ooh look, we've got a new home  which means I won't remember anything on the other thread but there you go, no change there :snigger:

well it's going to be 32 degrees today and it's September :8o: I'm sorry to moan, but with this little hot water bottle in me, it's not pleasant working in such heat!

I've hardly bought anything for baby yet. just a bed, a baby carrier and a small amount of clothes. Not really feeling like I need to rush out yet, and with moving to America in January, it makes no sense to go crazy.

Good luck with your 20 week scan tomorrow Jane, you'll love it! Will you find out what flavour you're having or are you being strong and resisting?

Morning Ladies hope you all had a great Bank Holiday.

My little dog had 5 pups yesterday morning - been up what feels like all night with her last night but she is getting the hang of it (I think!!) Its her 1st litter so I think she was a little over whelmed last night! (good practice for when my lo arrives :snigger:)

Thank godness I am only working 3 1/2 hours today - should be done at 1.00pm then back to bed me thinks!! :snigger:

Morning everyone!

Thanks for the kind welcomes! Its scary moving in here!

I've not been sick again this morning and I don't feel sick so I'm hoping that its passing!!! Woohoo!! I did gip a bit when brushing my teeth but I'm ok!

May go out for a ride in the car with DH this morning seeing as its a nice morning.

Got to ring our landlord too and tell him the bathroom door is dragging on the tiles and let him know that my Nana is coming to stay. And possibly tell him I'm pg!

Hey ladies, and welcome Flic, Zoe, Mavis and Bettyboop - lovely to see you all on here! Hope those of you still being sickly are over it soon.

Good luck with your scan tomorrow Jane. I had really weird dreams in the run up to mine too, including one where we couldn't find the hospital (hello - I work there!) and turned up 45 minutes late, then DH kept faffing about talking to people and I ended up going to the appointment with a workie I met in the lift! Hmmm... Luckily there were no dramas on the day, and yours will be just fine too :D

Lovely news about the pups Mitzymoo, they'll certainly keep you busy :D

I see loads of you have bought quite a bit of baby stuff already. I've picked up a few bits and bobs - mainly cute clothes that Wee M will grow out of in no time! Also a baby bath set, as we're getting the bathroom redecorated, and some bibs and toiletries. Am totally flummoxed as to which pram to get though - any suggestions for a reasonably priced travel system that folds down pretty small?

Hope everyone else is good. I'm off to the midwife this afternoon to hopefully get my MATB1 form - then I can get matty leave sorted out - bring it on!

Take care xxxx

Hi to all the new ladies on here and hope that you are keeping well. I hope that the sickness starts to subside soon Flic. Jane I hope that the scan goes well tomorrow and that all is well.
I'm still keeping well and still not feeling the lo move but I'm just waiting for the first few flutters within the next few weeks. One of the girls at work who never told us she was pregnant had a scare over the weekend and had a bleed on Sat. She has just been for a scan and she and lo are fine. She is 7 weeks and I'm so pleased for her that all has worked out.

Christine xx

Hiya to all the new joiners - fab to have you all over here, its so nice getting to the 2nd trimester isnt it, can relax a bit more.

Hope you get your mat form moogle, that will be so cool. it is weird all the dreams that being pg brings - we all must have rather wacky dreams.

Speaking of shoppng me and DH have been talking about what we can get once tomorrows scan is over - want to wait to see everything is ok first, think im just so worried as thought i would never get here and a part of me is just waiting for something to go wrong, im sure i will relax more after tomorrow.

Anyway DH is really excited to start getting things - we know what pram we want so just need to order it (ok so once his folks give us money for it :snigger:). Need to get a mag to get an idea of what i need - keep of thinking of the main things but im so sure theres lots of essentials that have no idea about ?(

We wont be able to find out the sex tomorrow  want to know as im very much a planner / organiser person but its against hospital policy to tell (in case they get it wrong), typical postcode lottery NHS tells some but not others

hope everyone is having a good day

Hello everyone and welcome to our newbies xx

Good luck with your scan tomorrow Jane, you'll love it, its quite amazing the difference from your 12 week one.

Fantastic news about your pups Mitzymoo. We really miss our dog, we always stop and smile when we see a boxer now, such crazy animals.

Well rang the midwife today because I was a tad worried about the pain in my left side, I was ok until Peanut kicked and it hurt and then started worrying. She thinks its just ligament pain and my pelvis has sofened so she has told me to make an appointment with Mums Bumps and Tums.

Next delivered Peanuts bedroom accessories today, they're fab, cant wait to get the bedroom ready tomorrow. Never believed our spare room would eventually be a nursery, its soo exciting - god i'm so soft lol.

I still haven't taken a pic of my bump yet, will do at some point and get it posted.

Hope everyones well xxx

I was exactly the same as you Wee Janey just convinced that something would be wrong but everything turned out fine. If you're lucky and it's clear cut the Sonographer might steer you in the right direction as to the sex without actually telling you (depends if you get a nice one or not and how anal they are). Or you could say, "could you point out his penis" and if she says it hasn't got one you'll know it's a girl!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Flic, Mavis and Bettyboop!

Flic - It's 'I love my Bear' stuff we have bought for LO's room, both DH and I really like it,x

Thankyou to everyone for your support about my symptoms.
I phoned the surgery and was initially told I couldn't be seen for over a week!
I explained that I was pregnant and had been told to get an apt by the hospital so I got in to see the Nurse Practitioner this afternoon.

She took bloods for Glucose, Thyroid, FBC and I've to go back Friday again for results.
It was refreshing that she listened to me and checked my BP and pulse. All were ok but I was telling her about the instances of racing heart, palpitations, tiredness and shortness of breath on minimal exertion.
It might be normal but at least I've been and had it checked anyway,x

I looked at the thread about What they don't tell you before you are pregnant - very funny and familiar!

