Ok ladies am tiptoeing in........

Am 8 weeks today with twins! Had scan and saw both heart beats. Have had lots of spotting and they could see on my scan I have bleeding inside my uterus so that will come away over time. So I guess that means I can try not to panic...unless its bright red.

Have been suffering terribly with sickness. All day every day for the last 2 weeks. Was given some sickness meds today but not sure if I will take them, might try and solider on a wee while longer.

Hope everyone else ok.

RW... I saw in ur diary ur scan wasn't conclusive. I will keep everything crossed that next weeks scan will show the little heartbeat going strong.xxxxx

Just popping over very quickly. Cherlou, congrats. I had the same, they saw a big area of bleeding on the side of my uterus and I had quite a few big bleeds between 10 and 18 weeks, red, clots and brown, but all fine, so try not to worry too much, at least you have a reason for all the spotting now. Hope the sickness isn't too awful! xxx

Hi,

I wondered if I could join. We had 7 week scan this morning and all is well. Couldn't believe it, I convinced myself that they would not find anything (no morning sickness, no sore boobs no real symptoms other than fatigue - but that could be the acupuncture), I was in a bit of a state. But we saw everything we should do, heard the heard beat 3 times and can't stop looking at the photo. Big fat phew! DH wants to call baby 'Chile' until we find a name.

RW, I hope you get the amazing result you deserve at your next scan.

Hi Red Willow,

I've been a little scared to join, and had planned to wait for my 2nd scan, but hey ho here I am!

I've not had morning sickness, but I do feel nauseous most of the day, the worst in the evenings, when I can't face anything but toast, and like you cheese! I love cheese anyway, but seem to be reaching for it all the time! Funny though as the NHS website says to stay away from fatty food, maybe they mean fried things and chocolate? Who cares it's working for me.

Hiya EE glad you have joined us congratulations x3 for you. You could try sea bands they worked for a while for me. I like cheese and ritz crackers

I am feeling a bit down the last few days I have not been able to keep anything down. Went to doc today and they said I have severe morning sickness and gave me some anti sickness pills and told me if it doesn't calm down in 2 days then I will need to be admitted to be rehydrated. They wanted me to go in today but said I wanted to wait a little longer so have agreed if it is not better by Friday I will go back as at least dp would be able to look after ds if I do.
I don't like taking meds but they say it is dangerous for me as baby will take everything and leave me with nothing so I guess to look after baby I need to sort myself. I guess I feel a bit let down by my body.

Rw I am also suffering terribly and was given tablets. What I did was took them for a few days so I could rehydrate and then came off them again. Since coming off them I have been sick again but that's what they advised. So will take them again when I get to a point where I can't cope again an just keep going with that cycle. In saying that yesterday I was only sick 4 times which is pretty amazing for me. My consultant said it should start to ease soon. It's horrid tho...I have been so miserable and nothing apart from the tablets have made any difference.

EE good to see u in here xxx

I had 10 week scan tues and both twinnies doing well. Slowly but surely am getting there. Roll on 12 weeks!

In fact roll on the second tri so hopefully we can all start to feel better!!

Cherlou you've had such a hard time, I really hope it starts to ease for you soon. Will you continue to have scans every 2 weeks as you're having twins or is it something ARGC do? 2nd trimester isn't too far away for you

I've no idea what happens after 12 weeks EE, think Argc don't see me for cans so probs just NHs.
Got a call last night to say I need IVIG today so spent the night crying as we simply can't afford another £2000! Plus it meant having to be off work when I've just got back. But am on train now and will do what I have to do I guess. 8 hour train ride round trip, plus 4-5 hours hooked up to a drip = a pretty pants day :(
But I need to toughen up and just get on with it. Am turning into a right moaning Minnie!

Hope you all start to feel better soon. MS really should be renamed to all day sickness. I hope the tablets help and also the progression of the pregnancy starts to ease it off for you. Try to remember in all the misery that you are growing a baby/babies and it is all worth it in the end when you hold your LO(s) in your arms : D

Hey ladies
Been rubbish posting in here...am sorry!!

