite busy? Are you hoping for not much pain relief then or is this an extra?

AFM - still having loads of discharge (sorry if tmi) - have to keep checking my waters haven't gone as it does feel like that sometimes. Saw midwife yesterday and head now fully engaged so just waiting. Explains why I need the loo every 30 mins or so. No-one from our NCT classes have had their baby yet - I'm the first one due :)

Have a good weekend everyone.

Nikki x

Hi evryone,

Just been catching up on whats been happening with you all. Sounds like we might have our next baby on the way with Nikki, how exciting !!!,

I have been feeling really tired the last couple of days with no energy, even had to go and have a sleep in the afternoon. I think my bump has also dropped, been a bit concerned as well as LO has not been as active as usual and i have really noticed this. I was woundering if you ladies felt less movement when the head started to engage, as midwife said last week he was head down getting ready. I have had my dopler on and heart beat is nice and strong, bu it does make you worry.

hi girls

Taffycaz - my baby has always been head down and isn't yet engaged and i get lots of movement however a few weeks ago i had reduced movement one day and nothing the next so i called the midwife who instructed me to go straight to hospital to get checked, i got hooked up to the monitor and baby was fine however i still couldn't feel anything so had a scan and baby was breech, this only lasted for two days before he was head down again. The midwife said even if you have a sudden change in pattern you should call them. The doppler is a great thing though but no harm in getting checked.

Thanks Sasha

Had loads of movements this afternoon now, it was so weird not to feel him and then all of a sudden he started again and back to normal. I had a craps night sleep last night just kept tossing and turning so I don't know if this kept him awake and he has been asleep all morning but I will keep an eye on it and see how it goes. Thanks for your reply hun !

Nikki - Did you have an indian to see if the theory about a hot curry is true??!! Could have been coincidence but I had curry for lunch the day before I had DS! I am still getting loads of discharge too, it's constant and very annoying. I keeping checking if it is anything like my show last time, but it's not. My waters broke very dramtically so if its the same this time I will definitely know when its happened! :snigger:

Caraz- I hope you had a nice day yesterday despite your friend letting you down. I know one or two people like that and its so annoying but also so predicatable now so I am always ready for it!!!!

Sasha - You are right to be calm about the size of your bump. The way they measure it really can't be that accurate and doesn't take in to account your buil and also the variety of sizes that babies can be!

Taffycaz - Glad to hear the movements have picked up again. If I have a busy day I sometimes don't notice the movements so I just take a bit of time out and sit and see what happens.

I have been getting some pain in my lower back all day today and pressure in my bum, I think the head must be getting further engaged now. I have just repacked my hospital bag checking I have everything, just incase!!!! I have 4 days to myself this week so I intend to get lots of sleep so that I am ready if it does happen!!!!

hi ladies

Jasper - hope you manage to get plenty of sleep, I can't seem to get enough at the moment, even though I am sleeping well at night! Lower back pain could be the start of early labour I think?
Taffycaz - glad to hear your LO is moving ok again, mine has quiet days which worry me, but a cold drink and a lie down has always worked so far, I've not had to go in for monitoring. It is scary when they go so quiet though!!
Sasha - sorry to hear your mum is stressing you out, it is the last thing you need! If the doctor and mw aren't concerned about your bump size, then you shouldn't be either, especially with a family history of small babies.
Nikki - any sign of the baby yet? It does sound like things are fairly imminent :)

AFM, we had a really nice weekend in the end - having Saturday suddenly free meant we could get out and do some last minute shopping! Nice walk by the river with the dogs too - longer than it should have been because I insisted on going further than usual, which meant by the time we got back to the car I wasn't able to lift my feet high enough to step in!! I had to kind of shuffle in backwards and physically lift my legs up with my hands to get myself in :snigger: A hot bath helped but I was still really sore on Sunday. I've just fitted the second baby gate, so now the dogs can be confined to the back of the house when I am busy with baby, without them actually being shut in a separate room. Was a bit of a fiddle, because we needed to have it high enough off the ground that the elderly (and senile) cat can get underneath it - otherwise she would be squawking the whole time to be lifted over. Not a chance of her jumping over it :)

Absolutely no signs of impending labour here, still not even had any Braxton Hicks. Can't believe the EDD is only next week! I'm convinced we are going to go way over the due date, simply because of the total lack of signs at this stage. Saw the gp today, LO is 2/5th palpable, so getting there slowly. BP gone up slightly but still within normal range. Otherwise all fine, which is good as it means I am still looking at the MWLU for the birth.

