Hi everyone how are you all doing in your 1st trimester?

Sparky- my spotting only last them couple of hoirs and had nothing since but stomach pains and as of yesyerday the sickness kicked in... i am forcing my self to eat as i feel so sick and do not fancy anything. I have also gone of tea completley and am just on water. How arw you doing now any spotting still. Is your scan tomorrow?

I had a bfp two weeks ago yesterday and this is ivf eound 2 as round 1 did not work. Ihad spotting on tuesday and went for an emergency scan at my Hospital i work in and was told all was fine and that im expecting twins. Very happy and shocked. Me and df had already booked an early pregnancy private scan for sunday to see whats going on in there but unfortunatley df didnt fet to come to scan tuesday so sunday will be the first time he sees thwm. Any one else having twins ?

Hi Thinking Positive (and other first tri ladies)

Brilliant to see you here... And other brilliant news.... Im still here and fingers crossed things will be okay.
My spotting has been on and off (brown) for 12 days ince my 6w4d scan.
I had my 8w4d scan yesterday and all is fine so no idea why the spotting and bracing myself for more to come... Had none since yesterday morning but waiting to see.
I feel reassured now ive had the scan.

So pleased you know alls well after your scan and i bet your df is really excited! My hubbie was chuffed with our scan yesterday. We had to take our DS with us and we was a bit worried that i had a problem with my tummy but we gave him a bit cuddle and said mummys tummy is very well.

I expect when expecting twins your symptoms will be really strong. I have the nausea and sick feeling some days but not others. Ive been using childcare a lot for my DS and taking it as easy as possible which i think has helped and helped ease the spotting!

A lot of the girls on this thread are on their second tri... Thanks to you all for your support and I hope youre all doing well.

Hi sparky

How are you? Very quiet in the first trimester isnt it?

Had my 8 wk scan today and all was well and measuring correct and heart both heart beats. This has been my first internal scan since being pregnant ( had 2 scans on my belly) and like you sparky i have started having the brown dischargy stuff! Obviosuly its down to the internal probe just wish she would have done it exterbally. Hopefully it passes and all is well as i saw two healthy looking hearts so keeping positive for now.

Hows your journey going sparky ?

Hi Thinking Positive.

Great to hear from you and glad your 8 week scan went well!
I have opted for another scan which is on friday (as ive had previous problems). Im glad i did as my appointment with the midwife was awful, shes made me feel nervous again!,

How are your symptoms? Apart from the spotting (its prob just old blood like mine was)...
Ive been feeling really rough which has been hard. Headaches and sickness. Today im fine though, apart from being tired! Im thinking that id rather feel bad as then i think the pregnancies going well! Yep im crazy i know... But after going through so much to get pregnant its hard not to be abit crazy :)

Yes quiet on here, lets keep chatting!
Hopefully Emma will join us, and others who get BFPs.

Take care xxx

Im 10w2d today, so scan will be 10w4d...

Midwife remembered me from my mmc last year and i said id had 2 scans so was hopeful and she basically said anything can happen tomorrow!! There was a junior midwife with her so i think she was being hard handed as to give her the right protocol... Who knows... I cried my eyes out... Proper sobbing and everything!!!
She did say as i left she'd see me at the 16 week scan but damage had been done by then... Its hard leaving lovely caring clinic then going into normal midwife environment as they seem to not understand the ivf journey and i think they should be more sympathetic!! Don't really want to see that midwife again, which is a shame as she was okay when i had my DS. (Rant over).

Yes i imagine with twins the symptoms would be harsh... I heard ginger helps (maybe ginger nut bisc and green and blacks do lovely choc with ginger in... Dont fancy ginger tea, that sounds yucky!). My symptoms were fine yesterday but i did more which took mind off things and ate mire (out for lunch with friends... Hard to not talk about pregnancy but i learnt from last time not to too early!).
Not feeling and nausea today... Would rather i did! Except when i picked up my DS newly washed teddy... And then felt really bad... I cant stand the smell of our washing powder... I MUST get some more.

Im taking DS away for a couple of days to see his grandma which will be good as i have some days off work and she can help me!

Hope youre taking it easy and stay happy :)
Just checked into Amazing Augusts to say hi to Emma and another lovely lass i know from cycling before... Hopefully they will join us soon... Emmas just had blast transfer so fingers crossed fir her, she sounds really well!

Bye for now. Xxx

Hi Sparky,

Thanks for the warm welcome. I've been feeling sick, tired and had a nasty sore head this week but it all good. How are you feeling?

How old is DS? Have you told him he is going to be a big brother? We are desperate to tell DD but my Mum made a good point, that if we tell DD, she might blurt it out to others before we're ready to tell them! I think she will be so excited!

What time is your scan?

Hi Tiggs and Thinking Positive.

