Thanks Whiteangel, I have eaten well today and i had read the ginger biscuits help but did not touch me, felt better after any way so i will have to take it day by day. I have not been referred to maternity services yet, I was told that I would have my first scan on Tuesday and then if everything is ok I will be discharged with a letter to give to my GP. So I am going to try and get an appoinemnt with my GP after Tuesday and see what she says. Its starting to feel really real now with the mroning sickness and I am so looking forward to seeing my blob on Tuesday lol.

I wish i was more like you Jen, I want to eat everything and especially got a thing for satsumas which is funny as I did not like them before.

Clinic haven't given me any advice about midwives etc so I rang my GP's surgery and was told I didn't need to see a doctor but that the midwives like to see ladies between 8-10 weeks but that you have to go for the pre-booking presentation before you are allowed to make an appointment. I had to do that today as they won't be running the session next Sunday! :xmas2: Going to ring for my first appointment after my scan tomorrow morning but see if they can see me this week as I would expect them to be closed between Christmas and New Year and I'd rather avoid taking more time off work! Seems to be different depending on where you live. How confusing!

Hi Girls

Had another scan this morning, bit it felt like it was less clear than on Friday, and although he's 80& sure he saw the heartbeat he couldn't confirm it. Damn! Just want it all confirmed. I guess I'll have another one in the next week and maybe they'll see then.

Whiteangel really good luck for your scan today, hope you see something nice and clear with a strong heartbeat.

Taffycaz best of luck for your first one, hope you also see somethign good. And I hope the MS clears up, you poor thing. But at least you have symptoms, that's encouraging in itself.

Beanie good luck for tomorrow as well, hope your scan goes well.

Other than tiredness I still have no symptoms. Weird... Wish I could fast forward a few weeks to feel more chilled out about the pregnancy.

Not sure when I'm supposed to tell my GP etc. Maybe now I've had a 6 week scan? I don't know, it seems so early. What did everyone else do?

Think I've attached our photo, hope you can see it. Not very clear but we could definitely see it pulsing away! So relieved! What a magic moment!

hey everyone

We saw our baby's heartbeat today!! It was amazingingly clear and strong and we were both so chuffed. I feel a huge sense of relief now that we know it's OK and has a heartbeat. I think I was really tense before and so worried it wouldn't turn out well. Now I know our chances have gone up and I'm just so pleased.

We only have to go back in a week, so we can relax and have a lovely Christmas now :)

Hope everyone else if good, and for the first timers, you're all getting ready for your last Christmas as a couple!

I went to Lilypie, they're free. Lilypie - Maternity and Pregnancy tickers. And then after you've done it, choose the option where it says you'll be using it on forums, and says something about BB... click on that and you'll get the text you'll need to copy into your signature. Easy peasy!! Looking forward to seeing yours :)

I'm going home to watch rubbish TV too!! Enjoy your evening

Hi had our scan today and it went really well, baby was seen with a strong heart beat pounding away it was amazing to see on the screen. Only the one so the other embryo must have been reasorbed but we are on cloud nine at the moment!!! The baby measured right to its dates of 7 weeks so it growing well, staff at the clinic were so nice and happy for us, even the embyrologist came to see us and have a chat with us they are a really good team there. I have tried to upload my scan picture but it wont upload for some reason. Seems more real now that we have seen it on the scan!!

I have booked an appoientmnet with my GP tomorrow as I need more pessaries and so that they can refere me to maternity services anf get the ball rolling, exciting hey!!

Jewels , Whiteangel - well i was waiting for you two to put your tickers up before I out mine up, I went for a funny one lol

Jewels so glad you seen the heart beat today , it is amazing to see and to think that this is inside you growing.

