Steff - what a bargain!!! Thats brilliant!! a fiver!!! My cat is a bit like that sometimes. One of them (Tonto) always looks like he's tired cos his eyes are always half shut, then one day we took him to the vets (for something else) and she had a look at him and said 'did you realise his eye lids are too big for his eyes??' Turns out he's not actually tired at all, he just can't open his eyes fully!!

BB - I'd speak to the midwife. Obviously I will be joining you in screaming but they tell you alsorts apparently. Its 2 hours long!! Will let you know what happens and stuff!

Hi all,

Stupid work computers went kuput this morning so this is the first chance I have had to get one here and I proper went through cold turkey!!! Think I might be addicted :O

Don't really know why I needed to other than to hear about everyone else as nothing exciting has happened here. Couldn't sleep, was up at 4 doing some hand sewing - oh yes, hand sewing. I know how to enjoy myself :snigger:

Done a million things this morning though at work since I couldn't spend my time on here. Hmmm think I might have found my problem.....nooooo couldn't be :D

BB - that must have been proper odd having someone ring up about your job. But 4 1/2 weeks -woooohooo :D

Flic - pizza sounded lush except that fungus that you put on the top - yuck!

Klaudia - Ok, I am super jealous of you going away for a bt of sun. I remember I think one time feeling the hot sun on my face but it is such a dim and distant memory..... :snigger:

Jess - don't go back to work then hun. Work is such a dirty habit isn't it. Why couldn't FZ win that Euromillions thingy? Ahhh dreaming again ?(

Kat - good luck with the ol' piggy flu jab. Dh said that there is a message from the Dr's on the home phone asking me to ring but I can't decide what to do. Decision, decisions, decisions!!!! Only just managed to decide what flavour cuppa soup to have today and that was a push I can tell you. :8o:

Clarabelle - 3rd TRI!!!!! They have babies over there you know. Are you sure you want to leave the safety of the 2nd tri???? Just joking. See you there soon and enjoy :D

Betti - WEEEYY HEEE on the scan results hun. Isn't it wonderful to hear that all is well and for a little brief moment you have nothing to worry about. Enjoy and hold on to that my sweet. Enjoy and smile :D

Still no bump for me just fat and looking like I ate all the pies. It is actually starting to get me a little down to be honest. I know I should expect it as I am a big girl but I feel so pg and want to look it too. I know it is not the most important thing but I am just a little glum about it. Finally got my hair cut though - I know, you are all breathing a sigh of relief and I actually quite like it. It is proper short though but does look better.

Ok, now I have had my FZ fix, off to check up on everyone else and then back to work otherwise they will begin to expect me to do loads and that would NEVER do :snigger:

Oh and 18 weeks today - hurrah :D

x

5 August got a natural out of the blue:BFP: after 7 years of trying!!! How the heck did THAT happen - oh yeah by losing weight :D

Vezza- happy 18 weeks hun,

The vaccine was fine, it was the pandemrix one, she says i may get a sore arm maybe not today but in a couple of days. I just asked about the risks to and she said they are very small.

Hi Guys,

Hope everyone is doing ok ??
Well i am 14 weeks today cant believe how quick its going got a bump already but they do say the more babies you have had the quicker you start to show.

Went and saw midwife few days ago and took my doppler with me found the heartbeat really quickly i listen to it everyday now hubby and the kids love listening to it !!!
Its been so hot here the last week been in the high 30`s today its 41 so glad we got the pool.

I see there is lots of talk about the swine flu jab ive decided not to have it just dont think it is worth the risk agaisnt the chances of actually getting swine flu now guess everyone has their own views on things.

Anyway back off to the pool now will check in later xx

18 weeks Vezza - wahheeey. Glad you got your hair done at last!

Kat, hope alls well after the vaccination, and that you're feeling better.

Seems like the nesting has officially started - all this clearing out!! Klaudia, I too am v envious of your Egypt plans - what a lovely birthday pressie.

Flic, hope you had a relaxing avo at home and that it's not too cold if you have to work again today. Can't wait to hear about your antenatal class.

