willow, yes it was an internal exam, and lasted a good 5 mins too.

maybe this is the cause then.

just trying to think positive

Hi There!

Just to say that I went for a scan at 6weeks and all they could see was the sac, yolk and feotal pole at 2.5mm on one baby and too small on the other. We have just been for our 7 week scan and we clearly saw 2 babies and very strong heartbeats. Also I have had brown spotting intermittently since I got my BFP.

So I can totally understand how you are feeling at the moment - we really built ourselves up for the 6 week scan and when we didn't see a heartbeat were devastated no matter what the doctor said ( at that point it didn't even sink in that there were two of them!)

I hope this helps you - as you can see I have been through something very similar to you. The advice I was given was that if the spotting became red/pink to contact the unit straight away.

Take care of yourself, take it easy - it's really stressful in the first trimester isn't it!!

Hi There!

Just wanted to say a big THANKS for all your advice - which was (of course) absolutely right!! We've just been for our 7 week scan and saw the heartbeats!!! We were totally bowled over by it all!!

Baby No 1 is 8mm and 6 weeks and 6 days and Baby No 2 is 6mm and 6 weeks and 3 days.

We both know that it's an extremely long way off yet - but we are so pleased and relieved to see the heartbeats!
