certainly mention it to someone if you are worried or have any other symptoms, but if it helps my cousins nose swelled up across her face when she was pregnant....the midwife said to her it was just one of those things?

Hi ya

I've been told that a bit of swelling is to be expected in the 3rd trimester, but to tell the midwife / doctor esp if you get any pain around your bump or if your BP has been high as it can be a sign of something else. If in doubt i'd just give your midwife a call and have a chat with her.

Hope it's all ok

My face has become a bit puffy and my ankles when I've been on my feet too long.

You're probably fine until Wednesday, but there's harm in calling your community midwives or delivery suite just to talk to someone who can maybe reassure you until then.

I ve been suffering with swelling for quite a while but my midwife has been keeping a close eye on me she says it is quite normal as long as you do not have any pain around your bump or headaces, they will also check for raised BP & protine in the urine but swelling on its own is very very normal & nothing to worry about.

Jen, when did you last have your blood pressure taken? Do you feel okay generally?

I would call in to the GP or the midwife tomorow to get it checked out, they should be able to squeeze you in between appointments, or failing that, any pharmacy will take your blood pressure for you too. You could then compare it to the readings in your notes.

Just a precaution really.

Hi Jen, it is common in these last weeks for your face to look a bit 'chubbier' than usual. Mine was really round in the last few weeks and when I look back at the photos I can't believe how round I was!

As the girls have said, if you get any headaches, or your face swells considerably (so that your eyes feel like they are under pressure) then get medical advice straight away.