And Kelly, the opposite - how hot have you got it over there - must be funny reading our moans about the cold and the grey?!!!

Work wasn't too bad yesterday and I'm hoping it'll be ok today. Mum's taking DH and I out for a meal tonight as a belated birthday treat, so I've got pilates then a tasty meal - fab!

Happy 14 weeks Kelly!!

Jess - Will post about the antenatal class when I get back. If they talk about home birth I'll put it on my home birth thread. But will fill you in on what they say.

Flic that is very weird about ur cat, and how the vet said did u notice his eyelids are too big.... how would u even no that, surely ppl dont no how big eyelids are supposed to be haha and was it u who when u first got pregnant in 1st tri was saying ur cat was acting different towards u? kept lying on ur bump? cos both my cats will not leave me alone its getting silly, and my mums dog and a dog at a ladys house i work for have both been having false pregnancys since i became pregnant and are on hormone treatments theyve got loads of milk in there boobies and everything its so funny, they got jelous of me and both started to pretend!
Vezza, dont worry u are not alone i think we all get the FZ addiction we are all gonna cry when there is no longer a chat room for us anymore once all our babies are here bouncing around, or maybe there is i dont no i havnt looked!
BB yes screaming sounds good to me, i think we shud be allowed to hurt others ears when were going throo other pain!
Kelly i think im with u on the swine flu jab, im unsure about the risks and plus i dont really go out into alot of public places plus my immune system is amazing, my DH and 2 of his friends, my mum and some1 at work all had flu rly shockingly bad a few weeks ago they all seemed like they wernt going to come through it and i was around all of them and i was fine, i started to get a sore throat one day but my body seemed to fight it off cos it went away after a day i must have ninjas in my immune system haha so anyway to the point i think my body will hopefully fight anything off quite well but i dont go out many places and get too close to anyone so im not gonna have it!
Jess what kind of meal are u having?
AFM i feel guilty today DH had to be up at 4am to drive and pick 2 work mates up then drive up to pick a part up from somebody and then drive all the way to london from bristol, fit a part and then drive back, so he will be tired and i kaept him awake last night with my tossing and turning so hes got to do that having no sleep! i feel bad!
yesterday bump seemed to grow a bit more and belly button popping right out.
As DH took the car this morning so i didnt have to get up with him at 4 and drop him off to pick van up im left without my car so im going to be bored today, DH told me i have to put my feet up and relax and play games on the DS or on here to pass the time and not to do anything around the house as im growing a person and i need to relax a bit more than i have been, very sweet of him, but i get irritable just sitting down all day, i have been cleaning everything and finding things to clean which u wouldnt usually bother with like cupboards, doors, washing sofa covers, anti bacterial cleansing of anything down low that a baby might be near, i have a clean house but im obsessed with germs at the mo and boredom too!
god ive wrote so much, im very sorry!
Il go now haha
hugs!

Morning all!

Kelly - happy 14 weeks hun and I am dead jealous of you having a bump already. No fair :snigger:

Steff - if you get too bored there is always my house you know so don't you worry :snigger:

Flic - No work again!!! and you were digging me out :D

I was shockingly late into work today as I turned the alarm off this morning. I was tired from not sleeping the night before I think and have now made up for it. Problem is that I look :8o: No time to wash my hair or put slap on so people keep asking me if I feel ok! Ha - nice huh. Obviously look a little scary :snigger:
I have been talked into a horrible week next week too with work.
Monday - Preston, Tuesday - london, Wednesday - local office, Thursday - Preston and Friday - london again. I might sleep for a week after all that :innocent: I must learn how to say NO!

Weighed myself this morning though and happy to report that I have put on a total of 1.2kg since being pg. Happy with that especially as I feel like I am eating like a horse at the moment too.

Vezza, well done on the minimal weight gain, you may not have a visible bump yet but you're obviously filling up on healthy stuff, unlike me. I gained 5kg from 7+5 to 15w! and since before I started tx, a total of about 8kg :8o: . I am expecting twins, but I know that a lot of the weight gain is down to lack of exercise and eating rubbish, so be proud of yourself :D .

