Names

We have finally decided on a name for our new little fella - I think!!!

DH wanted a scottish name and actually wanted to call the baby Hamish - I don't mind the name but wouldn't use it as a first name so have compromised and am using it as a middle name -- so Callum's little brother is going to be called Gregor Hamish Blue.

Come on girls - what names have you guys decided on or short listed?

Lovely names - at least you have a choice - that is the only name DH and I can agree on. I really like Zac and Max and DH doesn't [zx082]

because she is weighing herself, and it suits as I am a fat bloater at the moment!

Boys names are hard to pick, is Blue your surname? as I love the name Blue.

Chilli - I've saw your bump photos and you are anything but a fat bloater - it's all baby.

Yip Blue is my surname - which makes it harder to get something that can't get shortened and sound really silly

take care

Love the names girls.. Chilli, Ulkrika Johnsons little girl is called Bo and she is a right cutie!! Bluey, our choice for a boy was Zack - I like the name Hamish though, I love original names but Dp wouldn't let me have anything too out there! We love the name Lauren though - it really suits her! Chilli was actually the reason I had picked the name as I had never really thought about it until I saw hers!!! :D

We had picked Nathaniel Peter for a boy, but as that went out the window, we have now picked Rhiannon Fae.

Before we knew we were having a girl the list went:

Boy:
Thor
Hamish
Angus
Stanley

Girl:
Tabitha
Mathilda
Elsie

I'm trying hard not to fix her name yet - going to wait until she's here and see what suits best.

We have our hearst set on Max for a boy and Walter after DHs grandad for a middle name. For a girl we like Molly but we can't think of a middle name. I really want something of my mum name which was Barbara Mary, Mary is my middle name too, but I don't think either go with Molly very well. Still thinking. Hope its a boy, it will save us having to make a decision!

What about Marie or Maria instead of Mary. They are other versions of it. We were thinking of Faith, but decided that Fae sounded better and is just another version of it.

We've already picked our names! I'm sure they may change but here goes:-

Girl = Sian Elizabeth

Boy = John

Girls is mine & DH name put together & my mum's name. boys is mine & DH's dad's name. Not too sure about a boys middle name if we have one at all.

Well we chose Georgia Marie for a girl at first, but lots of people have commented on Georgia as DH is called George and people are assuming we are calling her that after him and I don't want that. Georgia is just a very pretty name and reminds me of my Dad and the song "Georgia on my mind".

So we think we are going to go with Chloe Victoria. Chloe was our second choice, we also like Kaitlyn but dont want it to be shortened to Kate. I love the name Kaitlyn.

But we too are going to have another little think and have a few names in mind and decide when she is here, although Chloe is looking favourite.

If we had a boy we chose Louis (pronounced Louie), Nathan, and I can't even remember the others now, but I love Callum and Cameron too.

When I told my husband what she'd said he asked what her name was and then told me to tell her it was a Labrador's name LOL! If she upsets me again I might just do that :D

Indigo was the first name I chose for our little girl but my best friend had a pretty similar reaction to yours which stopped me in my tracks. People can be very thoughtless. I'd NEVER pass comment on someone else's choice (well not to there face anyway ha ha), its just not nice.

The horrible girl from work has made me doubt our choice and I'm quite upset about that as I htought it was a beautiful name. DH thinks I'm mad to give it a second thought - he's probably right!

Thats why we changed our fav name from Georgia to Chloe as too many people making comments that we didnt like. I know we should stick with it as she is our daughter and its up to us but I just don;t like it.

Its not that they didnt like the name, its cos DH is called George, but if his name was Tom we still would have chosen Georgia, its just a pretty name that we both really like.

So we are not telling people around us anymore, its different on here as people are sensitive to things like that and would not comment even if they didnt like the name.

So it looks like Chloe for us!!

Georgia and Chloe are both beautiful names and which ever one (or even something you haven't yet thought of) you choose in the end will I'm sure suit her very well.

According to baby naming books and websites, Rianna is indeed a name :) I'd heard it somewhere, liked it and went to research it to find its meaning. It's nice to know that when you name your child that it has a good meaning. Connor in particular would be very true: Much Wanted - that he would be if he ever comes along...
