Bloating or Bump????

Hi

I haven't posted anything on FZ for sometime but I enjoy reading all the handy hints and advice that others receive. I have a question which I hope someone out there can answer. Around the time of our BFP after the 2WW I started to feel like I had a "tummy" and for some weeks I haven't been able to comfortably wear my normal clothes - or at least do the top button up !! I have all the books and read on FZ some comments that it could be because of the Utrogestone pessaries making me bloated or causing water retention I am 11 weeks today (I stop the pessaries in Week 12). Can I now tell my DH that it is not just water retention any more and it is in fact a "bump"!!!

Look forward to your advice.

EmJ,
It's unlikely you would have a bump just yet, as your uterus is only about the size of an orange and is still sat in your pelvis ... over the next few weeks it'll rise out of your pelvis as it grows, and you'll start to develop a small bump clap

Pretty soon you'll be needing help shaving your legs and tying your shoelaces ;)

As you will see from the above comments we all develop our bumps at different rates! Around now your uterus will start to pop out of your pelvis and as this month progresses you will start to feel and see a more rounded defined shape around your tummy area (starting from your pelvis your bump grows upwards to your tummy button)

So as has already been said, whether it is a bump or bloating it is still relevant to your little bubs

I definately showed very early on in all my pregnancies and was well into my maternity wardrobe by about 16 weeks. It's true that you uterus stays tucked away in your pelvis for the first few months, but as it grows it will push everything else upward too, so bloating or bump, it doesn't matter. You will also find you may put on a layer of fat over your tum too and your shape will become generally more round. You will find it impossible to fit into your normal clothes from now on!

7+2weeks and showing???!!!

Hi all, I'm a bit worried, My stomach is getting huge already, My trousers are too tight i didn't think i'd show so early. I'm worried because i haven't had 1st scan yet, it's next Wednesday, I don't even know if theres anything in there, that sounds mad but i'm still disbelieving ALL pg tests. Once i know theres a healthy baby in there then i'll be showing my big belly off to everyone.
Has anyone else showed at 7 weeks? ?(

RE: 7+2weeks and showing???!!!

I'm just 5 and 2 but my tum is a proper round pot belly and my DH thinks it's hilarious! Other girls have suggested to me that maybe it's water retention. Good luck for your scan xxx

Has anyone began to show or look bloated and what was the earliest?

Hi girls,

During my 2ww I bloated. Now, I've just entered my 2 mths and my belly is still showing but the feeling of bloatiness is no more. Anyone else like this?

Hey there.

I didn;t really start showing until I was around 5mths.

Everyone's a tad different dependant on how you carry your weight and what frame you are I guess, I really had Bump Envy for ages!!!

wow 5 months, i take it you are really slim? i am struggling to hide my tummy, am living in baggy jumper dresses and leggings. i think a lot of mine is the amount of drugs i have taken to be honest.

I agree your diet is good!

1. I'm loving Topshop maternity clothing line. Any other fav's?

2. Oh - anyone using any creams and oils for stretch-marks and preventation of any other skin issues during pregnancy? Does anyone recommend starting early?

My tum has just started to harden above my pelvis, your uterus doesn't actually pop above your pelvic bone until 12 weeks, so any sort of bump is usually down to water and your squashed up innards before this stage. With each pregnancy your muscles slack off and don't retain their shape, so in your first pregnancy you can expect a pretty compact bump until the 5 month mark. This is pregnancy number 6 for me, with number 5 I still didn't actually 'show' until 4 months

I have been using bio oil, as I did every day with DD but still looked like I'd been mauled by a tiger at the finish
