Diarrhea (sorry TMI)

Hello ladies,

I have question. You know how pregnant ladies always complain about constipation? Well, I'm the opposite: I have had diarrhea (sorry, TMI) for days and days now, and it's getting worse. Has anyone experienced this, is it normal or should I be worried?

Thanks,

Alex

I experienced this at the beginning. For a few days I would be constipated and then have a whole day of diarrhea.

It went off after about 2 weeks but if you are worried ask the clinic or the gp.

Hope it gets better soon.

By my calculation you are roughly 5 weeks pregnant is that right? It can be a perfectly normal response to hormonal changes as Gemma says. Have you changed your diet at all. You haven't suddenly decided to eat a whole punnet of grapes a day or anything like that? Are you still on any IVF drugs at all that could be giving you side effects?

If you are otherwise feeling, ok, not nauseous or vomiting, no fever, and able to eat and drink normally, I wouldn't worry. Any concerns at all, see you GP.

Hello,

thanks for your replies. I have not changed my diet at all, apart from avoiding some kinds of cheese

Anyway, I've googled for it and it seems that actually it happens quite frequently, so I'm not too worried at the moment.

To be honest, if I had to choose between diarrhea and constipation, I'd stick with diarrhea :P

Hey hun,

when i was constipated up until last week or so really i often had bouts of dia..
can't spell it.

Doctor told me that i was still constipated but it was just the fluids passing by the blockage.

glad its all finally over now though.

hope all sorts out for you soon xx

Hi,
I had what I'd call an upset stomach for pretty much all of the 1st trimester. My midwife told me that was some people's version of morning sickness. I now have the constipation and wish I had the diarrhoea back!
