Fi's in labour!!

Just had to tell someone!! Fiona went into hosp at 9.30 this evening having good contractions every 2 mins. I was with her at home all day today trying to keep her mind off her itch - she developed pregnancy related rash which started on her belly last week, and by Sat had spread to everywhere except her face. She was started on piriton, but that didn't help, so she was back up at hosp yesterday and got steroid cream, which by this afternoon had begun to help. She hasn't been able to sleep for more than 30 mins to an hour at a time - sitting in the bath during the night, and in between holding her hands and feet in bowls of tepid water. She told me at 4pm that she'd been having short contractions every 3-4 mins all day. I stayed until her dh got home from work at 6.30. by which time the conts. were every 3mins, stronger and lasting longer, She was coping really well, so I came home. Rich phoned at 9.30 to say they were heading off. Fi was using her TENS. He's going to let me know what's happening once she's been examined. She was booked in for induction tomorrow, so I'm really glad she's started on her own. I just hope Taddy's head has moved down now.
