5 wks and spotting

I am 6 weeks since my LMP, but now I am spotting, not a lot and not often, but enough to worry me silly. I went to the EPU at Queen Elizabeth, they did a scan (no heartbeat yet) and a beta HGC 6600. This stuff was all OK, so now I have to try not to worry until the 17th which is the date of my scan.

I hope everyone else still has fingernails left!

Hey Girls
was wondering if I could join this thread as I have been in the Clomid Chicks and dont want to be posting pregnancy stuff there!! I have just got a BFP on my 8th cycle of Clomid, I was due to see my doc on Friday anyway so I cant wait to see his face when I tell him...has been soo supportive.....I got a natural BFP just over 2 years ago, but experienced a missed m/c which was only discovered at my 14 week scan...I was scanned at 9 weeks and we saw and heard a wee heart beat...I am really delighted to be pregnant as we have tried for 2 years and the Clomid was tough going...but now I feel I have a whole new bag of worries!!! trying to stay relaxed and positive about this though!!

Thanks girls
I saw my consultant on Friday and it was great!! when I told him the clomid had worked this month , he was like, "what?" his face was priceless...he said "Happy Days" and give me a hug !! He then did an internal scan and said that everything looked "perfect", he said he could see a faint heartbeat but that it was prob too early, and that he wanted me back in 2 weeks...of course when I left the appt my anxiety got the better of me and my mind was racing, why does he want me back in 2 weeks?? is there something wrong? anyway ..I just had 2 lovely days at a spa with my sister....but I am starting to worry myself and do my own head in....my boobs are still tender and HUGE and I am tired, but other than that Im not sick or anything.....am prob convincing myself something is wrong when it isnt and I try to focus on the positive with doc saying things were perfect...anyway sorry am raving on here a bit!

Hi Hun,

Chances are thereis nothing wrong and can be routine to go back after 2 weeks with such an early scan.

They will just want to re check the heartbeat, the feotal pole and the that everything is looking ok.

Congratulations hun and I know its very hard but try to relax.

Hi Girls
Had scan on Friday and doc said things look grand...am to go back in another 2 weeks as they want to keep close eye on me because of previous miscarriage, which is great and means less time to get anxious between scans....

am keeping well...but actually feeling very GREEN most of the time...am going off work today for a few weeks as I work in mental health and feel like puking over patients most of the day so thats not good !! lol
Will be back on as soon as I can to catch up with you all.....

Hi girls, boy am I glad to find this thread! I'm way to nervous to join the other pregnancy threads in case I jinx anything.

Technically I'm just 4 weeks exactly today, but I know I O'd early this cycle so development wise it's closer to 4 and a half. I had a missed miscarriage in March last year and I can't help comparing this time to all the things that happened last time. One of the hardest things about the mmc was that I had spotting and light bleeding every few days right from the start, but I kept getting fobbed off by my GP, midwife and local maternity unit who kept saying it was normal and not to worry. Then eventually we had a scan at 13 weeks and found out the bad news - I opted for medical management which didn't work, so after 3 days in hospital I ended up having a D&C after all.

It still makes me angry that it could all have been over weeks earlier and am determined that this time will be different - if anything seems untoward I'm going straight to the EPU. But xfingers that won't happen!

Elvis - we meet again! So pleased that your scan went well. I hope you're feeling a little less queasy now dear :D

Congratulations to all you other newly pregnant ladies!

Yes, we've a scan booked for 22nd May so less than 3 weeks away now :D One thing that's keeping my PMA up is that last time I was under a lot of stress both workwise and healthwise, but this time things are relatively peaceful all round. So am just trying to take it easy and not fret!

Ooh I see from your ticker you're due very soon....how exciting! Good luck and all the best to you xxxx

welcome Moogle!!

Having a scan sooner will just make you feel so much better rather than weeks and weeks of wondering what is going on down there.

This thread was a lifesaver for me when I was pg last time. Haven't used it much yet as, well, having the same worries I did last time so don;t feel that I have anything new to say.....with 4 m/cs behind me now I feel like a thread veteran :snigger:

But, you're right, it is hard to join in the first tri chat when you've had a m/c. I don't read that thread at all now - hearing about other people's symptoms just sends me into a panic when I don;t have any myself.
One day at a time....