Am 13+3 today :) Had nuchal scan on Tues and babies measured at 13+5 and both were low risk for downs so happy times. Am still sick sick sick but is a little better than it was. Generally just sick after I eat now, morning and lunch is the worst. Do worry about my health tho as I have puked loads every day for last 7 weeks. They say by 16 weeks it might ease.

Moved over the holidays and am trying to get into new doctors but can't eat registered until 14th jan as the person who does it is away. So wont be seeing a midwife until I'm at least 16 weeks...little bit worrying. My weekly cans have stopped now so not sure how I will cope not getting that weekly reassurance. Have ummed and ahhed about getting a Doppler but so many people have warned me against them. Plus with twins I'm not sure how I would distinguish one heart beat from another.

So looking forward to getting in with midwife and being given more info about what happens next.

Hope everyone else ok and that 2013 is a great year for us all xxxx

Hi Cherlou,

I've been rubbish posting in he too, I think it's because I'm so worried it'll all be taken away from me. I'm sure I'll feel more relaxed when I get to the 2nd trimester and I'll be posting much more.

Glad your move went ok, I hope you're taking things easy. I'll stop by your diary to see how the chat went with your new boss.

I'm tempted by a dopler too, DP thinks it's a bad idea just incase I can't find the heart beat and freak out. I think checking for two might be a challenge

I went maternity bra shopping today, I'd been putting it off not wanting to tempt fate, but I'm bursting out of my bras and after my scan yesterday decided to be brave and just get on with it! She fitted me with a non wired bra, not a maternity one....I've gone from a 32B/C to a 34D! Super comfy now but it looks massive :chortle: I'm not used to such full coverage!

My next scan isn't until the 23rd, so only a couple of weeks to go. I guess that's you in the 2nd trimester, I'll be following you shortly...

I have been bad too I can't believe on Friday I will jump to the second trimester already!!
I have my 12 week scan on Monday I hope everything is ok I am a bit worried as I have had so much go wrong from the start.

I am keeping everything crossed as it seems that the sickness is slowing down a bit which is a great relief it was really starting to get me down. I am sure when I have got rid of this stinking cold I will also feel less tired and more human!

I must admit I love my Doppler and so does ds his fave game is to listen to the baby it's soo sweet to listen to him talking to the baby he says hello I am your brother Christopher I want you to come and play!!

Hope you guys are feeling ok!

Dipping my toe in very quietly ...

Hi All,

Thought I'd tentatively pop in as I've been floating around the boards for the last week since I got my BFP last Monday so today we're 4+5 so quite nervous. I had mild OHSS and was on Clexane injections for a week. Touch wood, symptoms are virtually away.

Our first scan date came through this morning for 18 February - it seems a life time away but I'm sure will come in fairly quickly.

Symptom-wise I've been feeling quite ill but only sick once, loving oxtail soup, in and out of the loo constantly all day and 2-3 times during the night. I'm also having a few cramps but apparently that's normal? Boobs are a lot bigger too and quite painful.

Hi Ladies - i'm very tentatively dipping my toes in here. Got a BFP last Saturday 09/02 and I don't think it has sunk in yet. Now the excitement and joy of seeing a positive result has gone, I'm feeling super anxious and don't quite believe I'm pregnant. I have my scan on Friday and can't wait for that day to come - just to make sure it's real and not just a sac. Also told my GP and they asked for a urine sample on Thursday to check I was definitely pregnant. They've yet to get back to me, so getting a little frustrated in the delay in them getting back to me. I almost want to buy a bulk load of pregnancy tests to test every day until my scan!

I'm finding it really difficult to stop thinking about it all - is this normal, regardless of the route of conception.

Droolpiggy - whats your due date?

All the best ladies

Popping into 1st Tri for the first time although I only have a few days left of it! I've got my 12 week scan on Friday and expect to be exactly 12 weeks that day.

I'm posting cos I read Katie's post about not really believing she's pregnant. Katie, I feel JUST the same! Even though I've already had a scan, at 7 weeks. For me, it might be because I feel a little better than I did in the first trimester with my first pregnancy, so I think of myself as somehow feeling less pregnant! Or it might be because our home life is very challenging at the moment, so the new baby's arrival seems so distant, way off in September. But I also think it's just part and parcel of getting used to the wonder of new life - it's such an amazing thing it's hard to get your head around it sometimes, and I'm sure that's the case regardless of the route of conception.

