It's been good on the ball - I've just been sitting on it at my desk and rocking or doing circles or figures of eight with my hips or bouncing. I don't use it all the time, but for a good while every day. Not sure if it's helping the baby engage or anything, but it's cool.

I have a ball too. It's fab and really helps when you are feeling too uncomfy to just sit as it takes a lot of the pressure off your upper body ie lungs lol.

Yep, I use mine about 2-3 times a day, mainly at night though after my dinner when I feel like I could burst!

I'm having alot of twinges and shooting nerve pains in my pelvic region and the ball helps so much with that.

Great investment and...you can use the ball post pregnancy as an excercise ball.

Hi Olo, Have a quick look through this thread you may find something helpful. I'm sure an exercise ball would be fine. The issue is mostly about your height and the size of the ball.

olo they are the same thing!

Swiss ball or whatever they are called.
I had two different sizes, 65 and 70 (if I remember correctly) but you could always pump the smaller one harder to make it bigger!

My DS was born hanging over the 70cm one :D

Olo,

Just to butt in, I was asking my ABC yoga teacher about the balls a couple of weeks ago and she did mention the birth ones tended to be made out of tougher materials, to withstand the weight and bashing they get during labour - I couldn't imagine a worse time for one to burst than in the middle of a contraction??

Yikes!!!

I used the birthing ball in the first staged of labour - bouncing up and down on it seemed to ease the pain slightly. Glad i asked for it