Hope you are all well and not getting flooded out by this lovely midsummer weather :)

Well I have got back pain again this evening but I wonder if I have just been over doing it??? I had a cleaning frenzy today, the nesting has really started!

Glad you had a good weekend Caraz. Don't worry about the lack of braxton hicks and any other signs, . When I had DS I had a show 2-3 days before he was born and that was it, the next thing I knew I was woken by my waters breaking in the midle of the night and things progressed quickly from there!

Any more news from you Nikki???!!!

x.

Morning girls

Hope your all keeping well.

This tiredness is really getting to me, and i was in so much pain last night like period cramps lower down and at the tops of my legs, last night was the worst it has ever been, the thought of a wedding on Sat is really not appealing to me at all :-(

Getting my hair cut today so hopefully that should cheer me up.

Hi ladies,
Reading through all your posts. Looks like none of these babies are ready yet! They will all come in their own time. X. Hope aches and pains not too bad and you are all resting up x
Seen hospital yesterday and my princess is breech. Thank goodness just under 10 weeks to go. Doc concerned though due to my medical history. Let's hopes she gets turning! Would rather have a natural birth than section but have to take what I am given. Also iron levels are up a bit which is good, just need them to rise a bit more.
Finding no matter what time I go to bed at each night I am waking around 5. A real pain in the neck! Has this happened to anyone else?

Its making me :riv3: as well lol. Never mind I am off for four days now so I can try to sleep whenever I want.

I know what you mena about tossing and turning all night! If it's not that I am getting up for the loo!!! I think it's natures way of preparing us for the sleepless nights ahead! I plan to have a nap this afternon when DS has his nap.

I haven't had anymore pains, so I think it must have been braxton hicks. I have the not knowing when it will be...its driving me insane!!!!

No word from Nikki all week and she is due next so maybe something is happening??!!!

Taffy, glad I am getting some sleep. Very moany today as bad night last night, aches and pains, even hormonal tears. Hate not getting sleep. Totally need it. Hope that you get some before baby is born as you will need it.

Atm I am wide awake and moody! Not a great night last night. Just glad I am on my own today as I would probably fall out with everyone around me lol

Morning girls

Does this lack of sleep ever go away or is this our bodies preparing us for baby? I'm usually a very calm person but this lack of sleep is making me  at the smallest of things.

I have developed really sore pains in my hands has anyone else had this? I feel i'm developing every ache and pain going.

No sign of any babies for anyone?

Have a nice day

hi ladies

sasha - I found my sleep patterns have varied a lot, I went through a very sleepless phase early in the third tri, but have been ok (more or less) the past few weeks, other than the twice nightly toilet trips anyway! As for aches and pains - the past couple of weeks I have had a really sore shoulder, a sharp pain running from the front of my shoulder right down my arm. Didn't think it was pregnancy related, but the doctor reckons that it is just ligaments and muscles being affected by the hormones, so you can get aches pretty much anywhere and blame it on the pregnancy!

Hope - I hope you are feeling a bit better, and have been taking it easy today. FIngers crossed you get some better sleep tonight.

taffy - I have found I slept better on days I listened to the hypnobirthing tracks - I have only heard the last 10 minutes of it once or twice as I always drop off towards the end! As that is the crucial bit about the actual birth, I really have to try and stay awake and listen to it more often!!

Nikki - any news yet?