Good morning everyone,

So will it be a quiet day for you today then, Poppit?

Jane, Hope you are well. I still have nausea myself. Mine didn't really start until the beginning of 2nd trimester and has continued since.
I find that if I keep eating lots of small bits and pieces, it seems to ease a bit.
I also continued with my Pregnacare Plus tablets and I don't think they help, I've discovered. If it continues, I will have to stop them.

I had no sleep again last night - just really restless and mind racing and my hips were pretty sore again, I'm getting crazier week by week! I managed to get off to sleep just before 8 this am and it could only have been minutes when the bloody dog woke me up crying for the toilet. The heating had come on in our room so it was boiling and when I got out of bed I looked like a banshee. :snigger:
I've just had some cereal and I think I will try and go back to bed for a couple of hours,x

re the sickness and pregnacare

the folic in them can actually make you feel more queasy do u have them with food?

try laying off for a few days and see if that maes it any better

you sound like i did when i was anaemic so maybe thats what your probs are due to

i had iron on prescription but on eof my MW mates recemmended SPatone worked wonders and less constipation i recommend floradix to my women but thibk i wil recomend spatone in future maybe you should get some it wont do you any harm as its iron enriched spring water , add it to fresh orange !

Morning,

Oh dear Lisa sounds like you had a bad night. I'm suffering a bit with my side, hip and bum, woke up in pain last night but fell asleep again sat up which helped. I've just made an appointment with Mums Bumps & Tums, do you have anything like that near you that could help?

Lovely day here in Leeds, well for now anyway, its supposed to rain this arvo.

Well im back from my scan and its good news - all looking ok and on target for dates :D

Cant describe how relieved i am, think it has still to sink in. Was so cool to see, although to be honest half the time i couldnt make out what was on the screen :snigger:

Poppit good luck with your mw app today.

I also find that the pg multi vits make me rather sick, i need to eat something then take tabs then eat again, otherwise i throw them up

lisa sorry your struggling to sleep, hope it gets better soon.

Fantastic news Jane! So glad it all went well :D :D

Flic, thanks for the advice, I haven't checked out Babies'R'Us yet so will make a beeline there this weekend. Goodness, you sound so organised already!

Lisa and Cheryl, hope your aches and pains have eased off now. That doesn't sound like fun.

I think I had some Braxton Hicks last night! I got this really tense feeling in the bump area when I was ironing and started panicking that something very weird was happening. It only lasted a minute or two, but then it happened again twice later when I was in bed and I noticed my tum had gone totally solid. Does this sound like BH? It's bizarre!

Hope everyone else is good today xxx

Hi ladies - hope everyone is doing well.

I am back at work after a week's holiday and it is such a struggle, not helped by a big lunch today at Frankie & Bennies, I just feel sooooo sleepy.

Hello ladies,

Well I'm mad. I went bra shopping this morning and there was literally nothing. Nothing at all. And my boobs are starting to spill out of this bra and I desperately need a new one. If you live in my town, don't have big boobs. AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!

Moogle, I am so not organised. I've not got a thing for the baby. Feel a bit guilty really! Just been looking at everything!

Hi Everyone...

Janey Glad the scan went well thats ace.. did you get any pics this time?

I found something out yesterday...

Did you know that for yourself or your baby (until they are 16) you can get from any chemist ( in scotland at least) free calpol, Gaviscon, stuff for teething etc etc list is endless, even piraton.. from the Pharmacist, it means you dont have to go the drs, I just found this out today when my mate who has been buying calpol for a while got it for nothing as someone told her its called Minor Ailments - see attached..

http://rpsgb.org.uk/pdfs/bettmanminail.pdf

Moogle oh braxton hicks, not had them myself yet but defo sounds like them eh?

I am going to merge over to 3rd timester as I am getting in a muddle between the two, I will be waiting for you all to come over and will pop back from time to time.

Hi lasses,

On the subject of bras.... :O I too have quite a big chest normally, which has grown and grown! When I read I shouldn't have underwire I ordered a couple of soft cups ones. They look OK (not very sexy but OK!). But my boobs look like they're really droopy in my clothes?? Any advice??? Maybe it's just tough :snigger: ?(

Thanks everyone for your support, I'm hoping tonight will be better,x

Poppit, your BP sounds fine, similar to mine actually,x :D

Clarabelle, I was wearing the soft cup maternity bras initially but like you felt my boobs looked droopy and a bit fed up with themselves. They were also getting quite sore. So, I went to M&S and got measured again and tried both maternity and regular support bras. The support ones, although still not very flattering were much more supportive and 'the boys' looked perkier in them! They were just under £20 for a pack of two - a white one and a black one,x

Hey all

Iv missed lots
My boobs look stupid too, Iv wore wires my whole life and I cant get used to the shape they look in the nursing bra's but I got fitted too and now that Iv been wearing them a while, Iv got used to it a little, I may have bought them a little early though as 2 of them no use whatsoever, I think they advise 36 weeks to get fitted for proper nursing bras so will go back then.

Got MW tomorrow, think its just routine BP, urine and HB check will be nice to hear him again :D

Morning all!

On the bra subject again, I got measured at debenhams because my bra started feeling a bit tight and the girl there was wonderful. She told me to get measured every trimester and go back a couple of weeks before I'm due to get nursing bras. The ones I got were really comfy and my boobs do look normal. I thought they would just hang there after wearing wired ones but these are fab. I think it helps getting measured. She gave me good advice, like normal bras you put on the loosest hooks because they get stretched where as maternity ones you put on the tightest hook to allow you to grow. I'm still a 34, just my cup sizes are getting bigger.

Will have a look in Matalan!