Cheers ladies

Jensqui, I know what you mean about the symptoms, I feel like I'm on edge all the time waiting for them to kick in (as yet they haven't!) You're absolutely right, one day at a time is the best way to deal with things. I do find it sad that we don't feel able to get as excited as we should though. I'll keep xfingers that everything works out for you this time - goodness knows you deserve it.

Elvis - I'm still shocked to be here! I was sure we got everything wrong last month! The CCK must have done the trick right enough :snigger:
How's it going with you? Can't be long till your next scan now?

Glad you've got a scan Moogle, hoping the three weeks will whizz by for you!

Jen - happy to see you back here, i know you dont like lots of congrats but everything crossed here for you and hoping that in 30 weeks you're thinking every twinge could be your waters breaking instead of the 'knicker watch' of the first trimester.

I didn't post on a trimester thread until i got to the third and am still in a bit of denial now, i dont think it will go until i'm holding my baby (and then i'll be checking its breathing every minute)

sticky vibes to you all :)

Hey Girls
hope you are all keeping well, Sarah I see from your ticker you only have 30 days left !! wow...I think I would be the same as you, anxious until I actually hold the baby...best of luck to you over the next few weeks.

Moogle - its mad we are both on this thread now!! its exciting too though, I go from being excited, to being in denial, to being worried, etc etc, I told my GP I was anxious to get to 12 weeks this time and he said "welcome to the world of pregnancy, which equals the world of anxiety!!"....not very helpful eh! It was so funny, he actually shook my hand to congradulate me!! so stiff and formal...Thankfully my consultant is a bit more understanding, hes more of a hugger lol....have scan next week, I have to phone him (cant believe I have his mobile!!) and he will arrange to fit me in on Mon or Wed..so will let you know how I get on...Take care and take each day as it comes.
Good luck to everyone else

Elvis, your GP and your consultant both sound mad - but lovely! I think mine are a bit too old school for any displays of emotion  Can't wait to hear how you get on next week, that's great that they're so understanding.

I had a wee bit of a panic yesterday as I woke up to find that my only symptom (sore boobs) was gone. But they seem to be aching again nicely today so am feeling much more positive now. I wish I could just fast-forward 2 weeks!

Best wishes to you all

hi everyone!

My first scan is on Tuesday - I'll be 6 weeks and 3 days. I;ve never had a scan this early. Peased that we will be finding out sooner rather than later if something is wrong but, obviously, so nervous about going through the actual scan. Just can't imagine that it will go anything but badly and remember only too well that hideous sinking feeling when they say something is wrong. Not too surprising I guess, when the last time was only a few months ago.

still have no symptoms other than full boobs. just wish I had something to make me think that this pregnancy was going to progress differently to the others

hope you are all having a nice weekend

Yes, mega good luck for Tuesday Jen, will be thinking about you and keeping everything crossed that this one will stay put. Have some of these dear: :sticky:

I've no symptoms yet either, except for sore boobies (5 and a half weeks now), and am just wishing I'd start feeling really sick or something! Am going to try and see my GP this week as my eczema has broken out and I've got a delightful rash of cold sores, and of course steroid creams and Zovirax are off-limits, so hoping there's something they can suggest. 2 weeks off work would definitely help! xfingers

Take care all xxxx

Hey Girls
Hope you are all good...Jen - best of luck with your scan today....hope it goes well, am thinking about you...

Sarah hope you are really nesting at the minute!!

Moogle how did you get on at the doctors?

Cant believe I was 10 weeks yesterday!! and would you believe that my midwife appt came through for next Thursday along with another appointment for the Regional Fertility Centre for our first IVF consultation !! How mad is that....it felt so good ringing to cancel the appt and telling the random person who answered the phone that I didnt need it because I am pregnant !!!

Have scan tomorrow and am slightly anxious about this, still have the nausea but the sickness has eased off and am trying not to think of my m/c as it happened around this time before. Will let you all know how I get on.
Take care

Elvisnniamh - hope your scan went well today

Moogle - how did you get on at the docs?

as you can see, my scan was positive today - heartbeat seen and CRL of 5mm so all looks good. Feel relieved that something is going on in there but will be so much more reassured if the 8 week scan is okay

Jensqui, that's fantastic news that the little un's doing well - glad you don't have to wait too long for the next scan.

Elvis, good luck with your scan hun. It must be hard when you get close to the time of a previous loss - just remember this time it's different and all the signs so far have been good. You're probably just passed the worst of the sickness now you lucky thing!