No, im going to find out the sex this time (i think) so can tell DS what he will have... So will wait until 20 weeks.
Im having this think called 'crotch lightening' to day its awful... Had it loads its like knife/shooting pain right up my lady bits... Has had me worried ive been over doing it with my tantruming DS... You have to pick them up! Hes 2.5 years and is gorgeous (apart from the usual terrible 2s stuff). Really want a sibling for him, trying not to get excited!

Sounds like youre having strong symtoms too... Mine are so much worse this time... And had brown spotting for 2 weeks... Ive heard that it maybe agirl as theyre more trouble in pregnancy!? That may be a myth!
How old is your little one?

How you doing TP? Hope the twins are doing well in there, hope the scan went well?

Xxxxxxx

Ps i had my 10w4d scan today (on my tummy) went well! Phew x

So glad your scan went well, very reassuring. I had a similar pain yesterday too, took my breath away. Haven't had it since, thankfully. Had some brown bleeding this afternoon too, which has really worried me. I keep telling myself its brown so it's old and probably brought on following my internal scan. Really hope it's nothing serious. Having the same symptoms as I had with DD. I remember when i was expecting with DD someone at work telling me girls were more trouble too, hehe! We found out the sex the last time and will find out this time too. As long as the baby is healthy though we don't mind what it is. DD is almost 2.5 too so I can sympathise with the tantrums although (touch wood) she hasn't really had one for a good couple of months - she started early with the tantrums so maybe that phase has passed already?! I am always picking DD up, I wouldn't not do it if I could help it. She gives amazing squeezey cuddles!

Thinking Positive - congratulations on having twins! How are you feeling?

Tiggs- congratulations on the BFP so nice moving over to first trimester isnt it. How are you feeling ? Any symptoms yet ?

My scan went well thanks. Heard the heart beats too which was great. Had midwife last week and again next week and will be under consultant care at my hospital as it is twins. I will be having next scan at 12 weeks with nhs. My private ivf clinic only seems to have given me one scan! I will definatley be finding out sexes as there is two and need to prepare.... need a new csr too which will fit a double buggy in. Im 9 weeks monday so not long until the 12 week mark now.

Hope you are both ok xxxx

Hi Ladies,
I thought I would dip my toes in here, albeit cautiously.
I am 7 weeks exactly today after a natural FET following an early mc in April this year.

My cycle mates from April are now moving over into th second trimester.
So I am a little apprehensive that this might not go so well.
I have my early scan on Monday - and I am hoping that hearing a heartbeat will allow me to relax and enjoy the idea of welcoming and meeting our little miracle. Our EDD is the 6th of April 2014.

I have twins on my mother's side of the family and wondering if we might be having twins!
Keeping our fingers crossed but will be immensly happy either way.

Baby dust to you all and wishing you all h&h for the journey.
Oh! And apparently the size of our baby as of 7 weeks in fruit terms is a blueberry :-)
Hope everyone is doing well.

Hi there all!

Wow, theres 4 of now.... Brilliant!
Welcome Fialor! I had a missed misscarriage last Nov... So i sympathise with you and i totally understand your concern. The heartbeat scan will reassure you, then you could always do as i have (if your clinic allow it... Mine did TP but i have had to pay £150 for the 10 week one, that wasnt included in the cost!) have more scans... Ive had one every 2 weeks.

Great glad things are going well TP... Yes not long until the 12 week scan fir us bith now.... Mine is on 29th August. I had fridays one on my tummy, the placenta was pulsating like mad... Was a bit weird, baby seemed fine! Phew... Yes lots to plan with twins but an amazing journeyon of my best friends has twins, theyre gorgeous together!

Hope youre all feeling well. My hayfever has been terrible and usual nausea and headaches... Woke up bouncing out of bed today though so thinking i may be through the worst! Mind you i did fall asleep at 930 last night so that may be why :)

Can we make it 5? :-)

I had my DD through ICSI in 2011 and was abolsutely shocked to discover that I got a naturual BFP on friday night, I went for a reassurance scan on saturday and im about 5 and a half weeks, no heart beat yet, but I am being sick daily and certainly feel very pregnant, so im tentatively preying, that although somehow im going through an unplanned pregnancy, that all will contiue to go well... we were planning on doing more ivf in 2015... looks like it wont be needed now if things keep going well. :) I have my booking in appointment on september 12th but might end up booking another private scan before then because to be honest I will start going out of my mind.

Hope everyone is feeling as best as they can. xx Kim

Hi Sparky. Hi Tiggs :-)

I am a hypnotherapist sparky, I really enjoy the work that I do, I trained in it as an access to the pyschotherapy I now study at Universary, its all very rewarding.

Tiggs, sorry to hear that you have got the nausea, mine is terrible too today. hope things ease a bit soon.