Everyone else, hope you are all doing well :)

AFM, at the risk of being repetitive, still nothing going on! I'm 39 weeks today - frustrating to think it could be another 3 weeks before we get to meet her! I'm feeling more comfortable now anyway - the iron supplements were having a bad effect on me so the doc prescribed lactulose which has been great :) He also said I could drop from 2 to 1 tablet per day. They won't be testing my iron levels again so I can stop worrying about missing the cut-off for the MWLU. My last result was 10.4 - so long as it is over 10 there is no problem. I've been waiting for the mythical nesting instinct to kick in, as the house desperately needs a clean, but I think I might just have to get on with it anyway! DH is working from home full-time from this week, so he is on hand should anything start - its funny though because if he hears me doing any housework he comes dashing out to help, feeling guilty that I am working! I have to keep pointing out that he is actually supposed to be working from home, he's not getting paid to do the vacuuming :)

name?

Been thinking (obsessing...) about names - we have about 20 on our "short" list at the moment  One we both like can be pronounced two ways - I'm curious how people would say it on first seeing it - the name is "Cassia". Its fairly unusual, but not too weird (I hope), and is Hebrew, from the name of a cinnamon-type spice plant. As a spice it is usually pronounced KASH-uh, but as a name KASSY-ah (it can also be spelt Keziah in the traditional Hebrew). Any thoughts? How would you say this if you saw it written down?

I have seriously turned into a hormonal monster :tears:

Caraz - that's a beautiful name i would pronounce it Kassy ah, if we were having a girl we had a hebrew name Ameria which app means princess, we didn't know that at the time though.

Taffycaz - glad i'm not the only one with odd pains, think my mum thinks i'm at it with all these aches and pains, she didn't even have a scan when she was having me.

Nearly had a small melt down today due to lack of sleep, i had a few bits and bobs to do today, everybody seemed determined to walk into me and had no manners to move seeing i was preg, one elderly woman even walked into me with a trolly, i automatically said sorry as that's what i'm used to doing even when it wasn't my fault but she didn't even flinch it was like i wasn't even there, then at the counter in tesco the check out girl stood talking long after she had served the woman in front of me and to top if off when i got back to my car an elderly male in a big fancy car had parked too close to my car, but instead of moving to let me get in he just stared at me as if to say don't dare hit my car with your car door, after struggling to get in i was almost in tears, seems so petty now i'm thinking about it but oh how the small things get to you.

Hope your all having a better day than me

I ahve been into town today to look for a fathers day present from the bump, thought that it would be cute. Got a card from the bump and found a baby grow in next with my dady is funny on it, as it is a running joke with me and my hubby that his jokes are crap lol, so i thought it was apt for him. Also went to try some clothes on as we are going out with friends next weekend, nothing bloody fits, no maternity clothes in this area so will just have to make do with what I have got.

Caraz - that's a beautiful name i would pronounce it Kassy ah as well really unusual.

Caraz, a beautiful name. Agree with the other girls about how you would say it. I also have picked an unusual
Name. Assume once we call her it then everyone will call their child it lol

Still no births? Want to start hearing these stories and the does and donts! Come on girls lol

How is everyone doing? In better moods today??!!! Hormones have alot to answer for!

I am still getting lots of braxton hicks and my boobs have suddenly got even bigger! I saw my MW yesterday and the head is no further engaged, still 2/5ths, but it really feels so much lower. She did say that the increased pain I am experiencing in my hips could be due to my body getting ready and labour is iminent but who knows!!!

I met a couple of colleagues for lunch yesterday and although it was lovely to catch up I felt a bit weird after. I just have this real paranoi about having no job to go back to. They didn't take on maternity cover as such, they took someone on permanent and there is now talk of keeping a temp that was there for 6 weeks on permanently. I know where I stand legally etc but I want to go back to a proper job not just be there because I have to be. I just don't think the workloa justifies the number of people in the team, not including me! I would have felt much more comfortable if I had someone who was officially covering my mat leave. I am sure in a few weeks I won't care!!!!

On the subject of names, I would pronounce it the same way that the others have said, unless you did go with the Hebrew spelling. We have managed to decie on one boys name and one girls name now, but I am sure there is still time for us to change our minds again!!!! x

Hi ladies,

Sorry I've not had a chance to post but been busy with our little girl smile2

We had Grace on Sunday (7lb 8oz) - a really fast delivery, took us both by surprise! Will post my birth story soon but just wanted to let you all know.

Hope all goes well for you - some of you are really close now.

Love Nikki x
