Travel Insurance

Am going away to Spain in just over 5 weeks and haven't sorted out insurance, has anyone used any good insurers for pregnant ladies before?

I think we were with direct line or possibly tesco when I was up the duff. I don't think you should have to pay a lot more, you're not ill! Where are you going?

How lovely, a holiday where you can lie on a sun lounger and read all day! And what you read can be Marian Keyes or Douglas Kennedy, not The Very Hungry Caterpillar or Poppy Cat! Enjoy it won't you. Next year you will be wondering how to fit nappies into your case along with 14 pairs of tiny shorts and T shirts!

All the major ones will be fine and check but most insurers don't charge any more or see being pregnant as a problem if your less than 24 weeks.

Have a fab time xxx

I used my normal amex travel insurance. They are very good at sorting out emergencies.
If you have an american express card then phone them to check it out.
Just remember to take your notes.

Thought I would update this as I was quite surprised to find lots of insurance co now won't cover your pregnancy if you have less than 18weeks before delivery (most used to be 8wks). I did find that sainsbury's were 12 weeks and they were happy to insure us for the pregnancy.

Teresa natwest wouldn't cover us for the pregnancy even tought the holiday was covered.

Spain has got very good health care anyway and is in the EU so as long as you have got your EU travel medical card you should be ok anyway.
If you haven't got it you can order your EHIC card online:
http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Healthcare/Healt…llers/index.htm

If you haven't got your card in time they can give you a phone and fax number plus your reference number and the hospitals will sort that between them.
If you haven't got the card you will have to pay the full amount.

I have taped all our cards into the passports so they are always with us.
