Hi ladies

Sorry not posted on here for a while but I have been reading all your comments.

Just wanted to pop in for some advice. Am now 9w3d and this afternoon I've started with some dark brown spotting. Took my nephew on a tractor ride at a farm attraction today. Was quite (but not excessively) bumpy. When I got home I had a small stain in my knickers and some stringy brown discharge when I wiped (sorry if tmi!). Have been resting ever since and it has eased up a little. No pain. Have been chatting to my sister who said she had bleeding up to 16 weeks with her son!

I know some others of you have had some spotting. Did you ring anyone or just ride it out? Trying so hard not to panic but am naturally worried.

Hope you all are doing well xx

Hi Sunflowerliz- Im sure you remember I had lots of brown spotting.. First time it happend I just tried to sleep and the next day when I still had it I called my clinic but they said dont worry and brown discharge is normal.. Only if it would turn in to red blood or if you get lots of pain then go to A&E.
I had the brown discharge from week 6 to almost week 9.. One day I bleed when whipe and went to A&E and had emergency scan...
I would say just observe it.. if its only brown discharge (which is very worrying but also very common) just try to rest. If you get red blood or lots of pain then go to A&E... If you really worried just go to A&E and they will do the scan to put your mind at rest.
Big Hugs

How was it this morning?

Thanks Inik.
It was a little better this morning but still there. I rang the nurse from our IVF clinic and she said pretty much what you just said. She said they could potentially see me for a scan but she'd rather not, otherwise I could get into the habit of having a scan for every little worry (would be up there every day!!) which I thought was fair enough. I already have a scan booked for 5th June so she's encouraged me to wait until then if I can. Obviously she said to call again if it is painful or red. Just sitting doing nothing all day today as it's my day off but might take tomorrow off work just too make sure I properly rest.

My sister and her family have now gone home after staying for a few days. Was so lovely to have them here and the house is so quiet without my 2 little nephews now (aged 2yrs and 7months). We told her and her husband our news. They were thrilled and really helpful. They live in Newcastle so we don't see them very often so was lovely to be able to tell them face to face.

Helen - not sure if I said welcome yet! Lovely to "see" you again after the April group. Hope you are bearing up alright on this crazy ride!

Good to hear its bit better... to be honest if I was you I would probably go to A&E today and ask them to have a scan.. Just as looking at your history I bet it must be even more stresfull and worrying for you... Im sure they would book you for scan asap
But then on another site you do have the scan for next week... so just go with what you feel you want to do...

Its lovely to have a family around to share the good news :) x

AFM- Im probably going mad but Im sure I felt the baby today! I was driving and I felt the "bubles" sensation on the right site where the baby is :) I looked it up and they say in second pregnancy you can start to feel it from around 3 months...hmm Im kind of thinking its to early but I was sure it was the baba :) how cool is that :)

Sunflowerliz, hi Hun. I can't help I'm afraid as I'm a newbie to all this, but I have my fingers crossed for you, that everything is well. I think if it was me, I would want to make sure that everything is alright, unless its stopped now.

It's very logical that brown blood should be less worrying, Inik is the expert in this I think, but I'm sure that just the worrying is not helping you, even if its nothing.

What have you got to lose by getting checked out? Nothing. Don't worry about putting others out (my biggest issue!), put yourself first, and if you're worried, go and get checked. Peace of mind is so important, and Wed Is a long time to wait.

I hope in the last couple of hours it's all stopped and you are feeling better xxxxx blowkiss

Morning!

Thanks Inik and Helen. It got less and less as the day went on yesterday and then none just now when I got up. I'm going to try and wait till the scan next week and try to just trust what the nurse has said to me about it being normal. My husband is very sensible about this sort of thing and says why ask a professional, highly trained person for advice if you're then not willing to accept/trust it?
Rang my manager yesterday and explained what was going on (she knows the whole situation) so I am officially off sick today to rest some more. I don't work Friday's so now not in again until Monday when she said we'll do the proper pregnancy risk assessment for my job.

