Baby Weight

I haven't asked my doc or m/w this yet but what weight would you reckon Junior would be now? I've read anything from 1.5lb to 2lb! The length varies from book to book....

Hi Jenny, mines suppose dto be around 3lb by now I think so yours will be a little bigger. I think the reason for the differences is because all babies develop differently so its difficult to be accurate. Why do you ask?

Because now shes going to sit and worry herslef whether baby will be too big/ too small!!! ;) Only joking Jen!! Anyhting form 1 1/2 -3lb is normal at this stage as babies don't lay down fat until the very final weeks hunny :))

If you have another scan lined up they can usually tell, although they told me Lolly weighed 5 1/2 lb at 30 weeks and could be quite a big baby  :D

Just wondered - I like to read up on how babs is progressing and each book says something different. So I'm going on the idea of Junior being about 1.5lb-3lb then. Wow, 3lb! Seems a lot for a 28 weeker - how much weight do they put on per week/month then?

Again it varies Jen. The bulk of the weight goes on in the final few weeks though.
My ds weighed 3pound 6oz at 30 weeks if thats any help.

Update for me:

I got on my mums scales on Sunday afternoon (fully clothed, with my boots on) and I'm 10st 8lb, which means I've put on 5lb :D I'm really pleased because my belly looks quite bloated.

How's everyone else doing on the weight front?

Hi Giggles

So far I have put on 10lb, which is a bit scary as last week I had only put on 7lb, however, I have suddenly gone huge so I'm not too surprised.

I have been complaining all weekend of how fat and huge I am to dh, as I have been wishing so hard for my bump to appear, now it's well and truely here I am in shock!!

But you've got two in there lulu so any weight gain there is more than acceptable!

giggles - i am putting it on - although it is going on slowly. I'm sure it'll speed up in a couple of weeks though! I'll be like a walking barrell by christmas!
