Fathers to be - his rights re parentcraft appts

I have posted thisin general pregnancy but as its something that happens during the final trimester thought i would post again as I cant find any info anywhere.

DH has put in a request for a couple of hrs each weds for the next 4 weeks to come with me to the parentcraft classes. His boss has gone mad saying he has to take annual leave.

Are fathers to be not entitled to this like we are??

Vicki

try this link

http://www.dti.gov.uk/er/individual/patrights-pl517a.htm#s2

apparently a father only has rights to paternity leave once the baby is born according to this :(

In my opinion if mothers to be are allowed time off work to attend antenatal classes without taking leave then why on earth can't fathers to be?

It seems very biased to me.

Yes I agree Jen. I am more annoyed cos DH works so many hrs over what he is supposed to and gets no thanks for it. But thats the army for you I guess, they dont understand what supporting your wife is all about!!!