All in all feeling calmer about things :)

Ooh Inik how exciting if you can feel the "bubbles" already! I have heard that after your 1st baby things might happen sooner with the next one. : D

Hey guys

Sunflowerliz, that's great it's stopped. Ease your mind a little I hope, rest up and eat cake, that will help! xxx

Inik amazing! Oh hun I'll bet that feels incredible! !

Sounds like we all have scans next week, mines on Monday....

I'm so scared there won't be anything there, or there won't be a heartbeat. Did you two feel the same? Or am I mad? I think my husband is getting frustrated with my negativity, but I need to prepare myself in case it's bad!

How is everyone else? Xxx

Hi everyone,

Welcome to all of the newbies, I hope you're all doing well.

Sunflowerliz, I'm so happy to hear the spotting has stopped and I think it's fantastic that you're trying to keep calm and act 'normal' as they say. It's hard but I really think it'll pay off in the end :). Your boss sounds fantastic so it sounds like you're getting proper support from them.

Helen - I was exactly the same before my 7wk scan and even though I've now had my 12 wk scan I've started wondering a little again. It becomes so much easier once you've heard that little heartbeat though, if that helps.

Rb76 how are you feeling? Sparkles I hope you're well too.

Inik29, I've felt bubbles a few times and I've wondered if I was feeling the baby. I gathered it was too early, especially since this is my first but now I'm beginning to wonder. I may just pretend that I am :).

So I'm now actually 14wks, so I'll probably hang out in the 2nd tri section. I will be popping back to see how you're all getting on and I'm looking forward to you all joining me soon  . Stay positive ladies.

xx

Hi ladies

Just a short post, wanted to say big congratulations to the new ladies and hoping the wait for scans goes quickly. It's worse than the 2ww isn't it?

Sorry to have been AWOL for a while, I've found early pregnancy a very emotional time and have not felt well for a lot of it, with one thing or another! I am now over 11 weeks, we had a scan at 10 weeks and both twins were doing well, so we are now waiting for our consultant appointment on Friday and our twelve week scan a week tomorrow.

We have told our parents our news now and everyone is thrilled, very funny to see jaws drop when we say twins lol

Look forward to seeing you all in second trimester chat soon x

Over the moon inik, but historically if I relax then it goes pearshaped :(
I'm staying reserved till I have a 2nd scan next monday as I was dated 'just 6weeks' - I got my bfp on 6th May and I was expecting to be at least 7weeks last monday and have scared myself silly with too much googling
Fingers crossed everything goes well from now on!
Not long till your 12week scan! Hope it goes well

Ros when is your scan next week? Mine is in the morning
Hope your consultant appointment goes well this week

Sunflowerliz hope your spotting has settled

Splodgeface so pleased you are heading over to 2nd trimester, it must be such a good feeling!

Missyg hope u are ok, coping for the wait till scan date

Helen I'm with u on poas, I had a 'Gavin n Stacey' moment with all mine, did another the other week and was chuffed to get a dark test line immediately!

Hi all,

I am really hoping this will post as we are away and have rubbish wifi signal!

Inik, best of luck for tomorrow, I have my fingers firmly crossed for you. And I know how pleased you must be to be coming off those horrible pessaries. I am now in maternity jeans, at nearly 8 weeks, and I blame those horrible things! Keep us posted! blowkiss

Sunflowerliz. How did your scan go? I also have a selfish reason for wanting to know, as I now have the brown spotting. Since last night, not loads, but enough to scare me and its still going. I phoned the clinic and they said no bleeding is normal, but to keep an eye on it in case it goes red, as you said Inik.......

How is everyone else? It's so very quiet in here, I suppose we're all busy worrying and being knackered!
Much love ladies xxxx

Im having the biggest headache in my history. Couldnt sleep and now I feel like something is banging with a hammer on my head... Im guessing its the stress and worrying adding to my "normal" headache. Scan at 11.40 ..

Inik :congrats:

So happy for you. I bet it was such a relief. Does that mean you can now tell everyone ( wasn't sure if you had already?) and finish the pessaries, and you'll be leaving me for 2nd tri? How amazing. I can't wait to be there, I hope some of the worry has calmed for you?

