Hi all,

Christine, sorry to hear about your flights, im sure you will be able to get a refund and hopefully rebook. Your baby is a good size :D i wasnt told current weight at my 34 week scan, just said her tummy measurement was on 50th percentile, not sure how that relates to her weight ?(

Poor Vanessa, that baby must be so comfy, hope shes not too frustrated, seems to be a lot of delays for some people due to such busy hospitals - im getting worried now.

rightans, glad your getting some rest.

hope everyone else is well.

AFM, im in a bad mood as i have a cold and im all sore throat, coughing and snotty :cross: so so annoyed as i hate being ill and i have so much work to get done before i finish, went home at lunchtime yesterday but have a meeting til 7 tonight then an antenatal class so going to be a long day. Also have the car in for a service so worried in case it needs anything done, hopefully not as just got it in march but we do clock up mileage esp this year with the IVF clinic being a 6 hour round trip away and lots of trips to Glasgow to see the folks.

LO is having a quiet day, still always worries me

Morning everyone,

Wow, 3 days of induction. Thats a long wait.

I went to see midwife this morning, got all checked and had more bloods done. Also had my belly measured again and she said the baby was growing well and was big. On the chart thing she's nearly on the top line!

Also spoke to her about home birth and she told me to start upping my iron as they like levels to be over 10.5 so hopefully I'll get them up there.

I am so tired today. Just couldn't sleep at all. I've got dark rings around my eyes and I've still got the house to clean ready for Christmas decorations going up tomorrow

I hope everyone is well and having lots of snow!! :snowangel:

Oh poor Vanessa, she must be crawling the walls in there.

Christine, sorry about your flights but as the others have said you should get your money back so hopefully you should still be able to go with someone else xxx

Oh dear Wee Janey, you've probably got cold because you've been so busy. Hope you get the chance to relax at the weekend and get plenty of sleep and fluids xx Quiet days still worry me as well, I think its normal to worry xx

Glad all went well at MW Flic, so your having a big one as well, i've heard that its supposed to be easier (gravity and all that!!). My MW thinks around 7/7.5 pounds for me.

I'm starting to get a bit narky now, is it normal to be sick of being pregnant??? I feel guilty for feeling like this, especially as it took so long to get pregnant in the first place but i'm so tired of being tired and uncomfortable and I just want to meet 'her' now. Sorry shouldnt moan.

Hope everyones well xxx

Cheryl - I hope you're right, I'm papping myself now!! The midwife hasn't given me a weight yet but I'll ask her when I'm back there again! I'll make sure I do lots of walking around and standing up to help her along!!

Hiyaaaaaaaaaaaa

aww congrats Lisa thats ace news another big baba!

Janey, Inverness turned us away when we phoned to say we were coming but the next day our consultant got angry and told us to go and he would phone *again* as we should have gone down the night before - when we arrived they were lovely to us as I was worried they would send me off to a hotel!

Fingers crossed for Vanessa

Christine thats such a shame about your flight - that happened to us when the other airline went bust and every other airline put their prices up and we ended up paying three times more for our flights but we did get our money back as we paid by cc.. hope you get it sorted. I feel really sorry for all those people who should be somewhere else over the festive period what a nightmare.!

Once again Congratulations Vanessa. Another addition to big babies we have had recently.

Cheryl, I dont blame you as I understand, I am only 37 weeks plus and getting uncomfortable. Have had lot of pressure today but I think it is all due to gas. Feel better now.

How are you all ladies today? Hope all enjoying the snow.

Jane hope the cold is better today.

hows everyone doing today?

Rightans - when you say getting pressure, what do you mean? just trying to understand all the symptoms as i have never had a BH or any kind of twinges (unless you count getting booted in the ribs)

Everyone seems to have snow apart from us - well we have a very like sprinkling but nothing much.

reading about all these big babies is starting to make me nervous, my 34 week scan showed tummy size on 50th percentile but not sure how that relates to weight (and my bump is measuring about 3 - 4 cm small), but dont think either measurements is very accurate.