Regarding the sex life question in our Niftys thread:

That's funny Taffycaz 'cos our clinic told us no sex during the cycle, or after, including the 2ww!! So considering we hadn't really made the most of it before starting, we're well into our drought now! I know it sounds ridiculous, but I am just so scared of rocking the proverbial boat! Besides the fact that I'm in bed by 9:30pm, so it couldn't really happen logistically, but maybe now it's time to relax a bit. Not that I'm feeling particularly sexy! With all the bruising from the clexane on my tummy, and the hard lumps on my arse from the progesterone injections, I'm hardly Sharon Stone at the moment!! But my DH is probably desperate enough to turn a blind eye ;)

Enjoy your evening!!! ;) nudge nudge wink wink

Lol jewels I am sure he loves you just the way you are lol. You don't know what to do for the best, hubby has been great mind and he is over the moon to be a dad again! I told him we had the rest of our life's to have sex but a small window to have kids lol! I am just starting to a bit normal with my tummy so it might be his lucky night bless him! They told me it was safe as a mucus plug would have formed by now to protect it, and if you think how many people have sex and don't find out for a few more weeks that they are pregnant seem to do ok. I surpose the time has got to be right for you hun!!

Just got back from seeing my GP with my discharge letter from the clinic, I am booked in to meet my midwife at the clinic and do my booking in scan on the 10th Jan, so not too long to wait. Seems a bit more rfeal to me today. Just gpot another 6 boxes of pessaries.......but get to stop these when I am 12 weeks and I can also stop taking my metformin so that will be nice after all.

Hi everyone,

I have been keeping up will all of your progress but just haven't had the time or energy to post! DS is keeping me busy and I am just exhausted all of the time. Most nights I am in bed by 9pm! We've all got colds at the moment but hopefully that means we will be well by the weekend. We are going to my parents anyway so I am sure I will have a lazy few days!!!

We have our 12 week scan tonight which I am very excited about but also a bit nervous as it all still seems to good to be true!!! I'll let you all know how it goes later.

Sorry for the lack of personals.....Hope you are all doing well and looking forward to Christmas! Not long now! xmas38

The scan went well, it was amazing to see our little baby again! He ( I keep saying he!) has changed so much since 7 weeks. I cried, like I do at every scan, I still can't beleive that we have been so lucky to have to be blessed with this miracle! The EDD due date has changed slightly so I will have to update my ticker, they actually brought it forward a few days. It was the same sonographer that we had the 12 week scan with when we had DS, amazingly she recognised us!!! DH has gone to work with the pictures to show his colleagues, I still haven't told my work. I'l tell them in the new year. I text a few friends last night with the news and I got some very shocked responses!!!Just can't stop smiling!!!!!

Having a bit of a panic this morning. Since 5ish weeks ive had m/s, weeing lots and an overwelming hunger along side food aversions. I've been waking in the night with hunger pains and sickness that is until this morning! I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and i woke up not feeling hungry or sick at all :( and i'm not feeling the same repulsion for food i had before! I am still getting twinges as I had before but thats it. I have a mw appointment on 28th at the hospital and i will ask her then but i know what the nhs are like for dishing out scans and im sure she'll say it can be normal and just to wait til 12 weeks :(

Sorry Jen, I don't know what to say to make you feel better, as I know you will worry regardless. I'm sure everyone's different and every pregnancy is different, and symptoms change, so maybe yours have just eased? Most people don't get m/s the whole time do they? But I know the only thing that will put your mind at rest is a scan, so maybe push them really hard for one at your appt. You could try and act really distressed and cry and see what they do? I know that sounds scaly, but needs must!

The one thing I can tell you is don't bother doing a preg test as it will come up positive regardless of if anything has happened. So don't waste your money. But I'm sure everything is fine, and maybe this evening you'll be puking your guts up! It sounds sick but I will wish that for you if you like!!

