I bought one off ebay - worked out cheaper than hiring! It had maternity pads with it, and you can use it (or re sell afterwards). Problem with hiring is that you may need it for longer than you think and need to extend the hire.

And I couldn't have coped with the phaff of taking it back in the first few weeks.

Think I paid about 25 quid including postage. I could have got it cheaper in the end, but I just wanted one straight away.

Otherwise, Mothercare, Boots, local chemists and the NCT do hire. Or try your local hospitals - some of them near us hire them.

Cheers

Hi girls,
Vicki, just wanted to let you know that you are not alone now that so many of the girls have had their lovely babies! I am due 20 June, so will keep you company for the last bit, if you want.
Hope you are well, and more ready than me(nursery half painted, furniture delayed, total confusion re:clothes etc!...never mind where we are going to sleep baby when it arrives(unsure moses basket or travel cot with basinette...yes after 35w I should have decided, but...no!)Wonder where in this pregnancy I lost my mind? Am quite enjoying la-la land, where I seem to spend most of my time!
Keep smiling, you are near the end now!
Ashley

Ah thanks Ashley, its so good to know I am not alone. I have a feeling I will go over too so you could still go before me, ther is only 10 days between us hun.

We have everything sorted now. Just have to remove a TV and cabinet from our room to put crib in there and remove cabinet downstairs to make room for the travel cot which is what I will use for babys daytime naps and toys and bits and changing while downstairs.

DH has a week off next week and we just bought a Vax so we are going to clean the carpets and furniture as we have a cat and a dog so want it to be clean for baby. I know it will get dirty again, but I guess its part of nesting.

I have a midwife appointment today, am hoping babys head has started to engage, my bump does seem a little lower but not much really. So fingers crossed.

How are you coping?