Jess, talking of food, enjoy your meal out tonight, what are you going for? Italian? Steak? Indian? :yumyum:

Steff, it sounds like your nesting instincts are kicking in already! I doubt that will ever happen to me :snigger: .

Betti, great news on your NT scan, if you're like me, you will start to feel a lot more relaxed and less nervous about everything.

Inik, let me know how comfy your uggs are when they arrive. I'm not sure I'd look good in uggs myself though, as I have short leggs and I think uggs might make them look stumpier! Egypt in January sounds lovely and great to have something to look forward to after Christmas and your birthday.

Chalmers, well done on the clearout! We are quite good at clearing out, because we have to move about every 2 years with DH's job. I've moved twice in the almost 5 years I've lived in Germany, and we did a clear out before both moves. There's a limit to what you can accumulate in 2 years (although I'm quite good at hoarding :snigger:)

Flik, my ankles were really swollen after my trip to Turkey, and they weren't going down. I then wore flight socks for one day and try to make sure I drink lots of water and they're almost back to normal. You might get in those sexy shoes yet  .

Bettyboop, how weird, your job being filled, do you get a say in who takes it?

Aussiegirl, how easy do you find the doppler? I'm thinking of buying Pooch's (she lives in the same city as me and recently had her baby).

Clarabelle, have fun in the 3rd tri, you'll be a mummy by the time I get there!

I had a Drs. appt yesterday. I had to pay for my scan as normally they wouldn't do one but I was happy to do that to see that they are both growing at the same rate, and it was lovely seeing their little legs kick  . I have made my appt for the next big scan with the specialist Dr. they do it at 22w to make sure the babies are big enough and because they only do emergencies between Xmas and New year it's on 4th January. I'll be 22+5 then. Looking forward to that as the scanner is really amazing how much detail you can see, and in front of the bed is a massive 42" TV screen showing everything so you don't have to twist to see the monitor.

Hello,

Just waiting for DH to get back from work so we can go to antenatal! I'm dead nervous! I have no idea what to expect at all.

Vezza - Well done for the 1.2kg! Thats really good! Shows that you are still losing weight even though you have a baby growing! You must be very disciplined.

I'm drooling now, that sounds so yum :licklips: . The Germans are very proud of their sausages but you really can't beat a proper British banger. Think I will have to put in a request for sausages when we're over at Christmas time.

Hello,

Well DH was late first of all and that proper stressed me out and now I have a real headache.

Got there and the midwife was lovely. She told us all about labour, pain relief, what happens when you deliver the placenta, we watched a dvd and actually saw someone give birth and deliver the placenta.

I asked her about pain relief if fI had a home birth and she seemed all for it! She said that they prefer you to be able to cope with just gas and air, but if it gets to the point where you need an epidural they would transfer you to hospital.

She went through some positions for labour and siad that if you move around its better for labour and the baby and went through the uses of a birthing ball (which I think I might get) Apparently you can get them from Asda or a couple of quid!!

All in all it was quite good. I was quite suprised how much I knew really. She had a bit of a quiz for us and one of the questions was what are the stages of labour (1st stage, 2nd stage, 3rd stage) and she said that she'd never met anyone who knew what they were called and then who actually told her what happened in each stage!! Dead proud I was!!

Hi ladies, there's been loads of activity on here - I can't keep up!

I'm absolutely shattered today as sleeping terribly. This wasn't helped by (1) the babies turning somersaults for about and hour from 4am, and (2) the pain from the site where I had my swine flu jab.

Yes, I decided on balance I would have it. I have lots of links if anyone wants any more info. I thought long and hard about having it because, basically, we're guinea pigs having an untested virus used on us. I was as worried about the effects of the additives in the vaccine as much as the vaccine itself, as some of them are not licenced in some countries. However, these additives have been used in many countries on many pregnant women before with no known harm befalling them or the babies and the swine flu virus is just another flu virus after all. When I weighed this up against the likelihood of me catching swine flu when we are in a pandemic, living in a densely populated area with a child and partner who are exposed to many many people through playgroups, nursery and work and the risks of potential complications to me and the unborn babies if I were to contract swine flu, I decided the balance was in favour of having the vaccine. It was a really hard decision and I think it's entirely personal (I kept changing my mind and at one stage thought about leaving the clinic as I was the only pregnant woman there initially and I though "what am I doing here?"). But it's done now. I just hope it was the right choice for us.