Still feeling rubbish and going through loads of hankies, hopefully will be better in a few days, still at work though as im not goood at taking sick days (even when i need them but have always been that way).

Cant believe i have 4 weeks to go til im due, keep getting hassled about xmas this year as im not very festive - thats cause i just want it over with so i can have my baby :snigger: (brain keeps thinking xmas then baby)

Happy 36 weeks Jane. Do take it easy honey?

By pressure I meant, as if I need a poo. Whole bump felt very heavy and uncomfortable. I think I am just gassy as have vomited all my lunch out now. Sad as I had put such an effort in making it.

BH is another uncomfortable feeling in the bump, uterus hardens up for a minute or less. Its not painful. but definitely uncomfortable.

Jane dont worry I never really had any BH either and in fact when I was contracting it still didnt feel like a tightening to me just bloomin pain :snigger:

I did have the pressure feeling though and got progressively worse til day before I was induced I could hardly walk but I didnt engage til labour so not sure if pressure has anything to do with head being engaged.

Jane I hope your managing to get some time to rest, just reading about your day makes me knackered :snigger: Not too long to go no though

hi everyone - just popped in to see if any more baby news!

38 weeks today! I saw the doc on thursday for my check-up. All absolutely normal. Head only a tiny bit engaged though - not quite 4/5ths. GP agreed with me that it will be a post-Xmas baby. Have to say that apart from carpal tunnel and itchy skin I'm not actually uncomfortable. Still walking about at a fair pace, can get comfy in bed and not feeling any pressure (apart from what I think is a shoulder pressing on my bladdfer every now and then!). No BH either. No idea how big my baby is as haven't had a scan since 20 weeks. At that point it hit the 95th percentile for a few measurements with the femur length being over that. Since they started measureing it my fundal height has always been about 1cm more than I am in weeks. I reckon it'll be a little bit above average but not much. Mum thinks I have a big bump, but I'm only 5' 2" so I think it is an optical illusion! Also, my bump is high and all to the front rather than being spread around the sides. So excited to find out if it is a boy or a girl.

Went shopping today and mum insisted on buying something for the baby - I really don't need anything so let her buy a deluxe baby bath from mamas and papas....although I would have been perfectly happy with a new washing up bowl for that job!

hope you are all enjoying your weekends xxx

Congratulations Lisa and Vanessa on your wee bundles of joy! What brilliant news to log-in to after over a week offline.

Happy 29 weeks Flic, nice to see you here on 3rd tri!

Dooey, love your profile pic, Blair is just gorgeous :D

I can't believe how quick the time is going just now, and I get even more of a fright coming on here and seeing everyone's tickers. Cheryl, I know how you feel - I'm getting really uncomfortable now and just can't wait for this little one to come out - but at the same time I know I'll miss being pregnant. I think we're going to make it through Christmas, but have a feeling he might be here by New Year. I've had loads of BH every day for about a week - does that mean anything?

Jen, my LO's been 4/5s for the last 3 weeks, but the obstetrician I saw last week said that doesn't mean anything and the baby could still arrive any time.

How long left to work now Jane? Hope you get finished up soon and get to put your feet up. I'm so glad to be finished now, couldn't have worked another day!

I've got a friend staying this weekend, so I better go and be sociable - get a bit of Singstar on I think, and I'll try to stay up till midnight ;) Hope you all have a lovely rest of the weekend xxx

Goodluck for section LIsajp.
No news from Sacha as yet?
Well the pressure and discomfort I was having the other day turned out to be all due to gas. I was well the next day. Got to go for hospital appt tomorrow but the snow hasn't melted as yet and it is so icy outside. I guess I will play it safe and take a Taxi.

We got home on Friday evening with her and are jsut trying to settle her into her new home.

I wasn't able to let Pammy know any more information than I did - ie about the birth itself. I will post all about it in my diary soon - lots to tell. Vanessa - I can sympathise with you after your long haul, just put it that way.