Does anyone else feel really faint, i constantly have that feeling like i have stood up to quick, even when i have been siting down for some time, im drained off all energy atm. I really dont think my body does pregnanct very well... 35 weeks to go, :-)

I too was dizzy, its weird isnt it! my new thing is... Waking early... 5.30 today.
Had some really acute pain today but when I sneezed it felt even worse so I'm thinking and hoping its round ligament pain.
A week to go until my 12 week scan and already nervous about the results (we have chromosomal abnormalities on my husbands side). But also feeling excited too as saw a friends little one yesterday and found it hard not blurti g out that Im preg again.

Hope you're all well xxxx

So now another week of waiting for NS results then we can tell people... How you'll doing?
Im feeling soooooo much better, but very tired tonight... Went out last night and worked today!

Welcome Ellie and Kelly!

Sparky - so glad your scan went well. Must be so reassuring. DD was sleeping on her tummy at our 12 scan and wouldn't move! Glad you're feeling better too!

I'm feeling very tired and still very nauseous most of the time. All good though. 3 more weeks until our 12 week scan. Was thinking about getting a private one at 10 weeks but not sure we can spare the money just now. I have to get a biopsy on my foot tomorrow using local anaesthetic for an ongoing problem I've had since I was expecting DD. Really not looking forward to it.

Hope everyone else is well.

Sorry Guys that I have been absent for a while - been away on holiday for the last two weeks or so.
But back now.

Inik, than you for the big welcome :)
It feels absolutely wonderful. It was a little scary at first as I did not want to begin to believe and bond with the baby before it felt real. It still does not to a certain extent as I want to see the 12 week scan.
DH and have somehow managed to tell quite a few people but I am paranoid. We are fortunate that we have a very loving and supportive family - so they all know. Plus my closest girlfriends know as well. We kinda took them on the journey of IVF with us. But aside that I am a fairly private person and don't want to tell anyone until they look at me and say "are you pregnant?" :whistling:

Ellie, I am keeping my fingers crossed and saying a prayer for you that it is ok and nothing serious. I know how it feels to bleed and it is not a pleasant thing at all. Keeping you in my thoughts.

I hope all you lovely ladies are doing well.
Wishing us all babydust and health and happiness.

Oh! I forgot to tell how the scan went. It went well and seeing the heartbeat was awesome!
DH cried - and our sonographer called the baby Fred so we have resorted to saying "Fred" is doing well : D
We are 9 weeks pregnant today and want to have a private scan as our next official scan is not till the 12 to 14 weeks. I cannot wait that long! I need re-assurance I think.
Just not sure where to go for the scan privately. But will google.

How is everyone else doing?

Hope you're okay Ellie. Good luck for your scan. I'm sure everything will be fine.

Fialor - glad your scan went well but know what you mean about it not quite feeling real until after 12 weeks.

Hope everyone else is well.

Hope you're enjoying this fab weather! I'm in holiday (in uk) next week so hope it lasts!

Fialor, glad your scan went well!
Ellie... Honey I've been where you are... I'd had a 6.5 week scan then had spotting until 9 weeks! It was brown but there was a fair bit... All was fine so hoping things are for you.

Quick message as DS asleep and I'm not working today so going to get some zzzzzzs for half an hour too. My only symptoms now aste hunger/cravings and tiredness! Don't feel preg symptoms anymore... Weird, still hoping alls okay! X

Thanks sparky, glad to hear all is ok with you.
Had scan, and doc didn't seem too concerned about the spotting.
Seen one heartbeat, so that was great.
Apparently I'm still hyperstimulating which explains my discomfort.
Anyway, got told to rest for a few wks- which I am doing.
How is everyone else?
I'm tempted to have a 10wk scan private. Has anyone else done this?

Sparky - thank you for asking. Biopsy went well thanks. Won't get the results for about 5/6 weeks though. Foot is tender and sore. Couldn't drive so called in sick today, plus got a really bad cough, which is making my nausea worse and had an upset tummy! Boss was not too sympathetic though and told me I'd have to get public transport the rest of the week if I still couldn't drive, even though to get to the train station I'd have to drive! Argh! What kind of problem do you have Sparky? Mine is intense, hot itching with little bumps, mainly at night. Drs are not sure if its a type of eczema or infection of some kind. Drives me nuts though.

Ellie - glad your scan went well. Bet you were relieved to see your little one's heartbeat. Hope your bleeding has stopped. Good the Dr didn't seem worried.

We decided to book a private scan so I booked one for Saturday, when ill be 10w3d. Looking forward to it. Need some reassurance and the 12 week scan still seems ages away! I am getting bigger already, as DH kindly points out but think others have noticed too! We haven't told DD yet but DH touched my tummy tonight and said "what's in there?" and she said with a big smile on her face, "a baby!" DH swears he hasn't said anything to her! It was very cute though, might tell her after Saturday's scan, if not will just wait until after the 12 week one. Can't wait to share this experience with DD.