Much love honey xxx

Congrats inik! Hope the good news has helped your headache ease x
Those prog pessaries were awful! I went on the injectables despite my needle phobia, needle was a feckin foot long!!

Helen brown spotting is usually fine, dont forget your hormones will b even more screwed with all the ivf drugs which could b the reason for the spotting
My 1st ivf went wrong with red spotting a few days after bfp, i blame not being kept on progesterone for it going wrong that time. The second bfp went wrong a few weeks in and quickly went from brown to red spotting.however theres no rhyme or reason and u cant judge whats gonna happen, only keep the faith that your embie is dislodging some old blood as it gets comfy :)

Last nightshift this week for me, im so tired i dosed off for 5mins last night, shall b setting my alarm tonight :pinch:

Hello ladies!

Sorry been a bit slack in being on here this week!!

Inik and Helen congratulations on your scans this week. Always a tense moment until they tell you they can see the [zx076] isn't it!

Helen - how's the spotting going? hope it's eased up/stopped. Was it pretty soon after your scan? Could the scanning probe have dislodged any old blood? Just a thought, not even sure if that's possible!!! I was told that as long as it wasn't red and there wasn't any cramping not to worry, so I just rested more than usual and it passed off. Not had any more since.

So I had my scan on Wednesday. Had to go on my own this time as DH had already had time off for an appointment of his own this week. He had to have open heart surgery (planned) last October and this was his 6 month (ish) check-up with the specialist and he passed with flying colours  . So, anyway, my scan all went well. It was amazing to see how much it had changed in the last 3 weeks, definitely much more like a baby now! Measuring at 10w1d but my dates put me at 10w4d (but they say the measurements are +/- 5 days). I initially worried as I wasn't sure if it should be moving about but the nurse said they have rest times just the same as anyone. She moved the probe to check my ovaries and when she went back to the baby it had done a total 180 degree flip! I think I'm still in a bit of disbelief that this is really happening so I hope I didn't seem "not interested" but I'm trying so hard to stay calm and not get ahead of myself.

Next scan is the official dating scan on 18th June when I will be 12w3d. Have had my first midwife appointment which went really well and she has booked me in to see a consultant because of our previous late loss and I will also be offered more scans because of that. Additionally we will be offered a detailed cardiac scan to check the baby's heart because DH was born with his heart condition. Thankfully though there is only a very small chance that it could be passed on as no one else in his family has it. I'm going to be a "scan junkie" at this rate whoops3

Anyway, hope you are all doing well and enjoying this gorgeous weather xx

Thank you ladies.
Sunflowerlitz- OMG- I hope your DH is recovering well..
Glad all went well on your scan :) Its great you can have so many of them- It will hopefully keep you reasurred.. The dates are bit confusing isnt it, thanks for telling me the scan date is +/- 5 days as i was thinking my baby is a giant lol. the hospital said Im 11w 6 d now but I will stuck to my first dates I think.. well for now anyway :)

Helen- How is your spotting? I did told family and friends almost as soon as I had my test. I didnt want to make a big secret of it to be honest - I thought that if my family knows then it will feel more reall to me :) And then with my neausea etc I dont think I would be able to hide it for a long anyway.
I did ask DH if I should say it on FB now that we are 3 months gone as its seems like the thing ppl do now but Its bit to much I think... :x:
This scan was the 12 w dating scan and it wasnt in my IVF clinic. I was told to stop the drugs by 12 weeks and they give me a list to show how and when to reduce them. So I was going to stop them whatever the result of scan would be.

I Gues I will be moving to 2nd trimester soon but I hang around here bit more :)

curlywurlyllass- i bet you well happy to see the back of your night shifts :) have a good lie in today zzzz

How is our twin lady doing RB76?

Hi Ladies! :hi:

Sorry been a little quiet this week, my DH took me away and had the most rubbish signals for anything! :cheeers:

Inik, all they told me about the pessaries when I had my 7 week scan was "just take them for 3 more weeks". Nothing about decreasing, or anything structured. Hmmmm, it seems they all do it differently. So I would stop at about 10 weeks. Hmmmmmm......... :S Glad you're sticking around for now!!

