trapped wind type pain at 32 weeks

hi
I'm 32 weeks pregnant (or near enough) and for the last 24 hours have had agonizing trapped wind type pain . I'm not constipated as such and am passing some wind but the pain is terrible. I've spoken to my midwife who said she thinks the head may have engaged which may be causing it. She also said to monitor babys movements which I have and are fine.
I just don't know how to handle the pain and discomfort especially as I'm still at work full time with 6 weeks to go! I've been off work today and will have to stop off tomorrow if I'm the same.
Anyone else had this and what can I do? Help!

Have you tried taking some gaviscon at all? I got huge bottles on prescription from GP when i was pregnant and got through loads of the stuff, i found it really did help.

I get this. Things that help me are gaviscon to some extent, peppermint tea, getting down on the floor on my hands and knees (sexy I know) and sitting on my birthing ball gently rotating my hips.

I have been getting the most excruciating bowel type pains, even though I'm not constipated, and have found that only a hot water bottle eases it. I was ready to rush to hospital a few weeks ago as I was in such agony, but the hottie bottie saved me! I think the heat helps to relax all the muscle in there and stop the constrictions which causes these types of pains.