That must've been so satisfying cancelling the IVF appointment :D

I went to the see the doc this morning and it was a fill-in as the local GP is on holiday, so he didn't know my background. I actually thought he was being rather unsympathetic until I noticed him scribbling away a sick-line for me citing "pregnancy related problems" - guess I'm going to have to tell the boss now! Which is for the best as I work in a lab and am expected to work with all sorts of nasties. Am now sitting here finally feeling very queasy, which is totally my fault as instead of making some nice lunch at 12.30 I decided to head off for a snooze and have just woken up. So now - food!

Take care all

Hey Girls

Jen - fab news about your scan...hope the next few weeks go quickly and well!!

Moogle - finally feeling very queasy - Yipee - thats great news....Every time I had my head down the toliet a voice in my head said "thank god, thank god" weird to be grateful in that position....

Have to ring my consultant in the morning and he will then tell me when he can fit me in for a scan, I then have an official appt with him on Tues the 26th of May so not long to wait and see him then.

Take care

Hey Elvis, did you get a scan date sorted out?

Jen, can't be long till your 8 week scan now :D

I've been getting a little more sqeamish every day, so hoping that's a good sign. I felt so lousy over the weekend that I even missed my best mate's annual Eurovision party - gutted! Although I wouldn't have been able to bevvy anyway. First scan is on Friday morning so am feeling excited but very nervous. DH isn't looking forward to it at all, he says he just keeps seeing that image from last time. Well, just 4 more days and then we'll know.

Hope you are all well xxxxx

Hey Girls
Hope you are all good..
Moogle - Good luck with the scan on Friday, I totally empathise with you...I feel like that every scan !! I dont think it will really sink in until I actually see a baby in the scan...we had a scan last wed...and it literally took 3 minutes...baby looked like an alien head !!! DH wasnt impressed when I mentioned that lol...but at least it put my mind at ease when the doc said all was looking good...I see the midwife this Thursday and then scan next Tuesday....I will be 12 weeks on Friday and its my parents wedding anniversary so we are all heading out for dinner....we hope to tell my family then if all goes well with the midwife on Thursday...does anyone know if she will listen to the heartbeat ?? says on the letter appt will be at least an hour !!!

Thats all my news....take care girls

I take it this is your booking appointment? With mine I was 12 weeks 5 days and they didn't listen to the heartbeat, its a bit early to find it tbh so they tend not to try until about 16 weeks when its easier to find. The reason the appointment is so long is because they go through all your details and relevant medical history of you and your family. They give you loads of stuff to read and have a chat about things, you'll be weighed and have bloods taken too.

Good luck hun and I hope your appointment and scan next week go well.

Hey ladies, are you all looking forward to the long weekend?

I'm off for a week's holiday now - we were supposed to be walking the West Highland Way (backpacking) but funnily enough that's not happening now! Scan was perfect today - I was so nervous and thinking the worst, but seeing that amazing little heartbeat just blew us away! DH is calling baby the peanut just now, but I think he/she looks more like Pacman! Obviously it's still early days, but am reassured by the fact that we're already a step ahead of last time.

Elvis - how did your midwife appointment go? Hope you have a lovely night out with your family tonight - they're going to be so thrilled to hear your news!

Jen, hope you're enjoying your holiday and getting a wee bit of sunshine and chill out time. Best of luck with the next scan.

Take care all xxxx

only just caught up with this thread - so pleased all went well at your scan Moogle.

Elvis - how'd the midwife appt go?

my 8 1/2 week scan is tomorrow. I've had a lot of morning sickness in the last 2 weeks so feeling more confident than I ever have done before. Really hope I don't get a terrible shock tomorrow.

Hey Girls
Hope you are all well...
Moogle how did your scan go on the 22nd?? Hope went well...
Jen - so glad things are going well for you...
Midwife Appt went well - Polly you were right it was just a booking appt - I left with a mountain of info to read especially when I said I was considering breast feeding, she went into hyperdrive!!

Had our 12 week scan last week and it was amazing...the baby was moving so much and actually looked like it was waving!!! Also told our family last friday and everyone was thrilled for us...lots of tears!!

Back to doc for another scan at the end of month - cant wait for it....still have the nausea but hope its starting to ease a bit - fingercrossed !!

Take care and enjoy the good weather this weekend!!