I know there's no point saying try not to worry, but try and have a good Christmas and relax, as there is nothing you can do. Hopefully your symptoms have passed as baby is doing well, and you just need to look after yourselves.

take care, and let us know if you manage to convince the m/wife to give you a scan

I have found that symptoms can vary by the day somedays the only symptom I have is tiredness other days I feel sick all day and can't stop eating. Try not to worry as lack of symptoms can be normal, some people are lucky enough never to get any! Try an d relax and I am sure the symptoms will soon be back when you least expect it! x

Thanks Ladies :) Although this is my second i didnt have any symptoms with DD which somehow made it easier not to worry (although i didnt think this at the time!) as i didnt experience any changes. I know of many people who experience a loss of symptoms and all was fine but it still doesnt stop me worrying :( xxxx

Hi Ladies

I just wanted to wish you all a lovely Christmas xmas35

Jen, it is always so difficult not to worry but if someone had gone wrong I'm sure your symptoms would not just stop over night. I haven't had much symptoms at all other than tiredness and that didn't happen straight away. I find it varies from day to day. Some days I feel the odd thing and others nothing. I try to ignore it now, as it just drives you insane. Good that you have your MW appointment next week, as I'm sure they will put your mind at rest.

I had my second scan on Tuesday, which was great. Can't believe the difference after 2 weeks. It looks more like a baby now and less like a peanut! you could see the limbs starting to grow. I have my first MW appointment next Friday when I will be booked in for my 12 week scan - on the NHS!!!! My first external scan!!

Hello girls!

Well the chaos of Christmas is over thank goodness. Back to reality. And no more MIL walking on eggshells! YAY ;)

Had our next scan on tues, Speckle measured 12mm and heart was beating nicely which is good. So we were feeling very happy til I visited the GP yesterday for my first appt to register the pregnancy and he couldn't wait to remind me how high the risk of m/c still was in the next few weeks! Arsehole. So that made my spirits plummet and am back to square one, feeling anxious.

And I have to srt out my own 12wk scan as he said I don't need a dating scan 'cos I know my due date from the IVF so I have no idea who to ring or anything. Gotto love the NHS. Sorry for those who work in it, I know it's not everybody who is horrible, just seems to be my GPs!!

Jasper, so glad you get to move on, congrats on passing this important stage! So pleased for you

Hope everyone else is OK and morning sickness isn't too bad etc. Jen how're you doing? Any symptoms come back yet? You can have my m/sickness if you like? ;)

I was told that when i meet my midwife that she will sort out my scans so i have left this until I see the midwife on the 10.01.12.

Jewels have you tried haribo Tangfastics, they are helping a treat with my sickness......but not my waistline lol!!

I am feeling soooo tired at the moment, been falling asleep on the sofa when I get home zzzz

Thanks girls, I'm trying not to let him get to me, and I'm not going to worry about the scan til the new year. Would rather wait til I've had my 8 week scan and am feeling more confident that all is well.

Ooh Sasha not long to go now til the long-awaited 12 weeks! Hope it flies by :)

Taffycaz, might try those although I think it will be downhill from there if I find it works as I already like them!!

Thanks for the advice ladies regarding lack of symptoms....I think i was panicing over nothing because the very next day they were back :S so I didnt mention anything at my mw appointment on the 28th. Hunger is in full force and i seem to get sick when im hungry...so i just eat all day. Week 9 is proving a really tiring week already. Feel exhausted but I think i may be coming down with something as im feeling a bit achy and have got a headache :( Anyhow I got my scan date though finally and it's not until 25th Jan :( I will be 12.5 weeks - feels crazy not having any scan or seeing/hearing the HB until 12.5 weeks but hey ho.

Hope everyone had a lovely christmas and are not suffering too much

Jewels - dont worry about what your GP said. When you see the HB the chances of m/c are really reduced. That's exactly why I havent told anyone about this pregnancy yet (except DH and medical ppl of course)....People can be so insensitive . I told everyone about my pregnancy with DD at 5 weeks and had so many insensitive comments that I decided to keep this one to myself - you'd expect a bit more sensitivity from your GP though

Happy NYE everyone - quiet one for me this year :D xxxx

Happy New Year girls!

Am assuming we're all feeling smug with no hangovers today? ;)

I was just impressed I made it to midnight to be honest, it was touch and go at about 10pm, but then I managed to drag myself through my 'tired wall' with the help of some pudding!

