Stomach Tightness

Now I know my skin will tighten but from this pm onwards my stomach feels really tight and it's hard to straighten up. Is this normal?

You may be like me, my skin felt tight constantly pretty much throughout. Especially the bigger baby got.

My mum said its cos I have a 'dry pregnancy' which is apparantly where ,my body is not retaining much fluid. Some women have baggy bellys, I have seen them on Sky programmes like midwives etc. Where they are holding more fluid.

Who knows, just keep yourself creamed up to avoid stretch marks. I not got any yet and am almost 39 weeks. It prevents itching too as your tummy will itch as the skin stretches.

Maybe one of the more experienced ladies can help you hun.

I use pregnacare cream daily and have started to use cocoa butter cream for stretchmarks.

It's more like I've eaten a 3-course meal and it's really tugging!

You might be feeling some early Braxton Hicks contractions Jenny. These are just "practice" tightenings and can sometimes be felt veyr early on. they are nothing to worry about and it doesn't mean you're going to go into labour now.
It could also be the stretch mark fairy paying an early visit.........

Blimey o'reilly!! Actually, when I had major pains a few weeks back the doc said I could be having practice BH. I nearly crapped myself.

I suppose it would make sense, gearing me up already!!! If it doesn't mean I am going into early labour then could it mean young lassie could appear before 40 weeks?

No not necesarily. BH's actually start from as early as 8-10 weeks, but very few people feel them then. Most feel them later on in preg, 30 weeks onwards, but don't worry. as long as they don't have any regular pattern to them, or are not hugely painful then be reassured it's nothing serious. is bubba moving ok?

Lil miss is moving all the time. Sometimes if feels like she's twanging something and is more in the middle. Although sometimes it feels lower down in the pubic region.

I sometimes sit here smiling or chuckling to myself and work wonder what I'm on about!

Did you ever have trouble walking up the stairs at this point? I feel the pulling more now, but that could be cos of the tightness at the mo.

Yep, when you walk upstairs it pulls on the already stretched ligaments in your hips and groin area so it can be painful- good excuse to use the lift sometimes!

We don't have a lift here as it's a listed building, and to top it off I'm on the top floor - 4 flights of stairs to go up and down everyday!!

Jen - no stretch marks for me yet, fingers crossed.

I have had pain between my legs for the last couple of days, it' sort of right at the top of my legs, it feels a bit bruised really. It make s me waddle a bit. Sound at all familiar?