Hi Everyone see it is very quiet on here today. I'm stuck at home with my feet up as DH is working till midnight tonight and I'm not going out at that time to collect him, so he has the car. It's been doing a wee bit more snowing but not too much and I hope it doesn't. I have managed to get new flights to Cyprus and I want to thank you all for your support I was just so upset the other day. We have contacted credit card company and we have written to them and now are awaiting them contacting us re refund. We are now going a week later but hope that it won't be too hot. At least my dad will meet the lo.
Hope that you are all well and are ready for Christmas.

Hi lasses,

It has been quiet on here lately! We've had quite a lot of snow up here, but it seems to be thawing at the moment and turning to slush. I'm meant to take the car to town tomorrow for an MOT so we'll just have to see what tonight brings. Town in 2 ferries and and hour of driving away, so it's quite a thought!!!

I've finally got around to cleaning the bathroom and tidying our room. I'm certainly not in the nesting stage yet, it was quite an effort to get going. But now it's done, it does look great all sparkling!

I'm getting used to getting looks at my belly and folk saying, "not long now" or "what size are you going to be by the end of Jan"!
Hope everyone's having a good day.

Hello everyone,

So pleased you managed to get new flights Christine. And great that the credit card company is sorting out your refund.

Clarabelle - I had a cleaning day the other day. I totally gutted everything, and now it looks like I never even touched it!!

AFM - I've been feeling down the last few days. I think its a mixture of hormones and missing my Dad (he died 5 years ago on 2nd Dec) so I think I just feel a bit sad that he's not going to see LO or that LO won't know him and stuff. Plus I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by the thought that I am actually going to have a baby. Is this normal??

Sorry you're feeling down Flic, must be a sad time for you - but you're doing the right thing focusing on LO! I do understand the overwhelming feeling though. My DH is offshore for Xmas and back the 29th and then is home for 8 weeks - I just can't believe once he's back he'll be home until the baby's here. I keep panicking I don't have anything ready. I haven't packed a bag, got ANY baby clothes. My sis had a baby 2 weeks ago so I am hoping to get all her newborn stuff, but still....!

Flic sorry that your feeling down. I think it is normal to feel sad that a loved one will not see your lo. I have these feelings about my Grandma. She passed away 2 1/2 years ago and I still miss her. We were very close and I get upset that she will not see/meet my lo, then I think that she will see my lo but from heaven. I feel as though she will be looking down on my lo and looking out for it. This has helped me come to terms with it. I hope that you can feel more positive and look forward to your lo. Clarabelle sorry that your DH is off shore over Christmas but as you say once he is back it will be nearly time for you to meet your lo. I think you should get your bag ready and even just get a few baby clothes. I have got my bag ready and I have put a couple of sleepsuits for the lo in although wether they fit will be anybody's guess. Still to get some nursing bra's but will do that after Christmas and New Year.

Morning all,

Sorry not been on for a few days, still ill with this horrid cold and its gone into my chest now so i sounds lovely (think everyone at work is avoiding me for fear of getting ill :snigger: )

chrsitine, Dont worry too much about nursing bras as i was told not to get measured until 37 - 40 weeks (i hate being that unorganised).glad you got flights sorted ok, hassle you could really do without im sure. Cant believe you dont have much stuff, mind you we have been given so many clothes its unreal, dont know where to put them all.

Flic, sorry your feeling down, it can be hard at xmas and all the extra hormones wont help at all. Take care and hope you feeling better soon.

Clarabelle, Good luck with your MOT today, thats a long way to go to town, sorry your DH is away over the hols but hopefully you will be kept busy that it seems like no time at all til hes back.

Rightans, sorry your discomfort was just gas, you must have been getting excited as well.

AFM, well we finally got a xmas tree last night and put it up and did some last min shopping (although still need to get DH a card). Still need to get the last pressies wrapped and the house tidied up, still today is my second last day at work woohoo. Still loads of movement and DH says he bored waiting to meet the LO and wants her to come very soon.

looks like i will have my brother for xmas as well as my mum, got a text yesterday to ask if he could come as he had an arguement with his girlfriend (they were supposed to be going to the US and getting married), so no idea whats happened there (he lives in Spain so not easy to call up and see how he is). So need to find out when hes arriving and organise getting something to sleep on as mum has the spare room and the sofa bed is gone as the study is now a nursery - oh the joys of family.