Hope everyone else is well.

X

Ah Tiggs that us sooooo sweet that your DD said that. I thinks DS knows something's going on... We'll wait until we know the sex I think! Re my foot... It's a bit yucky fungal thing that I can't shift!!! I have extreme eczema when preg, and hay fever so youRs may worse as preg!

Brill news Ellie... I panicked too and was fine but good to have some reassurance... I had a private scan at 10 weeks it was well worth it! I've had my 12 week one (still awaiting results of NS combined results) and don't see midwife until 16 weeks... Tempted to have another scan :)

Hi all.

Sorry for my absence, also took a holiday and have been busy with work.

To be honest I have been trying not to think about being pregnant because part of me is convinced I am going to miscarry ;(

I normally a troop for positive thinking but it's just that most of my symptoms have gone and I don't feel that this can really be happening. My midwife appointment to book in is not until September 12th and then the will have to book me in for a scan, I'm considering having another private one but I'm terrified at the same time.

Sorry for the negative post, congrats to those who have made it to twelve weeks, have seen lovely wee heart beats and can star to share the news.

I think I will book a 10wk scan. I have my midwife appointment tomorrow. So will get a 12 wk scan booked then- but I know a few folk recently who have all had to wait to 14 wks! They seen way more but I so can't wait that long, ill go mad..
I'm tryin to keep positive, but it's hard, every little twinge is a worry.
Signed off for two wks rest- I'm not good at rest, and with DS running mad , rest isn't really a word in this house. He has
A club every night he needs driven too. DH is going back off to work for a wk now :-(
Hope everyone is well and no problems

Hi Kim and Ellie (and all you other 1st tri ladies)

Gosh... The drama we have eh! I was in bits when spotting... But all was fine at 12 week scan...
My symptoms came and went Kim, theyve completely gone now at 13 weeks, which is making me nervous. Sendingbyou both positive vibes... Hopingbthe chilling out is going okay Ellie... Hopefully you and DS can watch some family movies!

All those lucky ladies who fall preg naturally have pretty much none of the angst we go through, we have to tell ourselves its what weve been through which is making us worry so much... Im 13.5 weeks and still cant bring myself to tell many people! Luckily im away next week then busy week after with DS startingbpreschool so think i can get away with not telling most until im past my 16 week midwife appointment and can then (fingers crossed) hear a heartbeat!
I know im crazy but since my DS ive had an ectopic, 2 fets, 2 icsi and a late/mmc ... i know some go through more but im pretty mentally scarred i think!

On a positive note... What amazingbweather! Im off workmthis week so going to take DS out for a walk andvplay today.
Im supposed to pop over into 2nd tri i thnk but think i may be on my own so will keep dipping in here too. Take care all xxxx

Hi all,

Sparky - aw your foot problem doesn't sound good either :-(.

KTF - hope you're okay. It's hard isn't it to let yourself believe it after trying so hard and so long. I'm sure everything will be fine. Take it easy.

Had my first MW appointment today and all went well. Next appointment in 6 weeks. We're having our 10 week scan tomorrow. Looking forward to it.

Hope everyone else is well.

That's great tiggs, is that a private scan then?
I'm considering one.
I had my midwife appointment yesterday, she's putting me through as high risk, not exactly sure why, she mentioned my under active thyroid, anyway means I may get extra scans anyway.
I have to wait for a letter from the consultant to see when my next appointment will be

Hi Ellie,

Yeah it's a private scan.

I've been put through as high risk too due to having an emergency section with DD and referred to a consultant for that and the fact it's an ICSI pregnancy too.

I'm also rhesus negative and really hoping I have not developed any antibodies.

I've had some more spotting during the night. God it scares me. And DH isn't home just now. I'm petrified to move. Not that I actually believe resting will make any difference. I don't know whether to phone the hospital or not. At Least last wknd when it happened I had my 7 wk scan on the Monday. I don't know when my next scan will be or who to phone now...

Hi everyone,

TP - glad you had a good holiday in Cyprus. Where about did you go? I went to Paphos years ago and it was lovely.

Ellie - sorry to hear you've got more spotting. I would be very worried too. Hope everything is okay. I would phone your early pregnancy unit at your hospital to get advice / checked. Is it brown or red spotting?

I had a private 10 week scan yesterday and all is well. Baby was sleeping on his/her head to begin with (!) but had a move and a few wiggles and waves and kicks and we seen the heartbeat. Lovely to see baby getting bigger and doing well, very reassuring. We told DD this morning and showed her the photos and she is happy. She had guessed again Mummy has a baby in her tummy, clever wee cookie!

Hope everyone is well.

Let us know what the hospital say Ellie.

X
