Hi ladies, I hope you're all doing well
Mim pls try not to worry, I received my doppler (sonoline too) at 9 weeks. My consultant warned me not to use it as I would not pick the h/b up. Also at the time I was visiting my friend at the hospital who was having her baby and the midwives there told me that its a bad idea as I would not be able to interpret what I heard cz im not trained to. Well, Im happy to say that I ignored them both. I used it at exactly 9 weeks but I only picked up my own h/b but I didnt know that it was mine. After two days I accidentally picked up a much stronger and faster h/b which i now know its my LO's!!! My only suggestion is that u try and find it in the morning. For some reason I find mine's very easy in the mornings but if i try later in the day or evening i cant... When you find it once it ll be easier the next time as you ll know where to look.

Hugs and kisses xxxxx

10 weeks is still very early mim, I'm sure with a bit of practice you'll be able to find your precious ones heartbeat in the next week or 2 :)
I ordered an angel sounds one this morning, don't think I'll give it a go til after 12weeks, I'll probably be the same as you worried sick if I can't find it ;)
I'm sure all is perfectly fine though :D xx

Hello everyone, glad to see you are all doing well. smile2

The Doppler sounds a good idea for most but I think I will give it a miss as I know it will become another thing for me to worry and obsess about. I have just about managed to get my anxieties under control so I think I will play safe for now. :cheese: Who knows in the future.

My first scan is tomorrow at 10.30 !! I am in a state of nervous excitement. Can't believe its finally here. DH has taken time off work to go with me. We still haven't told any of the family but plan to start with his tomorrow, all being well.

Heres hoping I can sleep tonight. Take care everyone blowkiss

Thanks Cheenab, Poppy and Mim for the words of encouragement. Unbelievable how nervous I was.

All went well, one wee baba seen, moving about nicely, heartbeat seen, and he or she even managed to wave :hugs:

Totally amazing! We are over the moon. Told my Mum and sister today and off to see his family tonight. It has all become real at last.

Good luck tomorrow Mim.

I think I found the heartbeat :D it definetly wasn't mine as I listened to that first so I could compare!! This one sort of sounded like a train chugging along, does that sound right? It was just above my pubic line to the right abit.. Was listening to it for a couple of mins then moved the things, then couldn't find it again!! :snigger: Typical!! Hope I was listening to the right thing ;)

Im with you Kay. Sorry you are suffering too. Im afraid the only advice i have is to keep eating through it. You may not feel like eating but it does help sometimes- not always though. My sickness is bad today, i have been vomitting on and off all day :-( Good luck for your scan. x

Sorry to hear you are so sick Kay Wall.

I'm not vomiting like Poppy, poor thing, but I do have nausea most of the day, especially in the evenings. It just seems to hit people in different ways. Try not to worry about it too much.

As Poppy said, it is best to try and make yourself eat at mealtimes as it can sometimes help to make the nausea pass. Being hungry just seemed to make my nausea worse. It is the strangest feeling being hungry and nauseated at the same time.

It is supposed to ease as the weeks go on and pass in most ladies by about weeks 12-14! Not much consolation to you now I suppose. But try to take it easy and drink plenty of fluids.

And :congrats: by the way.

Luv Mols [zx189]

Well, ive had an eventfull few days! By Thursday eve i couldnt even hold down water the sickness was so bad and i was admitted to hospital. Ive been diagnosed with hyperemisis which could pass or could last the whole pregnancy, fingers crossed it doesnt! Ive been on a drip and im home now and feeling abit better. I had a scan and baby is just perfect. Cant believe that at just 10+3 we could see everything. Baby was waving its arms and legs and has a very strong heartbeat. The nurses said there is no reason why we shouldnt tell people now. She said people only wait till 12 weeks because thats when they have a scan and see that everything is ok, but i still feel very nervous about telling people. Just so happy that baby is great even though i feel so awful. Love to everyone. xxxx

Poppy I hope you are feeling better, what a nightmare, you are having a rough time with the sickness! I hope it passes for you.

But what great news on the scan. Wonderful news. We told all our family an friends after our 10+2 scan, as all looked well and it felt real at last, but you will know what is best for you both.

Take care.

Hello again ladies, long time no speak.

I haven't had the nerve to post on here since the very start - freaked myself out with the possibility that something might go wrong. Daft, eh?

It's been a nervous wait and after our miscarriage first time round DH and I didn't want to jinx everything by getting our hopes up.

So, yesterday we had the 12 week scan and now feel much more relaxed about the pregnancy. Well, I say relaxed......... After having ONE frozen embryo replaced and ONE heartbeat found at the 7 week scan, we have just discovered that we're having TWINS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything's fine with them but twins?????? We're in total shock and can't quite understand how one embryo has done this!

