not sure!! sharp pains in lower tummy

Hi ladies, sorry to bother you, but yesterday i have noticed i have had some quite sharp pains in my lower tummy....not pains that i want to cry, but more like, you know when you have been holding onto a wee and you get that muscle sort of pain, that sort of pain.....hasten to add not all the time, about 4 times yesterday, i noticed it when i got out of bed and a couple more times, its quite sharp but only for a matter of seconds, could this be stretching? anything to worry about? not had it today so far, my tummy is tender to touch, i am gradually stopping my progesterone gel, this last week i am doing every other day, could it be that?
thanks lovely ladies xxx

Ooooh, BB. I hope you feel better soon. Can't really advise. I was getting sharp pains at the beginning and had a cyst and blood clots but I've got no idea.

Hope you feel better soon.

Weird pains

Hiya - yes, snuck onto 2nd Tri before my scan - NAUGHTY ME! :snigger:

I get sharp pains, low down as well BB. Sometimes to one side and sometimes to the other. I also get pains to one side of my tummy button. There is a LOT going on in there, for sure. I'm trying not to worry about it. I figure there is a lot of growth going on and other bits and pieces must be getting squashed or pushed out of the way, which is going to hurt as well.

Okay - am running back out of second tri now, in case I tempt fate before tomorrow's scan. Absolutely bricking it ladies...!!

Hope you're both good, miss ya and hope to be over here tomorrow!

Love, Sarah xxx

I had these pains too and my mw told me they are stretching pains. A lot of things move about inside to make room for our lo's. Hope that you are feeling a bit better today.

Hi BB,

Do you get these pains only when moving (getting up and down etc) or do you get them when you're resting as well? if you get them on moving it's almost certainly round ligament pain (feels like you've got cramp in your pelvis?) if you get them when lying down then if you don't mind me asking have you been consipated at all? I know I was at your stage and the stabbing pains were actually caused by stuff moving through parts of my bowels that were obviously irritated and sore.

Ah yes, they are round ligament pains. I used to get them when I got up to go for a wee in the night. I would get out of bed, stand up and then double over for a minute while I wait for them to uncramp, then waddle to the bathroom. Try standing up very slowly, it takes a while to remember to do so but once you get into the swing it should stop them going into spasm when you stand as they have time to stretch gently as you unfold.

I get the same and mine also go round my right hip and down into my bum cheek, I rang the midwife as well and she said it was ligament pain and soft pelvis. Do you have a Mums Bumps and Tums near you? I'm going on 15th to see if they can help. xx
