Hi Girls,

Thought i would join in here now if you don't mind.

I am in the very early stages- haven't even got to OTD yet!!!!

So I miscarried my first ever pregnancy in May so am very worried at the moment but trying to stay relaxed.

Getting through one stage at a time at the moment.

Getting through this weekend with no bleeding will be good, then got OTD on Tuesday then get through Christmas and it will be scan time.

So one small step at a time.

Hi Gemma
just wanted to say hi! and best of luck, one piece of advice my consultant gave me that i repeat to myself daily(hourly!) is that even after a miscarriage, statistically you are more likely to carry the baby to term than have another miscarriage, fingers crossed that is true for all of us on this thread.

What a positive mantra Sarah - thank you.

I'm extra worried as sis and mum have both had recurrent m/c. So a positive affirmation is just what I need.

And Gemma hunni. I am so happy for you. What amazing news. :D

All still ok so far. DH and I had some gentle rudies this morning and then I spent all day worrying. :O but had nothing in terms of spotting or extra cramps... phew.

I was very tired today. But that was probably more to do with being up late last night and awake first thing! So I had a nap on my mum's sofa this afternoon, only to be woken up by my nephew diving on top of me!!

Hi Girls,

Just a quick question.

I have sharp pains in my lower belly on the left hand side.

Had them about 5 or 6 days on and off.

Should I be worried about them?

They are nothing like a/f pains and I am worried about them.x

Gemma

I'm getting all kinds of stabbing and jabbing pains all over the place. I'm not thinking about it too much, and putting some of it down to ovaries still settling, scar tissue maybe being pulled, and perhaps just some of the general changes that are occurring down there! xfingers

Thanks CB,

I hope so hun. Might feel more relaxed if they felt like A/F pains but with them stabbing it worries me.

Phoned the doctors today to ask them what the next step is and they have booked me in to see the midwife tomorrow. Never in a million years thought it would be that soon!!!!!

I will ask her about the pains.x

HI Gemma,

I've been having similar pains on my right hand side. They were at their peak at the end of last week but I haven't really had them over the weekend. I'm sure it is just everything stretching down there. If there's no spotting to accompany them then I am not going to worry!

wow - can't believe you are seeing the midwife tomorrow. In my PCT area the GPs won't even fill in the form to get midwife care until you reach 8 weeks. The midwife then doesn't see you until you've had your 12 week scan (which, due to the waiting list is often at the 13 - 14 week stage). I know some people who haven't seen a midwife until they've reached 16 weeks!!

At my surgery they won't see you til 12 weeks, in case you forge a relationship with the m/w and something goes wrong! Well that's what they told me last year.

But last year just after the m/c at 9 wks, a midwife came to the house! It was rather distressing - as much for her as us to be honest! She'd just decided to make an unprecedented visit. SO I haven't bothered making an appt with the doc yet. I'm going to wait til after Jan 6th...

Had a fair bit of left hand pain today, so much so it hurt to walk. But it passed. I think its definitely scar tissue pulling round my womb coz they operated on the back of it twice... Well at least that's what I hope it is.

Hi girls,

Can I join you please?! :D This is such a fantastic thread. I'm trying desperately not to be petrified but just can't help it.

I've had one m/c but it was a missed m/c so no blood, not even a spot. I went for a scan at 7 + 6 and no heartbeat and very small. So although, I'm on major knicker watch everytime I go to the loo I'm also worried that the same thing will happen again. I've got my first scan at 7 + 1 (new years eve)

I'm feeling a little bit sick but haven't actually been sick, I've got sore boobs on and off, they haven't grown though. My tummy and pelvic area feels really warm!

I am literally taking this day by day and praying so hard.

Hi Danielle hunni and welcome. big :hugs:

Yep, I think we're all fairly much in the same boat. Under extreme paranoia! :snigger:

It's sad that previous losses have left us this way, but its only natural every twinge and symptom and NON symptom will add to our misery! I'm feeling the same, had a bit of nausea but not too much, boobs ache on and off... abdomen feels hot and a bit "draggy". Just enough to comfort me, but also enough to worry me! :loony: times ahead.