Claire A I laughed at your description of German shoe choices - I could not live in your country! I no longer wear heels as I have a nearly 3 year old and we live right next to a (usually muddy) park/woodland where I spend most of my time, but I LOVE shoes! Even though I very rarely wear them, I have some shoes I just love to look at! :snigger:

Klaudia, I want to thank you for recommending the pregnancy relaxation CD. Whatever sleep I have achieved, it's been because of that - I've never not fallen asleep by the end of it - it really works for me.

BettyBoop - your next scan is on the same date as mine!

Anyway, I have a very tired body so I'm going for a nap.

Hope you're all well

R x

Flic, clever you for knowing the stages of labour, I wouldn't have a clue! Think I'm trying to bury my head in the sand about that for a while or I'll get too scared :scared:.

Aussiegirl, hope you're having a good sleep :yawning:

Inik, thanks for the Ugg report, so your verdict is Uggs are ugg!

Princess Zoe, :hi:

Bettyboop, 4D scan, how exciting, although why do they call it 4D, what is the 4th dimension? holmes

I went to acupuncture today, the first time for ages as I missed the last one because of having a cold and not wanting to spread it around. She said that my ankles are definitely puffed up and that my veins are weak and that I should get elastic stockings (she is a gynae as well as acupuncturist). She even called my Dr. and left a message about it! Apparently I can get a prescription for them and I would be measured for them and they would be especially made for me :8o:. Then in about 8 weeks I would have to get remeasured. If I need them that's fine, but I do hope I can have them in black and not granny tan, or worse still, bandage white X(. I was planning to wear a skirt every now and then.

Hi everyone it's been so busy on here I can't keep up. I too had my swine flu vaccine the other day and a part from my arm being sore no other side effects. I have mw appoint tomorrow and I hope that all goes well. I hope that when I'm there that she says something about antenatal classes. I only have two more shifts to go and then that is work over with till mid July. Hope that you have a good weekend when it comes.

Hi ladies,

Klaudia ,I ment 20 week scan and not 30!
Egypt will be fantastic you must be looking so much forward to it. I was there a couple of years ago and there was nice and warm. Just make sure you wash your hands a lot and take a plastic bag for their money as its so so dirty.

Kat and Roxy hope you are good after the swine flu jab,, I am still not sure what to do.

Vezza Congratulations on 18 weeks

Kelly I am so jealous of the warm weather you are having, here no more than 10 degrees and its been rainy all week  And huge congratulations with your son.

Claire so nice to hear that you had a scan, it is lovely to see your little ones fine and kicking. Let us know how your stockings turn out.

Flic, so proud of you that you know the stages of giving birth, all too new for me.

I am doing ok, husband still sick with the flu but he seems to be getting better. Yesterday I woke up with pain on my eye and my eyelid turn out to be a bit swollen, today I have had some discomfort and it's now red and a little more swollen. I don't want to worry and to rush into thinking something is really wrong so I hope tomorrow its better. Has anyone ever experience something like this, red swollen eyelid??

Roxy, I can't feel the babies moving yet, but I did dream last night that they were moving loads. Actually I dreamt that I dreamt they were moving, then I woke up and they were really moving, but that was a dream as well! (That probably makes no sense :loony: . Oh the shoes aren't that bad here, if you really hunt around in the bigger shopping centres you can find more interesting shoes but mostly hideously expensive. I do most of my shoe shopping in the UK.

Betti, hope your eye doesn't stay too swollen.

Happy Christine and everyone else :hi:

I was full of good intentions this morning to get on with my work but haven't started yet, oops. DH and I are off to visit MIL this w/e as in a couple of weeks she's off to Trinidad to join FIL who is working out there. Have a nice weekend everyone!

