Homerton University Hospital, Hackney

After being referre to Homerton hospital for IVF by the fertility specialist on December. I have already went for my first appointment early Feb. The consultant, Dr Gaudi was very professional and friendly. He said my council will fund 3 free cycles of IVF. The usual waiting list is 6 months (surprisingly short) and I have been given ultrasound, pre assessment clinic and pre assessment nurse meeting on April & May. Dr Gaudi said the IVF treatment will be commenced on June this year.

I was a bit worried on the below average success rate of the IVF in Homerton (based on their statistic on 2005). Dr Gaudi said after they moved to the new building and have a new team of staffs (I assume lab staffs). he said the IVF success rate has risen remarkably, more than 40%. So fingers cross, it won't be long before I can have some positive result.

I had part of my treatment at the Homerton and Gudi is really great.
He knows what he is doing and I am glad that they are out of their container (where they were located earlier behind the bike shed :) ).

Hi,

I'm being referred on to the Homerton for IVF...have an initial consultation in a few weeks. Just wondered if anyone has been recently. My current nurse thinks the waiting list is over a year and wondered if anyone knows any different?

I should probably be patient as I'll be going there soon but can't help wondering...