Positive Scan

Hi,

Was directed to this site and reading all the threads is making me realise that I am not on my own. I was going through icsi and m/c at 6 weeks in May this year, our second attempt of icsi was a success and I had my first scan today all seems ok 6 weeks and 2 days ... but I am in a state of shock ... I keep thinking something is going to go wrong ... definitely knicker checking ... i thought I would feel more calm once today was over but it's more anxiety ...am so scared if something goes wrong .. currently looking at my scan picture and it's definitely feeling like a little miracle. Also bought my first pregnancy book ... oh my god ... so much to take in ....

Morning ladies,

how is everyone today. I've only just got up! Didn't realise what the time was :tired:

I was awake most of the night, lots going round in my head, and lots going on down there too! Again it feels very warm down there, is that increased blood flow to my uterus?

Also, I don't have pains but feelings down there. Is that normal, I don't remember having that so much last time. Maybe it's a good sign this time. ?(

Oh I wish I could relax and enjoy this amazing event in my life.

Hi Nicola and welcome.

Well Jensqui I have concluded that I don't really have any symptoms at all anymore either. :headache Maybe boobs aching a bit but that's all.

And I can't help being paranoid, coz I remember posting a thread...exactly year ago asking about disappearing symptoms... Oh dear, I'm sorry but I am feeling rather low about all of this today. The nurse said my progesterone level was satisfactory? WTF does that mean exactly?? My other results won't be back til Monday, when they can be compared.

Part of me wishes I hadn't had the bloods done, but the other part of me wants to know if I need to prepare myself for bad news at the scan on Jan 6th...

Sorry to be such a misery guts on Christmas Eve.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas time. :xmas2:

Hi CB, I'm feeling a bit like that too today. :tear:

I just rang the doctors surgery to speak to a dr about the weird feelings I've got going on down there I'm so worried. He said it didn't ring any alarm bells and that a missed miscarriage is quiet rare so not to worry. I'm still petrified though and feeling really odd.

Well it happened to me last year... hence the obsession and paranoia. I'm ashamed to admit that I'm sat here crying :tear: Feeling quite sorry for myself and absolutely sh!tt!ng a brick.

I phoned the surgery back and the nurse told me my progesterone level was 190 but I don't know what that means in reference to anything else?? Coz it doesn't tally with anything I've read??

And I'm also thinking more and more about my first -ve and then testing +ve 48hrs later. What does this mean in terms of my embryos? Does it mean they are weak? They were late implanters?? And how will that affect my blood tests??

oh hun, I've been sat here in tears too!

I think your first -ve test just showed that your hcg levels were lower and then for your to test 48 hours later and get a +ve means your levels are rising. That's a good thing.

I have just been giving myself afirm talking to and a verbal slap round the chops. NO!

It's Christmas day tomorrow and it's a time for everyone to feel happy, we have been blessed with our wonderful BFP's and so we've must be thankful and grateful for that.
By being down in the dumps we're passing negative vibes to our little ones and that's not good. We've GOT to think positively for their sakes and try our best to keep our chins up (and I know that's v v v v hard at the mo, mine is tear stained) but we don't have a choice. Being negative isn't helping anyone, most of all us.

It's Christmas, we're pregnant and that's fantastic.

xxxxxxxx

Sorry that sounded a bit sergeant major, it wasn't meant to be harsh, just trying to be as positive as possible in this situation. :hugs:

It didn't sound harsh Danielle, it sounded sensible. I wish I could help you girls and make you smile today. I hope you don't mind me popping in here even though I'm not actually pregnant myself, I just really feel for you all and want to give you all a big hug. x

Oh CB, you keep calm there sweetheart. Try not to speculate about that early test. Who is to say that if you'd tested 12 hours later on the same day you wouldn't have got a +ve then (i.e. HCG levles risen enough in that period)? As Danielle say, the only thing we can say for certain about the difference in those 48 hours is that your HCG levels must have risen. I'm afraid I don;t know anything about progesterone levels either but if the nurse wasn't worried then there is no reason for you to be!
Your reducing symptoms right now are likely to be because the tx drugs are finally out of your system.

remember ladies that these are different pregnancies. It is hard but there is no reason to suspect that the same will happen this time round as previously.