Jen, I'm glad your symptoms are back! I'm hungry all the time too, and am eating not very healthy things just in a bid to eat something that doesn't make me feel sick. I can't believe you have to wait so long for a scan, that must be agony. I feel really bad that I have so many, wish I could give you one of mine! We have another one on Tues, 8weeks + 2 days, so am really hopeful that one is OK as I think the chances of m/c drop dramatically after this one. Or so my acupuncturist told me.

TMI warning: I am a little worried, I've started using the pessaries through the 'front door' as I was hoping it might ease the constipation, and i got quite alot of brownish discharge with the pessary discharge. It's not fresh blood by any means but is scary when it's a colour, do you know what I mean? Has this happened to anyone else? As I haven't used any of them that way since embryo transfer I'm just really hoping it's leftover old stuff from the transfer / implantation / lost 2nd embryo, but I am quite worried. So I'm very nervous about Tues' scan... I'm scared something has gone wrong. But until I see fresh blood I'm trying not to think about it, and haven't even mentioned it to my DH, who is already worrying about every symptom or lack of.

anyway, would be great if anyone could let me know if this has happened to them?

Enjoy the rest of the first day of 2012!

xxx

Hi Jewels - Really try not to worry - usually brown blood is old blood. I have no experience with pessaries but with my first pregnancy i had brown spotting at around 8 weeks which was around about the time my second missed period was. I told my GP and he said it was just that and it went away after a few days and everything carried on as normal. It could be old blood from a previous cycle. I havent had it this time round but did kind of expect it. In regards to symptoms i guess i've come to expect that they will fluctuate and vary day to day. I even heard that they can start reducing at 8 weeks as the placenta starts to take over (although its not fully functioning until 12 weeks which is one of the reasons why many get a bit of a break come the second trimester).

Just tried on my work trousers and they dont fit :S So dug out a couple of pairs of maternity ones i had and i look pregnant :S seems bizaare as I didnt start showing with DD until about 18/20 weeks! Gunna have to find some oversized shirts to cover up until the 25th!

Hi girls hope you all had a great new year, i made the most of my last new year and made it out until 5am, think i felt worse than my hubby though and slept most of the day yesterday.

Jewels please don't worry, i used then from egg transfer and they advised i keep using them until 12 weeks (i gave up at 10 weeks)

TMI - i'm not sure everyone is the same but after the first 4 days off using i didn't realise you could get a build up of the stuff, well i saw what i can only descride as a little clump of cream/salmon coloured on my pants, sorry for this but i decided to sit in front of a mirror and to my horror there was a massive clump that looked like cottage cheese stuck inside me. Well i then realised it doesn't come out with just wiping i had to pick it out :O After i realised this happened i checked everyday to have a clear out. Anyway at 10 weeks i was getting realy down about it, i never felt clean, was getting quite a lot of discharge and changing my pants 3 times a day so decided to stop using them and feel so much beter.

I'm now 11 + 4, scan on the 9th Jan can't wait.

HI Everyone.

Happy New Year!

Oh the joy of pessaries. The first time round of using pessaries I used them up the front door. I got a pink bleed, which they told me was probably because a knocked my cervix which is very sensitive when going throug tx and through pregnancy. I also got a build up and ended up with a golf ball size amount coming out whilst going to the loo. I wondered what on earth was going on! Anyway this time I have stuck to the back door as feel it absorbs better and is less messy. I only have to take one a day as I have the prontogest injection as well but once I reach 12 weeks I will stop the injections and take 2 pessaries per day for one week and then one a day for the second week. I can't wait to stop the injections as my bum is so so sore now. I can't sleep properly as it hurts so much and I can't even sit down comfortably. Only 1.5 weeks to go but not sure if I am going to manage. I may have to switch to just taking pessaries, which the con said I could do taking 3 pessaries a day.

Jewels your GP sound light a nightmare. As if you need to be warned about the risk of miscarraige and then to not help booking you a dating scan just because you know your dates. Have you been referred to a midwife? I got referred to a MW who we saw last week. She said that I don't have to have a dating scan as I already know my dates but that I am entitled to it. I'm going to get my scan appt sent through in the post. It can be anything up to 14 weeks and due to the holiday period is likely to be around 14 weeks. I was really hoping to have it sooner - not sure I can wait that long as I start worrying that things have gone wrong!

