How many ultrasound scans did you have

Hi girls, so far in my pregnancy I have had 2 internal scans and 2 ultrasounds, have another ultrasound booked on Monday at 14 weeks which will be my third. Doc has arranged this cause of the problems i have had, just wondered how many were safe to have, dh dosn't want me having too many cause he's scared it will be harmful

RE: How many ultrasound scans did you have

Hello lovely

I don't know how many is the 'norm' but during my last pregnancy I had LOADS because I wasn't very well and they kept wanting to check on the baby. I had them daily during the last week of my pregnancy! And before that I think it was between every 2-4 weeks.

RELAX!

x

Ultrasound scans aren't known to carry any risk at all as the image is produced using sound waves too high pitched for the human ear to hear, therefore causing no known damage.

HI Jane

I had 3 internals in the early days and then a scan every 3 to 4 weeks because I had twins.
They're both absolutely fine and I had a reasonably trouble free pregnancy as well.
Don't worry. Well not about this anyway. You'll be worrying about loads of other stuff. :D

I too have had quite a few -

6weeks - internal (fertility clinic)
7weeks - internal (fertility clinic)
10weeks - external (private reasurance)
13weeks - external (NT)
16weeks - booked in for private gender scan
20weeks - booked for regular NHS scan
then hospital suggested its normal to have them every 4weeks from then on.

I also use my doppler 2x per week

Hospital are aware of all of this and totally happy. Some people have them weekly in the last couple of months and sometimes daily or every other day towards the end (espec with identicals)

Hope that helps