I know that I would just feel so much better if I had some symptoms. I am getting cramps down below and a couple of spots have appeared on my face. Pretty usual symptoms for AF being about to arrive!!! I don;t feel I'm being negative - I don;t necessarily think that I am going to miscarry right now, but I just can't imagine it being alright either!

Hi Ros and Jens,

Thanks for popping in Ros, you have a calming influence you know, I always feel a lot better when you're around. blowkiss

Jens, you're right every pregnancy is different. I've got spots too!

:cheers2: Right, it's bloody Christmas and I'm going to try to cheer up. I'm going to hang my washing up, get out of my dressing gown and just be normal.

Have a great Christmas girls, I'll probably be on later if not over the next couple of days

Hi everyone and welcome to Nicola and Danielle!

SPOTS - oh my god! my skin has never been so bad! Saw the midwife on monday, she was running late so by the time she called me i was sat in the waiting room crying, convinced everything had ended! It seems so irrational but i still can't relax about it all. She said during pregnancy skin and hair are greasier (nice) hence the 8 chins i appear to have. She heard the heartbeat (thankyou god) and i've recorded it on my phone so i can listen when i am feeling negative.

I do feel that by now i should be enjoying things but i dont seem to be able to 'let go' and still have some of the same feelings i had at 5,6,7,8 weeks. If anything at least at those times i was being scanned so regularly that i had small goals to get to. After 12 weeks you're pretty much left till 20 weeks which is a long time to go when you're as obsessive as me!

Jen and Danielle, i had cramps early on too, i think we've been prodded so much that it does take a while for everything to settle down. I then had a week or so of no symptoms, prepared for the worst then started feeling sick. hopefully you girls have only got another week or so before the pregnancy hormones get stronger and you start having symptoms. With regard to spots my midwife also said that if you are prone to a few b4 your af then its likely you will get them at similar times through pregnancy so please dont see it as a negative sign.

Wishing you and your BFP's a lovely Christmas and try and keep that positive energy going
lots of love

Sorry to hear you still don't feel like you can relax Sarah
Hopefully once you start to feel the baby moving around you'll be reassured on a daily basis and so won't need the medical profession to help with that so much. I hope you see what I mean!

Thanks for trying to reassure us about cramps....unfortunately mine was a natural conception so I can't blame it on being poked and prodded. I do know that the cramps are normal so am not particularly worried about them unless I see blood when I wipe. When I have miscarried before the intensity of cramps hasn't changed until the blood has started to come so I know the cramps I am feeling now mean nothing.
Funnily enough I tend to get more spots around ov than AF and, if I wasn't pg, I wuld be ov'ng about now!

hope everyone is enjoying Xmas xx

i can relate to all these feelings .. I am currently on "knicker watch" .. tomorrow will be 7 weeks but i have no symptoms of pregnancy .. no morning sickness, aversions to anything .. my boobs are slightly bigger but that's it and i feel sleepy but I don't know if that's the stress of the treatment catching up on me!! If I hadn't seen my little one I would be having serious doubts.

I am taking the crinone gel twice a day at the moment which makes me feel quite bloated and am having some funny sensations.

When does it start getting easier?

Hi girls, hope everyone is ok and had a good day yesterday.

I slept for England and didn't wake up until 11am! I obviously needed it!

Had a few tears this morning as it was at this stage last time that it all went wrong but I didn't find out until my 8 weeks scan. I am feeling more positive about this pregnancy even though it doesn't stop me from feeling worried all the time.

Right, we've got family coming over in an hour and I'm still in my PJ's and the house is a mess. Really can't be bothered but hey.

Hi girls!

I love my pjs Danielle - I'd go to work in them if I could!