Betti are u sure its not a sty??
I am scared this morning, ive just read lots of articles on ivf babies being born premature, and that many are born between 32 and 36 weeks and say to be prepared for it. :what:
Aparently its down to the problems that women have with there reproductive system which is why they need ivf in the first place, means theyre bodies dont carry to the full term and theyr 3 times more likely to be born premature!
How scary is that, knowbody has mentioned that to me!
Obviously its not every ivf baby but it is a little worrying!
That would mean some of us dont really have that long before we shud start preparing!
Has anybody else heard of this?

Hi ladies and bumps

Firstly I must appologise for not being on here for so long. My DH wisked me away for two weeks to spain to his bosses villa which was lovely and relaxing. I then get home to work being so busy that when i finish I just go to bed! Ive still got my morning sickness but now at least I have good days and bad days - I think it depends on how tired i am!

Im glad to read that your all doing ok, i must say I have missed you all and my daily fix of FZ.

I will try and read up on the posts and write a longer post when I can.

Love to you all and your bumps

Hi everyone,
It seems like ages since I've been on here as it's been so busy in the last few days - too busy for me to do personals today - sorry!

Well I hit the 20 weeks mark on Wednesday - which is amazing as I'm officially half way through now, plus (according to the picture in my week by week baby book) my baby is REALLY big now and looks like a skinny version of a normal newborn! I had my scan yesterday, which was a bit disappointing as the baby refused to co-operate. It had it's head wedged in really far down in my pelvis so they couldn't take the skull measurements, even after they sent me away to drink about 30 litres of water to try to "lift it out", and then kept its little legs crossed so we couldn't really see it's bits and pieces properly. Still, the nurse was fairly sure that it is a girl (either that or a boy who might end up with a complex), and hopefully we'll find out for sure next wednesday when I have to do the whole thing again. Fingers crossed that its feeling less shy and more co-operative then!

Cor, been busy on here again!

Sandy, lovely to have you back. Sorry that morning sickness is still plaguing you - sounds like it's easing a bit though thank heavens. And, two weeks away - how lovely - well done DH!! I hope you took the opportunity to properly relax, enjoy each others company and truly delight in planning to welcome your new addition.

Flic - gold star and 10 house points for you at your ante natal class!

Good to hear those of you who have had the swine jab are ok (except for those sore arms!)

Steff, I've not heard about the increased chances of prem babies with IVF. I wonder of it could be anything to do with the more accurate dating that's possible when you've had tx mmmmmm

AFM - the meal last night was delish and, for those of you who asked, it was 'modern British' I guess. I had smoked haddoch fish cake on parsley veloute (or sauce to me!) - the fish cake looked like an amzing scotch egg, and was really lovely. I followed that with roast partridge with squash (butternut not orange!) in different guises. DH had crab & lobster cocktail then venison - a lump of loin and what looked like a mince pie, but was made with more venison - that too was scrummy. And, lastly Mum had soused makerel with a soft boiled quails egg and black pudding, then pork belly and pigs cheek!!

I'm glad we don't eat like that every night but it was a really lovely treat. And, yes, we did have room for pud but I won't bore you with those details :D

We have a midwife appt this avo and I'm hoping we can listen to BB's heartbeat. Seems like ages since our scan and I just want to know everything's ok.

Anyway, I've gone on long enough (sorry!).

Ggggggrrrrrrrrrrrr X( The midwife cancelled as she's ill. I'm really cross and a bit upset as I was so looking forward to hearing that little heartbeat and now I'm more worried that something might be wrong without us knowing. Irrational I know, but I feel all :bawl: DH came home from work early for the appt too. ANd the next one we can have is in TWO weeks - just before our 20week scan, so I'm proper peeved. DH was sweet about it trying to reassure me that nothing's wrong, but I'm just cross. I've left a message at the Midwife office asking if we can have an appt sooner anywhere else, so that might happen.

Sorry to rant. Anyway, I'm off to acupuncture now, so hopefully that calm me down a bit....

So to make me feel better today after work I went shopping and bought a winter dress, tomorrow I will continue shopping as I need new bigger clothes.

Jess so sorry to hear about your midwife appointment I totally understand you as we all want thing to go just right to make sure out little ones are doing good.I really hope you can get an earlier appointment.