Morning,

Was just posting in another thread and noticed on my ticker I onlyu have 10 days left til due date... cue nervous laughter! It seems unreal to me still and every so often I get a nudge back into the real world before sticking my head firmly back below ground.

Been having lots of twinges and a few Braxton Hicks- nothing too painful. Friday was my last day at work- and also our Xmas Lunch. I think I ate too much as was having terrible pains- just like trapped wind- all around bump. Real squeezing feeling and LO kept wiggling and pushing around. Was doing quite well to keep smiling through it until people noticed how flushed I looked and that I couldn't actually hold the smile on my face. Then I had 5 women fussing around me telling me it sounded like the start of labour! evil2 Much as I knew it couldn't possibly be I did start to feel a bit excited... and actually quite hard that I was sitting in an office full of people making such little fuss when I was about to give birth any second!!!

Well, was it labour... was it bollocks!!! Went home- straight to bed, had a bit of a doze. Got an impressive bout of 'the runs' and felt better!!! Saw the MW that afternoon and LO not even engaged yet!

I will no longer listen to other women! Honestly they're all as bad as each other. Just like the women who say 'Oh, you're definately having a girl, you are carring out front' and 'Oh, it's a boy, you're all bump and high up'. For goodness sake, I'm having a baby... as long as it's healthy and happy that's all we worry about!

Oh dear. I'm not really as grumpy as I sound... :chortle:

:scream: My post last night has disappeared.

I got a couple of nursing bra's the other day, wow they are attractive lmao . Cant believe the size of them either, pre-pregnancy I was only an A Cup and my nursing bras are a D Cup, DP was very happy although he didnt look too impressed when I told him that they could end up smaller afterwards lol.

Flic, sorry you're down hun, its sad when close family isnt around anymore for such a huge stage in your life, keep smiling xx

Christine glad you managed to get your flights sorted xx

Wow Clarabelle, thats one hell of a journey for an MOT, i'm so used to living in a major city I couldnt imagine having to make such a trip, especially pregnant but I guess you'll be used to it x

Sorry you're still not feeling great Wee Janey, i'm sure once you've finished work it'll clear up, its probably because you've been pushing yourself too much. Shame about your brother cancelling his wedding, hope he manages to get things sorted.

Well its my due date today and no signs humph , supposed to have a sweep on Thursday but think i'm gonna refuse :scared: as dont want to have my little one on xmas day if I can help it.

Have a funny pain on my bump, it only hurts when I move or when baby moves in that area, its not particularly painful but its there if you know what I mean and when I press it, its not tender inside. Cant work out what it is and dont know whether to bother my midwife or wait until I see her on Thursday!!

Hope everyones well xxx

hi everyone! sorry, haven't been around much in last few days as parents are here. Will try and catch up with news later....though doesn't look like there have been any more babies yet!

Janey - so pleased you are nearly finished work as I fear you ahve been overdoing things....now when you get home promise me you aren't going to be running around after your mum and brother but that it will be the other way around!

no news here. No twinges, no BH, just an ever growing bump. Baby clearly not bothered about seeing the real world and can't really blame it given the state of the country at the moment. Can't imagine it arriving until 2010. First of our NCT class couples had their baby at the weekend in an incredible 5 hour labour. And they were the ones whose due date was last out of all of us on Jan 6th!
Very jealous as just want that part over with now.

lovely pretty snow outside but also means icy icy paths here in suburbia so feeling a bit housebound!

Goodmorning Ladies.

Cheryl Happy due date. Agree with you on sweep bit but hopefully you will have you LO before that. I have a painful area on my Bump too. Its tender too but I asked the doc yesterday, she said it is probably baby kicking there.

Jen good to know you are busy with your parents. My mum is here too so I know what you mean. Its the same here with snow here. Big ice rink. Had been going on long walks with Mum but can't any more.

