A quick question re hospital bag

Just wondering when are we supposed to get one ready?

I don't want to do one too early, but then again don't want to be rushing around at the last minute.

All suggestions/thoughts greatly appreciated!

Thanks! With DD being so late last time, It was never really an issue, although I was probably more organised that time round - this time, I feel very out of control!

I had my baby early- born at 30 weeks and hadn't even THOUGHT about packing a bag....... I would say to just get some bits and bobs ready, even if they aren't "packed" as such. AT least then if there is any problem early you can tell dh/mum/friend/whoever just to grab the pile of stuff and shove it in a bag when the time comes.
I have the sort of dh who when asked " go and fetch me a few overnight things please" comes back with my tatty old slippers, my dressing gown that desperatly needed a wash, some size 10 knickers which i hadn't worn since i dunno when, and a toothbrush. Needless to say i had to send my friend shopping that afternoon :snigger:

Thanks Eeyore - it's a very comprehensive list - more like a hospital suitcase than a bag!! :snigger: :snigger:

The list really is a godsend. I packed mine early for obvious reasons and when arriving at the hospital the MW's looked at me and said 'you're moving in long term then?' :snigger:.

I agree with both Cookie and Rose.

No it really is a hospital suitcase that you need - no kidding!!

I packed what i thought i'd need into an overnight bag and then checked Bells' list and thought 'yep, makes sense to take that.....and that.....and so on and i now have three seperate large bags - One for me, one for the baby and one for my dh :snigger:

Bells must have been a girl guide, she sure knows how to be organised :D