Flic, how sweet that you bought a set with your baby's name, I am really having trouble choosing a name of course we dont know if it will be a girl or boy, but either way dont have any special names in mind yet!

Hi everyone sorry Jess that your appoint with mw was cancelled today and I hope that you get an appoint soon. Seems that everyone is doing well and that bumps are growing well. AFM I went to mw today and all seemed to be going well. The only thing that has worried me is that she said the head was down. I hope that the lo is planning on staying put for a while yet and not on coming to early. Hope that you all have a good weekend.

hi all,

Gosh its been busy on here.

Sorry ive not been opn much, my mum and step-dad re-newed their wedding vows yesterday, It was their 15th anniversary. My step dad Bill took a stroke in january this year and is paralysed down the left side so he wanted to renew the vows to let everyone know how much he loves my mum. He is so sweet.

It was really an emotional day as they both had made their own vows, Bill was crying through his, but mum managed to stay composed. It was really sad.

Then we went for a meal after it and after my mum had a few glasses of wine she was up dancing and pulling bill about the place in his wheel chair, we though he was going to be sick.

All in all it was a really great day, but i feel exhausted today, just in from work there and cant wait to get to bed.

I am fine after the swine flu jag still got a sore arm though.

enough rambling night night xx

Hi all, you'll be pleased to hear I'm feeling less cross today.

We had a friend down last night and went to a local pub for some food. DH & friend drank lots and I had my fill of grapefruit & soda!

I'm off to London today for one of my BF's hen-dos. We're going to afternoon tea at a burlesque club this avo :O and then for a meal & cocktails (hopefully some interesting virgin ones for me) tonight. I don't know anyone else that's going so I'm a bit nervous. My skin's erupted again too

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Hey girls,
Im feeling so heavy at the moment i got stroppy last night and shouted at DH "its not u that has to carry this weight around every day"!!!! because i asked him to 1: please make me a cup of tea, 2: put the oven on 3:get me a glass of water all throughout the night and he didnt do any of it, he said ok then and then sat there so i done it all myself, the reason he got shouted at was because he said "ive been to work all day"!!
I never ask him to do anything but i felt like a lump trying to pull myself up out of the sofa all the time when i needed to do something so i thought he cud just do them little things for me.....idiot. haha
Im fine today tho, still feeling very heavy tho, im not used to having a giant boulder stuck to me and having to carry on life as normal haha oh and i keep getting told dont moan its only gonna get bigger....yeah cheers i no that haha
oh the joys!
I love my bump really!
Jess can we all come to London with u? sounds like a good night out! what are u going to wear?

Hello Ladies

Again I haven't been able to get on here all week as been so busy with work, not getting in until gone 7pm & can't log on using works computer. Then in the evenings we have been out too so I have been getting desperate for my FZ fix!

Its been so busy on here this week that I have read everyone's postings but with my foggy pregnancy brain I can't remember who said what to give personal replies!!

I have definitely started to show now which is nice and luckily its starting to take the rounded bump shape rather than the bloated fat belly I had before from all the treatment! I've bought quite a lot of maternity wear off ebay and got some real bargains & my (.)(.) are so big and heavy now I've invested in some maternity bra's & ditched the underwire ones.

I know some of you are having probs with DH being a bit thoughtless & I'm sure my hubby's nurturing streak will desert him the more demanding I become but so far he's been really sweet. I'm still doing my fair share around the house but he's definitely taking on more housework without really being asked and he keeps saying I look sexy (which I don't feel & it doesn't get him anywhere either!!) but its lovely to hear all the same.

At our 12 week scan our consultant insisted we book in for antenatal classes then as they get fully booked and when we went to do this we got one of the last places & they don't start until February! I feel lucky we took his advice.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend & feels good & I'll check in later.

Bye xx

Hej Lynne, we are so close in our pregnancies as today I am officially 14 weeks. I and DH can see my little bump and although I only have one pair of jeans that fit properly, I don't know why but I have not bouhght maternity jeans,I was out trying some today but don't fill them up yet, so I will probably wait a week or so, in the meantime I will be wearing leggings.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