Hi Dilly, I had the same thing with trapped wind last Friday and was getting excited. But nothing happening as yet.

Janey, sorry to hear the cold is still there. Agree with Jen take it easy this Christmas.

Hello to Flic, Christine and Clarabelle.

My appointment yesterday went well. Baby is 2/5th engaged now but doc said that doesnt mean the baby will be early. I will have a section if a go overdue. So that is booked. I am no longer on Clexane so epidural should not be a problem.

Lisajp Goodluck for your section today.

Hi all,

Cheryl happy 40 weeks. i hope you get your wish of not having the baby on xmas day. im curious what cup size i will be when go to get nursing bras next week but thinking not much difference.

Rightans - glad to hear your LO is starting to engage, i have also been told its not a sign of labour so not to get too excited :riv2: is annoying though when we are all so excited to meet our LOs.

Jensqui, im the same as you with no twinges or BHs, just cant wait to get something. Thats a fast labour for the couple from your class, guess we can all only wish for that

Dilly, 10 days til your due date how exciting, dont think its sunk in for me yet either.

I am looking forward to relaxing when start mat leave, i know i work too much but i guess thats just the job i do, and feel i need to work harder i guess as will soon have a baby as well as a husband to support. Doubt i will let my mum do everything over xmas though as she makes a big deal about wanting to help but when moans and groans with pain noises with every movement so i end up feeling guilty and telling her to sit down (tbh i think she seriously exaggerates as has amazing recoveries when she wants to - im expecting the next one when LO is born, goodness im cynical).

just wish i knew what was happening with my brother as still not heard anything from him again, may text later, so hoping they sort things out soon as know he would love to settle down himself (hes 38 now)

Anyway, im off to the canteen for lunch and to stock up on cheap products at the works shop, speak later

Hi Ladies,

all is well in my world lol

1 day left at work for me and i'm off for about 10 months, can't wait!

My bump has dropped a bit,it's quite neat and all at the front. Been having some crampy pains and back pain. Have MW tomorrow hoping she will tell me baby has started to engage!

I'm all organised for Christmas, presents all delivered etc,Hubby is off over Christmas and New Year too so that will be nice to have some free time together before LO arrives, will be weird when he goes back to work in January and i don't.

Off to Tesco now,was snowing heavily over night here so hoping roads and pavements are not too slippy as it's freezing outside.

Hello ladies!

I am feeling a bit better thanks. Pleased that its not just me being daft.

I am getting loads and loads of movement now, especially when I sit down or I'm in bed. Literally most of the night! I'm shattered! Gonna clean the house again tomorrow ready for Christmas.

Think I'm going to bed soon.

Hope everyone has had a good day!

IM BACK !!!!

WITH 2 BABY BOYS !!!

Lenni weighed 6.13

Jude weighed 6.11.5

Lenni had 2 and jude had one, Lenni still has one as its very strong but the othere they had to pull out incase he swallowed them.

they are doing fantastic they look nothing alike at all its like the film twins !!

they are feeding every 4 hours and very very good for mummy and daddy.

Hi everybody hope you are all well and safe in all this snow. Was at the mw this am and all appears to be going well. LO measuring a week more than it should but not any problem there. BP was fine and urine remains clear. I have to go back in two weeks and if I have any problems before then I have to phone the labour ward. With all the snow we had yesterday it made it difficult to get out of the street this am but we did manage it, just. The roads seem to be getting better as the day goes along. Going to pick DH up from work early as he has a part day and then we will go for something to eat for a change.
Hope that you all have a good day.

Christine xx

Congrats Sacha, fantastic weights too. Hope you're all doing well.

I saw Dr this morning (we alternate between MW and Dr up here!). He said that everything was good, I am measuring the right size and no protein/sugar in urine, BP still good too. So can relax and enjoy the festivities to come.

In case I don't get on again in the next few days (heading to folks 2mrw and don't want to be rude and sit on the computer!!) - :xmas7: Merry Christmas and hope you all get great pressies.