Well I definitely ate too much over Xmas and new year. I only made it until 10pm new years eve and had to go to bed! We had a really nice time but I feel like I need a holiday now!

Hope everyone is feeling okay.

Thanks for all the advice girls, I have resumed using the cyclogest through the back door and the discharge has slowed down, but not gone completely. I hope it's just old. I am getting period pains though as well so tomorrow's scan can't come quickly enough. I am so tired of worrying about it all, really I just wish I could be as blase as most normal people are. But I feel like tomorrow's a big one, so keep everything crossed for us.

As much as I'm pleased we've got it, it's not really idea doing the 5:30am start on the first day back at work! I'll be knackered by the afternoon!

Dreading going back to work tomorrow. I've managed to cope with the sickness and tiredness by resting and having afternoon sleeps and eating as much as I need to, but I don't know how I will manage at work.

Well I mustn't moan, I know there are lots of girls on FZ who would kill for this problem. I do feel selfish for moaning sometimes, but am glad there's this thread where at least I know I won't be making others mad.

Good luck all those back for the 1st day tomorrow!

Hi all,
I've only got two pessaries left and can't wait to be rid of them! Going for our last scan at the clinic tomorrow before I'm officially handed over to the regular NHS. Starting to feel a bit nervous now. No reason to think anything is wrong, I'm just a worrier! Biggest problem at them moment is the size of my tummy! Back to work tomorrow (children back on Wed) and I have no idea how I'm going to hide it. According to my book it is distended bowls which are visible due to weak tummy muscles. Not sure the kids would like that explanation! I've been living in my maternity jeans. Bought some tops in the Next sale but two of them are rather tight already so will have to go back. Will have to go and buy some maternity work trousers tomorrow afternoon, not been anywhere with the right sort of shops all holiday.
Had a lovely time in the lakes despite the rain. Spent a lot of time chilling whilst the others went out on walks. Scared to go too far in case I had one of my dizzy turns. Went gooey over tiny wellies in the walking shops!
Will hopefully have a super photo for you tomorrow. Hoping it looks more like a baby and less like a clothes peg (my mum's description) this time!
Good luck tomorrow Jewels xx

Bummer Sasha, sadly I think the only thing we can take is paracetomol! Which isn't much use really for a cold. Maybe Lemsip or something like that? But not sure as it might have ibuprofen in it, so check first.

Whiteangel how did your scan go? Hope it was all good and we can see a lovely picture! How nice to be discharged :) And no more pesky pessaries! I hate them!! But not as much as I hate my injections ;)

Shelly I'm sorry you're not sleeping well, I'm not having that problem, but I wake up too early that's all, and then am knackered. Have you tried Bach's rescue remedy, Night version? I think it's safe during pregnancy and helps me alot when I hqave trouble sleeping. I have found if I nap during the day that I struggle to sleep. Are you still on track for your scan tomorrow?

I am so tired :tired: today at work, feel like I could sleep zzzz for a week, I also feel that my stomach is really bloated today and I really look like I am pregnant......good job I have the leggings and baggy jumper on. A member of staff said that I look bigger today and that maybe I am further on than I think, (she knows I am pregnant but does not know that I have had IVF) lol well i know that I am not so is my stomach swollen from the pessaries or I have just put on loads of weight over Xmas. Been trying to suck it in all day lol.

Whiteangel I hope your scan went ok!!! I was told that I would have toake the pessaruies up unitl 12 weeks ...great

Shelly my sleep pattern has been crap over the last couple of weeks and I have been waking durring the night for the loo and tossing and turning. I think I get my best sleep on the sofa after work....well I look forward to this one the most!!

You can take paracetamol but unfortunately not Lemsip or Beechams type stuff as it has a decongestant in it which is contraindicated in pregnancy.

