Ibuprofen/sudafed/antibiotic help please??

Hi - starting on the short protocol tonight. 1st try at IVF.

I've got an ear infection, went to the GP a week ago and they just said to take ibuprofen and sudofed and go back in a week if not any better for possible antibiotics. I really dont want to take antibiotics so am putting off going back.

Would having antibiotics and taking things like ibuprofen/sudafed be a bad idea when starting IVF tonight? Don;t want to do anything to ruin its chances you see.

thanks for your help

I would check with your clinic before taking either of those to be honest as my clinic have always told me not to take ibuprofen or decongestants when on a cycle - although this was just for a cold i don't know if it would be the same for an ear infection

Hiya!

There are antibiotic ear drops that they could use if your clinic says they are ok. Maybe that could be an option. But I would definately discuss this with your clinic. This link may give you some information on Ibuporfen......All the best hon. :hugs:

The antibiotics should be fine, but I would not take the ibuprofen. You could try taking paracetamol instead.
I think it is worth a phone call to your clinic to double check.
Hope your ear gets better soon,
M

Hi Lalazig,

I would check with your clinic about the ear drops and sudafed, as the other ladies have said.
I know that Ibuprofen is a no no when you are TTC, paracetamol is the safest option for pain relief.

Thanks very much for your help. I'm going to have paracetamol if it gets really bad.