Sunflowerliz, so glad all is well with you, glad they are giving you extra scans, and I am glad your DH is ok, you guys seem to have been through a lot huh? I am also glad too about the +/- dates, they put me back 4 days and I was really disappointed!!!

So I was bleeding Tues night and Wed, then thurs, nothing. yippee! So I relaxed again - Sunflowerliz, I did think it may have been the scan probe, but the hosp thinks not. They made me worry so much ("bleeding is NEVER normal is pregnancy") my DH phoned them back and he made me feel a little better. However, stupidly or not, this pregnancy is giving me certain "moods" and yesterday am we kind of [zx084] . And now I am bleeding again. Last night and today. Only a little. I don't know whether to worry or not, it does not seem to have gotten any heavier. I don't know what to do......

So hope you are al well, Inik, are you feeling any better now?

Curlywurlyllass how are you doing, feeling any better?

Sending much love to you all

Helen- you was bleeding or brown spotting? Ok so DO NOT HAVE [zx084] IF YOU HAD BLEED! for first 3 months they say its not allowed if there was bleeding. So send your DH to spare room for next 2 months lol.
Are you actually bleeding? If its read blood I would go to A&E. Hope its nothng to worry about chick. It looks like most of us have the spotting at some stage.

AFM- I just want to say that I had to put my matternity trousers on today for first time and I look like 5 months gone already today! Not sue why it come up in last couple of days - maybe its the wind as im properly bloated but wow its a proper bump :)

Sorry i maybe made that sound overdramatic. Its not "bleeding". Well Tues and Wed was brown spotting. Last night was red. but only when i wiped, and watery, but bright red. then nothing for a few hours. then today, back to spotting again and i cant decide if its brown or red, but its only a little..... its scaring me but I don't think its enough to go rocking up to A&E.......

I had my maternity jeans on this week too (had to buy some, so bloated its ridiculous) and was away so no-one knew me, but i look so pregnant people noticed!! Wacky! Not sure how I'm going to go back to work tomorrow and hide it again... but I swear Inik, arent they the comfiest thing on the planet, I think I might live in mine forever!!!!! How lovely you are showing!!!

I think the worry has put me off [zx084] for the foreseeable future!!!!

Sunflowerliz hope dh's follow up app went well

inik- im not in mat clothes but asda have fantastic stretchy waist trousers :D i bought some and the shorts type too in april for my holiday so im pleased they are stretchy! Ideal for this lovely weather ;) and a growing tummy!

Helen i hope the spotting stops, your ladygarden is probably super sensitive the now, hope thats the reason for it. But if i gives you worry then speak to someone and get checked out.
Ive only once BD since bfp- think dp is scared lol i am too, so we r pretty much on sex bans!

Ive had a bad day and im hoping the pains ive had since last night are due to dehydration from all the sun i got yesterday. My right kidney area (round my back) is mega sore, tear worthy :( and ive also got terrible wind/constipation pains. Feel so sick with it. Petrified it will mean bad news.
Scan in the morning so i have everything crossed.

hope you have all got out into the lovely weather over the weekend despite all your worries

Helen- that sounds like my history of spotting/bleeding.. I did had brown spotting for 3 weeks and one night when whipe it was light red but i run straight to a&e for scan..
Hopefully it will all settle down soon but keep and eye x Yes my spotting put me off sex too- no more fun till baby is born :poketongue2:

curlywurlyllass- Good luck for tomorrow. Im constantly having pain in my back and belly- feels like a AF pain but it stops when I let the wind out :chortle: so im guessing its the trapped wind..

Yes the matternity clothes are brill, i had lots from my first pregnancy but bought some maternity leggins of ebay and i think I will live in them :)

Hi ladies

Shirlz congrats on your successful scan, so exciting for you and DP, you must be so chuffed.. Amazing how many people get natural BFPs after treatment? Shame we can't see into the future isn't it could save a fortune on treatment lol!