Katie, re the doc's sample, they will only get the same information from your urine sample that you can get yourself from an HPT. The best thing for you now is to hold on until your scan - Friday will soon come! I hope that you have a good scan and that there is some reassurance there for you. Then focus on being healthy and relaxed - that's absolutely the best thing you can do for your growing babba. :)

Chrissie, congratulations on your twinnies! How wonderful. Funny, when I saw your post about Oxtail Soup I went straight out and bought some even though I've never had it before in my life.

Keep well, everyone!

Hi All,

Just realised there was a bit more activity on here again - yayyy!!! I'm no longer along! : D

Katie - I'm 8 weeks exactly today and due technically 2 October - being twins though I'm sure we'll see them in September. It's still sinking in it's twins even though I keep gazing at the scan picture lol. When's your due date honey? (8 o)
BeeS: LOL @ oxtail soup - I have a whole cupboard full of the stuff and I no longer want it. Just looking at it makes me want to throw up lol. It must be such a good feeling getting through the first tri - when you're ready you'll need to migrate to the second tri board : D

Well, I definitely feel very pregnant - I'm nauseous all the time unless I eat but then it comes right back, heartburn predominately in the evenings, cramping most evenings, total exhaustion and I've been sick several times. They never said this was gonna be easy! To make me feel better today though I got my 12 week scan date thought the post for the 20 March so not that long - four weeks. Also called my midwife today to let her know it's twins as the ACS said she'll need to refer me to the twins clinic at the hospital. I saw the midwife quickly last Wednesday (before our scare on the Thursday) and our official booking in is for next Wednesday when we're 9 weeks. The only thing I'm getting a wee bit nervous about is that the twins have to make an exit - going to watch OBEM tonight as it's about multiples. Hopefully I don't scare myself too much! lolol

Katie I'm afraid most of us on here would say that the worry doesn't stop throughout the pregnancy although I guess it does lessen when you get to important milestones and everything is as it should be. In case you haven't already realised you are now signed up for a life of worrying - if doesn't stop when they arrive just changes :snigger:

Thanks for the replies guys
Chrissie - Are you finding any relief to the nausea? I'm the same. It's all the time - goes for about half an hour after I eat but then its back with a vengence. Not actually been sick, but been plenty close.

I had my scan today. Whilst it's good news that I saw the heart beat and yolk sac, the Dr was concerned with is size - only 0.34cm not the 0.5 - 0.6cm they'd expect at this stage (6w3d but 4w3d from EC). Dr said the angle the embryo has embedded itself has made it hard for them to get a good view of it, so I've got to go back in next week for another scan. I feel like my happiness is on hold until I know it's growing ok.

I'm going to be a terrible worry wart of a mother !!! :S

Awww Katie, It really must be worrying, but difficult as it is, please don't worry. At this stage it's so difficult to get measurements and even 1mm can make all the difference if the sonographer is slightly out. I've got everything crossed for you for next week honey. Let us know how you get on. In the meantime just keep celebrating - baby is in the right place and is continuing to grow :D.

Over the last two days the nausea hasn't been so bad during the day it just seems to get worse as the evening wears on. Another dinner i couldn't eat last night: fajitas. Gave me terrible heart burn. Cramps are now also gone thank god! My boobs on the other hand - OMG! are they sore! i got measured for a new bra last week before I ended up in hospital and I've gone from a 32A to 32D already! The girl in Debenhams said i could go all the way up to 38D before the end whoops3 . lol I have also found that my tummy bloating get's worse during the course of the day - by the evening i look about four - five months gone lol. Can't wait to have a proper twinnie baby bump.

TMI: but we finally attempted and was successful at BDing last night. I was slightly cautious as was OH but it's been on the back burner since the end of November. Thankfully no bleeding or spotting after, was definitely a big sigh of relief as I've been so worried about it.

Anyhoo, the dog's snoring away at my feet already and hadn't realised I'd written War and Peace lol.