I've had a good couple of days, thoughts-wise. Been fairly busy so haven't been worrying too much. By the time I return home to Edinburgh tomorrow I will be almost 7 weeks. I don't go back to work until Jan 6th - the day I turn 8 weeks. I'll call the EPU again on Tuesday to try and arrange my early scan - hopefully they can fit me in for Jan 6th / 7th. Didn't manage to speak to anyone this week (they did call back and left a message on the answerphone) and don't want to bother them over the next couple of days because I bet they are really busy with Xmas emergency calls.

Hope that you are all well and feeling positive x

Hi all! :bye: Well had a lovely time over Christmas very very relaxing.

Mum was ill on Christmas day (we're on high alert after her stay in intensive care on life support last new year) so dad did us proud with a fabulous turkey dinner, bless him.

Did some nice walking and general lazing about. Obviously had my darker moments and did have a cry today.

It was quite pathetic, I'd choppe dthe end of BIL's crossiant at brekkie this morning and then promptly started a laughing fit when he spotted it... it then turned into a hysterical crying fit which I couldn't stop. This was at the breakfast table. Luckily it was in front of my sisters who know I'm a bit loopy on a normal day - let alone stressed in early pg! :whoops:

Had no real symptoms still... boobs sore ish and the only other thing is I'm quite tired, but to be honest I've been so lazy i'm not surprised. :innocent: But this evening I am having strong-ish AF type cramps and worried coz this morning I had yellowish CM discharge????

~Going out for dinner this eve, and while i'm looking forward, I'd much rather be staying on the sofa with DH!

Hope you're all doing ok so far today.

Hi Girls,

Sounds like everyone's had a nice Christmas. ( DH bought me Take That tickets!!! I'm so excited, except I'll be 7 months preggie so I'll have to see nearer the time if I'm up for going)

CB, you poor old thing having a crying fit at the breakfast table. I know just how you feel. DH was about to make a very moving speech on Christmas Day to thank our families for all the support and I kept interrupting him on purpose as I was about to burst into tears. :bawl: He then got cross with me when we were doing the washing up and I cried anyway! Just can't win!

I've been having a few really sharp pains over the last two days. The pain lasts for a few seconds then goes. I've had about two yesterday and one today (when I was driving :8o:) I've not had any bleeding with it. Should I be worried or is this just my body stretching down there?

Trying really hard to stay positive! You girls are certainly helping me, thank you blowkiss

DH and I are taking my 4 year old niece to the theatre tomorrow to see 'Room on the Broom'. Really looking forward to that. xxx

Danielle- I have had loads of sharp pains.

A lot of people have said they have had a/f pains but mine aren't that they are sharp.

Can they tell at this point whether the pg is ectopic cause I am really worried that mine is?

Gemma hun, I had sharp pains in my side (like someone was stabbing me) up until the beginning of this week. I just put it down to something going on around my ovary as with my 2nd pg I had throbbing pains there and there was a cyst. Is perfectly normal to get a cyst during pg. Obviously don't know if the same for you but having had your ovaries stimulated they are bound to be causing a bit of fuss settling down again. It would be too early for ectopic pains right now but if you are still having them in a week or so time and are worried seek medical advice.

CB - the discharge is perfectly normal. I have it - all wet and gushy and makes me check for blood. Most pg women experience this.

The pains are likely to be stretching. If you have pains alone don't worry lladies. Tis only when accompanied by blood or spotting that I will allow any of us to panic :P

I've been feeling tired but not sure if that is just because it is prtty tiring looking after my poor dad. I'll be able to tell more when I return to Edinburgh later today.

Hi Gem,

I think they probably could tell if it was ectopic if they do an internal scan as they could check your tubes. Where are you getting the pains, to one side or in the middle?

Mine have been right in the middle, right between my legs!

Ring your dr tmr if you're really worried hun. xxx

Ectopic pains are different and they are so strong you would know there's something wrong.

It could be your ovaries. You had lots of eggs they need time to settle again.

I'm ok danielle thanks, just worried it'll go wrong. I'm sure we all feel the same in this thread. I want to pass the 7 weeks and get my scan and hopefully see a little heart or two!