Anyway, good luck to all you other lovely ladies and I hope eveything goes ok for you all.

Shell - thanks for the congrats! Totally floored us when the sonographer said there's two in there!! :faint:

If you're off to the second trimester should I be there too? Do you start the second trimester when it's the start of the 12th week or the end?

Mim - Thank you too for the congrats! And yep, they're identical. DH is letting the clinic know as they discharged us at 7 weeks and he's speaking to our consultant this pm - I'm dying to know what his reaction is!!

How are things with you? Is everything ok with your little one?

Welcome Curlytails and many many congratulations on your BFP - so happy for you! :D

Poppy - thank you! I'll be milking this for all it's worth with DH! :snigger: Especially as he kept telling me I wasn't eating well and putting on too much weight!! Admittedly, I have put on way too much weight but the reason for the big tummy isn't from eating lots of cake!!

Kelpie- wish i had another excuse for my big tummy! :snigger: Mine is because at first i was too scared to exercise and then got hyperemisis so havent felt like doing anything. Am back to vomitting just a few times a day now instead of allday and night so maybe i should start getting back to normal and start some gentle excersise!!!

Welcome curlytails. xx

I will be 12 weeks on Monday but not sure when i should move to second tri?

Aw Poppy, you've certainly had a tough time. Luckily I got bad nausea but never as far as vomitting.

Hope things continue to get better especially as you'll soon be 12 weeks - they say things ease off from then.

I'll be 13 weeks on Monday so I think I should move soon. Maybe I should be there now?

Mim, I was using the IVF dates and the MW had me down as 6 days behind. My scan yesterday showed the IVF dates were right and matched the measurements.

I was going by IVF dates and then my 10 week scan confirmed that date. At 10+3 weeks baby was 38mm.

I think second trimester starts at the start of week 13.

Have a good weekend girls. xxxx

Hi girls i am very happy for all of you with bfps yay isnt it the greatest warm feeling ever enjoy it and welcome here ,i still feel the need to stick around,i had quite an eventfull time again so will copy/ paste the latest two updates

Update 1
I am writing a quick update from a hospital bed. i had my scan this morning, our cheeky monkey is perfect and measured spot on 58mm + the nt measured 15mm which is normal so hold thumbs no down syndrome, cheeky monkey took total of four scans today because it would not lay flat but on his head, baby has his nasal bone visible so it was all good, till i got home and at 2-3 pm i was in agony in my right side,i came the day before to a and e for the same pain but was sent home, this time i was admitted to hospital, they think it maybe my huge cysts leaking or apendix or my kidneys,so i was given codein, paracetamol and now morphine as i am in severe pain,i am so worried about baby after all this meds, they say it should be fine.I will be having a scan in the morning and hold thumbs i wont need surgery. I just wanted for a change a normal day, just happy news and like other normal people, but no i have to have murphy play his laws on me.please keep us in your thoughts, i trully hope and pray baby does well.

Second update from my diary

Hospital update little munchicken is doing well performed for the scan,i was relieved, the cyst is now pushing on my womb and the Doctor thinks this cysts thinks that is the one that produces hormones for baby, he is not keen on touching it if possible till week 17 but its gone by than. He thinks mt ovary may have twisted yesterday especially because my tummy was shaken so much at the scan to position baby and the size of my right ovary is huge, but he thinks it make have untwisted today, they cant tell from the scan just from my agony last night.so nothing serious comes up,i kept asking about the morphine, he said that in situations like this he believes baby was in pain too so painkiller was recommended.now waiting to see whats next, thanks a million girls for all the support

Hi everyone

Sorry I've not updated in a while.

Mim - you poor thing! So very sorry to hear about your pain and you are in hospital. Hope you are ok.

Looks like a few of us are close to moving to second trimester. I can't believe it! Really didn't think I would make it. Still having quite a lot of bleeding episodes. Seem to have them 2 out of every three weeks. Have my scan tomorrow. Not sleeping well this week. Not worried about the scan but am obviously anxious. Have got a rapidly expanding tummy which I think is SO noticeable. It grows big by the end of each day. Am looking forward to tomorrow when I can tell people T work and stop holding a notebook in front of my tummy :snigger: Am sure will be getting a lot of "I knew it" comments.

xfingers For tomorrow and anyone else coming up to their 12 week scan.

Oh Mim, Im so sorry to hear you are having a bad time again. I hope that you are feeing more comfortable. I know its hard but try not to worry about the meds- the doctors know what they are doing and its more than its worth to put your baby in danger. Its important to get you out of pain. Take care hun. xxxx

Good luck Devchick. xx My scan is Friday.