Inik sorry to hear you have been feeling poorly, I've had a few days the same where have hardly been able to drag myself out of bed but fingers crossed things do seem to be improving!

Helen sorry to hear of the worrying you have been having, hope all is settling down a bit for you now.

Sunflower Liz hope you are doing ok, good luck for your scan on the 18th

Well I had my 12 week scan today and all was well  two bouncing little babies, one particularly active! So I will see you all on the second tri soon as will be off there at the end of the week :)

Hi all, :bye:

Curlywurlyllass, so pleased for you, :weehee: it must have been such a relief for you! I cried too. I think we spend so long preparing ourselves for the worst it's such a relief, and it's so difficult having no control over the outcome!

RB76, Yey!!!! Hope you are feeling a little better, I know you said you haven't been particularly well. Hoping its all good from here on in, at least until you get a little closer to meeting those twins!

Inik, how are you feeling? I'm glad you are nearly done with the pessaries! I am so jealous! Horrible things, here's hoping you flourish now you're off them, and you can't leave me for 2nd tri! I'll just have to come following you in a few weeks!

I don't have another scan booked, or a midwife appt or anything yet! I'm in limboland. I'm 8weeks+4 today, and discharged from the clinic and waiting on my midwife appt at 10weeks ish. They say my scan will be between 12 and 14 weeks (14 weeks! I can't wait that long!) So I had the spotting again sat, sun, and a little Mon, but seems to have stopped again now. Seriously thinking about paying for a private scan just to put my mind at rest. But no sex for me!!

Much love all xxxxxx :hugs:

Helen you dint have to go for private scan- if you really want to have scan go to A&E in the eve, tell them you had some bleed and they will check you over and do the scan then and there (or book you in for nxt day)
It is very worrying but as I said before its happen offten.

Hmmm I know Inik, I just don't want to bother them there- it's only spotting, and it's stopped now. I think I just want reassurance without the drama. A friends sister had a couple of scans at a clinc nearby and said they were brilliant. They charge £85. I know it's expensive but I've booked one in for next week as hubby is away for 2 weeks and it'd be nice to have the peace of mind before he goes. Besides, not even seeing my midwife for bloods until 11weeks, they can't fit me in! So god knows when my scan will be!

Hope you have a nice hol Inik,you deserve the r n r !

Oh dont worry about bothering other ppl when I went to A&E they were so nice- they say that its always best to get checked and they seen me within 10 min from my arrival.. but if its stopped and you feeling ok to wait ( I rushed to hospital as soon as I seen the blood - red blood). Im sure you will be fine.. it looks like there must be something in the air this last couple of months as almost all of us had the spotting
Mine stopped at 9 weeks and I didnt had nothing since.

Oh I will enjoy the holiday :cheeers: 2 weeks in a sun is what I need. And my DH always looks after DS in day time on hols so it will be me, non alcoholic coctail and a book [zx187]

Hope your scan goes well (well im sure it will :). After you had your first midwife appt you should get your 12 weeks scan asap- i had mine week after the appt.
ps what you doing up at 12.08am! you should be getting your beauty sleep zzzz ;)

curlywurlyllass- how is your back? PS try to drink prune juice- i know its not nice but it helps with the constipation and trapped wind - and its possible thats what cause the pain.

Big hugs ladies

:bye: Yey Inik! So glad you're feeling better! Maybe finally you can start to enjoy it a bit more, and your holiday too! Sounds like my kind of holiday!

Hehe we went out with friends for dinner last night and had such a lovely evening we lost track of time! Was asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

So my DH called in a favour and booked me in for a scan today. All is well. 9week baby, heartbeat and looking healthy and moving! :weehee: SO amazing. I have a blood clot which is causing the bleeding, but is far away enough to not be a problem. No [zx084] though!! Should solve itself, possibly with a bit more bleeding, but no danger of harm to baby. So bloody relieved.

Hope the rest of you are well, hoping there should be some new ladies moving in soon, as there are some moving on to 2nd tri........

Much love all xxxxx
