Finally they have said YES!!!!

Good afternoon everyone...

I think this is the new place for me.

For those who don't know my story i have TTC naturally for 3 1/2 years and have been on clomid for another 96 months on top of that.. All with no success.
DH and i have taken a break fro the last 6 months and have finally decided to a our new doc and get the ball rolling again.

Much to my excitment they have told me that we are not going to have to do anither round of clomid and that they would move streight to IVF or IUI treatment.

Now i have done a heck of a lot of reading but books can only tell you so much. So i was wondering as there are a fare few that are in my boat or slightly ahead of me could yyou please help by sharing what has happened and your experiances with me...

We go in for our first consult tomorrow the 18th of sept at 1pm and i think it is just a meet and great.

What happends after that. has anyone been put streight on the drug or do you have to go through the bloods etc again?

Any info woul dbe great i'm excited but i'm scared at the same time i just want to start already and the waiting is killing me.

I have gotten that bad that i have even started moving the furniture around in the house to feel like i am in control lol

hope you wise women can help me

Take care

Hi Marsha,

Congrats on starting the next part of your journey.

As you say the initial consultation is most likely to just be a meet and greet, go through your history and where they anticipate sending you next (i.e. IUI or IVF). They are most likely going to want to do a full natural cycle of bloods to see if you are ovulating naturally and possibly a scan to see how many follies you produce and what your womb lining is like. Once they have the full picture they will then give you a start date for treatment and maybe the drugs if you are starting very quickly.

It would be highly unlikely you'd start on the drugs straight away because, just like Clomid, they have to be started at certain points in your cycle, depending on what you decide to have done.

The waiting really is the worst but you find that it goes much faster than you think it will. Good luck!

Hi Marsha,

Having to wait for appointments can be very upsetting and frustrating, especially when you are all geared up to get going now!!
Try to take things one day at a time and perhaps set yourself wee goals to achieve to make the time pass quicker, for example..reading up about TX on FZ, healthy eating, giving up caffeine or having acupuncture.

Good Luck! MM x

Hi marsha sweetie, my old clomid bud, its annoying isnt it the wait i mean, but it is done for a reason, but i know what it's like and you just want to get going!!
I wish you all the luck in the world, i did try IUI, just the once and then went straight onto IVF, i just did the one IUI more so to get used to the drugs and the scans etc before IVF....i hope the time flies really quickly for you....
Take care xxx
