I'm the same as you Amoona - so I'm not going to get one either!
Chris - it's good to hear from you and your comments are really helpful. I don't really have a midwife as such yet because you always see different people at the hospital so I haven't got anyone to ring about it. I'm a bit worried as I haven't felt any movement and I am almost 18 weeks now - I do have a little bit of a bump but it is small and people haven't noticed (you wouldn't see it unless you saw me with a bare belly!). The baby measured fine at just over 16 weeks so I'm hoping that I'm just one of those people who don't show much until near the end. My 20 week scan is still 2 weeks away and it seems like ages! Someone even asked me if I'd lost weight (in the face) last week! Should I be worried?

Hey Girls
Im exactly the same about the doppler...im a raving looney without it and think I would become completely obsessed!!!!

Dizzyd, my baby has measured 2 weeks bigger in size and although I am 27 weeks someone in work last week told me I looked like I had lost weight!!! They didnt even know I was pregnant....I wouldnt worry about it though, and as for the movement it really varies, my GP even told me I "should" be feeling movement at 20 weeks and I didnt have anything for a good while after that....

My 3d scan has been moved forward to tomorrow instead of Wed, will let you know how I get on....

Take care

Hey Girls
Kel - they advised me that around 27 weeks is the best time for the 3D scan, I just cant stop looking at the pics and the DVD...

Amoona - good luck with your scan tomorrow, you will be able to see so much more at 16 weeks, remember not to go to the loo just before it, as thats what I did at my 16 week scan and they couldnt see very much at all !!

Hey Girls
Gosh its gone quiet on here!! How is everyone keeping?
Things with me are fine, altough I was at hospital last week with pain in my side which apparently was the baby lying on my Kidney!! Thankfully she moved after a few days of pain and now i am back to feeling okay again.

Hope everyone is doing okay

Hi all
Had my 20 week scan today - was keeping a bit quiet til that was over. All was fine, I'm glad to say. Definitely a boy, with all dangly bits present and correct! Everything looked good - apparently I have a low placenta which might move up but I am to be scanned again at 34 weeks to see. If it stays low it would mean a c-section, which is fine by me. I can't tell you how relieved I am! I am finally starting to think that this is really going to happen.
Hope everyone else is OK

Great news DizzyD so glad for you honey!!! I am ok, had some bad news that hubby may need an urgent 5th back op! GREAT! will know more next week, luckily we have private cover so he should be recovered by the time LO arrives, but has really upset us both.

He will be the main carer so we need to get him right.

Hope all is ok for everyone else? I am going to have a 3D scan hopefully as long as DH is ok xx

hope everyone else is keeping okay...please give me some sympathy...its Arthur Guinness birthday and our local is serviing free guinness for an hour from 1759 (the year of his birth) and then pints are 2.50 euro, (250 yrs since birth!), as my DH is a Guinness drinker its his idea of heaven!! i on the other hand will have to collect him and his friend later!!!!!!!!! I will then have to listen to him drunkenly talking to my bump!!! Are there such things as Fetal Ear plugs any one?????????? LOL

I'm finding it hard going dealing with other people being drunk and not having anything myself!
I think I may have actually felt something moving at last! A couple of days ago I started to feel some little flutterings - nothing major, but I've had bad wind all the way through and this is a new feeling. Day by day, it feels a little more real .....
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.

Hey Dizzy...I know exactly where you are coming from....drunk people can be annoying at the best of times ...lol...but i do miss the odd glass of wine or a beer, I know some people do have the odd one, but Ive decided not to have anything and I have done this long without I can keep going!! Its also great that you have started to feel some movements, its all so amazing !!

Have been having some bother sleeping lately, have pains in my pelvis/hips and its so uncomfortable at times, I hate to be moaning, as I am delighted to be pregnant!! Just trying to grin and bear it at the minute...

Hi Suzy,
I also had some itchiness on my stomach.I just applied stretch marks lotion and the itchiness went away...

DizzyD,
Did the Dr. give you any instructions to help placenta move up.. because even though my Dr. was not concerned at this stage, ppl around me keep giving me advices and scaring me!!

No I haven't had any advice. I thought it either moved or it didn't and there wasn't anything you could do to affect it, as that is where it has implanted. I guess the moving up must be when your uterus grows. Not really sure tho.

DizzyD thanks for your message. DH op gone ok as far as we can tell and he should hopefully be out today. However he may have another op before LO comes!!! which to be honest I could do without the stress, but... I much prefer him to get it out of the way before my due date!!! x

Hey Girls
Hope you are all okay, had a groin strain last week, and it was so painful!! Doc thought it was SPD but thankfully it seems to have cleared up with rest, I was walking like I poo'd myself for a few days!!!

Started my ante natal classes on tuesday night and to tell you the truth it was a total wasted journey as the midwife had a sore throat and only kept us for a half an hour introducing us to the signs of labour!! Before the class DH asked did he have to wear trainers !! LOL...I dont know what sort of class he thought he was going to!!

Rosebud - glad DH has the first op over, am sure is pretty stressful for you and am sure he doesnt like being off his feet either!! Hope he is on the mend soon.

Hey to everyone else
Take care

hello ladies!! sorry I haven't been around much.

Yes, most placentas do 'move up' if they are low-lying though I don't think there is anything you can do to encourage that.

Hello all,

would you mind if I joined you? i've had a read of the early posts but then had to jump t the last couple of pages as I'm at work and don't want anyone to notice! I'm way behind most of you - only got the BFP yesterday but it's the 4th one in 3 years. hence I'm having all those anxious thoughts that I'm sure you have had. I'll only get really tense though when I reach the 8 wk mark - that's when i had both of my mm/cs. the one question I wanted to ask is - is it OK to have sex? We haven't done it in 3 weeks and I really want to! (TMI?). My clinic is in Alicante in Spain, and they are not the quickest at answering questions..

Congratulations Queenzebra and welcome! It's only natural to feel so anxious, especially around the point it all went wrong before. I was a nervous wreck! As for sex, I think there are mixed views on this and no hard and fast rules. I didn't dare until about 12 weeks or so, as I was so worried about doing anything to make things go wrong, and for me that was the right thing to do. It shouldn't do any harm, but you just have to ask yourself if something did go wrong would you be forever asking yourself if that was why. See what your clinic says, but is there a midwife at your local GP or hospital who could give you some advice more quickly?
Good luck!

Congratulation Queenzebra :)
It's natural to feel anxious at this stage (well maybe all through pregnancy if your the worry type like me) but always remember one thing which I was adviced with by one of the girls here.. Each pregnancy is different..

Regarding sex, I have been adviced by my Dr. not have sex until I completed 12 weeks.. I think its best to see what your clinic says.

Wish you best of luck

Hey Queenzebra
Congrats! Great news, but like the other girls have said, its completely normal to be anxious after experiencing loss, with regards to sex, I also was like Amoona and DizzyD, I held off until the 12 week mark as I was paranoid that I would do something to cause another m/c...hope things continue to progress well for you,
Best of luck

thanks all, for the advice. I think you are right. I'm seeing the GP tomorrow so will ask. I think the DH is as anxious as I am to make sure we don't do anything to jeopardise anything. First scan booked for 28th Oct, so fingers crossed all is well. It's not my eggs OR the DH's sperm, so feeling like it's going to be completely different from past BFPs. For the better I hope.