I make a big spoonful of runny honey with the juice of half a small lemon in hot water and have paracetamol with it. Both myself and my little girl had this last week when we both had coughs and sore throats. The honey soothes your throat and keeps your blood sugar up if you don't feel like eating. The lemon has vitamin C, the hot water steams your nose and throat and keeping hydrated is really important... so it's more effective than it sounds :)

(Hot Ribena's comforting too!)

Hi, sorry about the delay, back to work! Everyone was making a fuss over my tummy yesterday, was dreading hiding my podge from the children today but found a top that did the trick. Not sure I can wear the same top until the end of Jan. May have to give in and tell them but would rather wait for 12 week scan to know things are ok. At the moment it looks like it has a beak which I'm sure isn't a usual part of development! I was rather worried as I'm only measuring 8w+5 rather than 9+4 but the nurses and a doctor who came to have a look weren't worried at all. We saw movement and a clear heartbeat and so they said 7 days either way is fine at this stage. Looking forward to the next one when we'll be able to see even more. Can't believe the change in just two weeks! Hope you feel better soon Sasha. I do seem to have been sleeping more lightly than usual. I wake up from time to time with my head buzzing, just too much going on I think. First day back with the children today and I could easily go to bed now! Hope everyone is safe and cosy out of the wind xx

Hi Ladies

Hope, sorry I don't know anything about swollen and twisted ovaries. Is the clinnic able to help?

Taffy, Jewels - nice idea about the baby show, will make a nice change from things like the fertility show. I think swollen tummy must be due to the progesterone, whether it be the pessaries or injections. I've had a bloated tummy and feel like I'm going to pop sometimes! I've stopped my prontogest injections now and upped my cyclogest pessaries to 3 a day instead, so hope I'm not going to bloat even more!!

I think not being able to sleep is just because we all have so much going through our minds. It's such a mad time, actually finally being pregnant and trying to get through each week staying sane.

Nice scan pic Whiteangel and good that you got the reassurance from the nurse and doctor.

Sasha, hope you don't end up with a full blown cold.

AFM, I went up to see my con today about some immune test results. I had to go on an IVIG drip to try to get some of my immune levels down and will have to go up again in a couple of weeks time to be retested. He wanted to scan me first before doing the drip, which I was really happy about as a scan is always reassuring. Everything looked fine except for a small pool of blood. He said that if it was on the other side he would be very concerned but where it is shouldn't cause a problem. I may spot or it my disperse itself. If I do start spotting then I need to rest. He said that I need to be taking it easy which I have been and maybe that's why I haven't spotted yet. It's obviously worrying but at least I know in advance that I may spot. Everything else on the scan looked fine and the baby measured at 11 weeks. Heartbeat looked good. The baby measured 4.11cm. It filled the whole black area on the scan - amazing how quickly they grow.

Anyway being extra cautious (if that's possible), hoping that I don't spot.

Hi girls hope you are all well.

Thankfully a couple of oranges seem to have done the trick.

Well i was 12 weeks yesterday and have scan on Mon woohoo.

Jewels hope you have a great time at baby show when it comes, i'm in Scotland so will be looking for one soon.

I def have a podge now but you still wouldn't notice in my clothes, still no weight gain which i'm a bit worried about.

Hope my ovaries were massive and very uncomfortable, i had a scan at 7 weeks which i found painful, when i asked why this was they said my ovaries hadn't gone back to normal yet but thankfully it did get better, i think if you had a lot of eggs this can happen, hope you feel better soon.

Take care

Congrats Sasha!! 12 weeks, big hurdle passed :) Hope your scan on Mon is brilliant and you can see your little one clearly! Don't worry Sasha, I don't think you're supposed to gain anything in the first trimester. Many girls in fact lose weight. I weighed myself this morning and am the same as I was before my BFP, it's obviously just a swollen tummy from the cyclogest etc... Bummer, I'd love to have a bump! But I guess we must be patient. Ha ha, not very good at that!

Hope I hope you're feeling a bit better today and are taking it easy? No advice really, sorry.

Hope everyone else is well and wishing you all a stress-free weekend :)