Have a good weekend all!

Good on you for the [zx084] Think most are anbit cautious. We went through a phase or not doing much then going for it and now back to lots of massaging etc :P but no actual nookie. Just feels too weird when baby is kicking at the same time :snigger:

Hi all, not been on the site much but been doing loads of googling!!!

Mrs G - I am nauseaus most of the time during the day but seems to fade in the evening, although thats when the aches and crampiness tends to begin. Only been sick a couple of times and and my boobs vary from being super sensitive to absolutely fine. Also, I am shattered all the time. I'm having to have naps at lunch time at work, otherwise I'm not able to make it through the day - absolutely exhausting. Your scan is quite soon now isn't it?

Chrissie - After my scan last week we checked with DR about BD and he said it was fine to start again - so for the last wk we've been making up for lost time. Although OH says its wierd doing it knowing theres someone inside me :) That made me giggle.

I've got my next scan tomorrow. Not looking forward to it and had an horrendous dream last night - I was having the scan done and the Dr told me the little one had stopped growing and I would need to have a termination ;( . Woke up super anxious and now even more nervous about tomorrow. I know dreams are just representations of your sub-concious, but I wish my sub-concious would stop thinking such things!!!

Also, whilst I'm not obsessing about being pregnant as much as I did trying to get pregnant (I think I'm scared it'll fail at any time), I am still thinking about whats happening to me alot - maybe not on a par with how often men think about sex, but pretty close - is this compulsive thinking normal and effect most pregnant women?

Sorry for the long one, thats what happens when I try to stay away from the site - I just bottle it all up!

Take care of your self ladies.

Phew - Had my second scan and LO is growing a treat. 1.2cm and on track for a delivery date of 12th October!!!The clinic have discharged me now.
BIG sigh of relief and feel super happy. Me and OH were grinning like idiots after the scan. I didn't realise quite how low we were feeling after the last scan and its great to feel positive again. It now feels like full steam ahead  I've got an appointment with the midwife on Wednesday, so it's feeling more and more official ( like the nausea, tiredness and balloon boobs weren't enough evidence for me!).

All the best for your scan Mrs G, I know it's like the 2 week wait (maybe not quite as stressful), so I hope it flies by. Also hope the nausea, etc ease's up - I know I can't wait for these symptoms to end but at the same time really glad i have them.

xxx

Hi ladies hope you don't mind me joining.

I am pregnant after my 3rd cycle of IVF PGD. I am very early (4w5d). Since Monday I have been spotting mainly pink blood but sometimes red. It mainly happens when I wipe after the toilet. It's not enough to leave anything on a sanitary pad (maybe the smallest spot). I miscarried in May and its nothing like that - the blood was pouring out.

I've to attend clinic on Monday for a 3rd beta I'm sooooo scared x

Hopeful I spotted loads and sometimes more than just spotting with my twins at 6 weeks and again 8-9 weeks. They could never find a cause but everything was fine. Docs told me it's fairly common to have a little bleeding. I know it's really worrying but keep the faith hun xx

I'm just so scared because its going on so long, tomorrow that will be a week of spotting. I'm scared progesterone is covering up a miscarriage. I'm also on blood thinners which might be making it look worse. I'm so exhausted and petrified that tomorrow will confirm my fears. I'm not sure if I'm strong enough to cope with this happening again xx

Midwife appointment went well. I'm over weight so was told not to put any weight on and to be very aware of what I eat so I dont get gestational diabetes. I'm 9wk 2days now with an EDD of 12/10/13 - whats your due date? You'll be a couple weeks before me with your twinies. I am soooooooooo bloated. I didn't want to, but I had to get some maternity trousers for work as my belly is huge at the minute. I only have 4 more days of the pessaries then I can stop taking them and hopefully the bloatedness will go. I'm still waiting for my 12 wk scan appointment to come through - want some piece of mind everything is going ok, feels like an age since my last scan and its only been 2 weeks.

By the way - your allowed to be huge, especially with 2 bambinos on board - embrace the big belly (thats what I'm having to tell myself and I've only got 1!)

Lt me know how the scan goes on Friday
