Weight

Hi

How do I keep my weight down. I've just got a BFP. I gained quite a bit of weight right through DR and then the 2WW. Now, I'm worried that it's bad for the baby.
I don't want to diet because I eat fairly sensibly though I think my snacking gets excessive. What do I do? Any ideas?

RE: Weight

Hiya sweetie ... :bye:

I also put on a bit of weight during my IVF, but found that it all came off (and then some) during the first 12 weeks or so ... I think it's a combination of m/s and the loss of all the water that you've been retaining during the treatment that does it.

I wouldn't worry, most of us are in the same boat ;)

Hi

My stomach was so bloated after tx and had generally put on weight all over (i am normally a size 8) but it did eventually go,in fact i have found that ihave now lost weight as i am unable to eat very much, even though i am starving all the time. I am nearly 8 weeks so just making the most of my slim figure whilst i still have it.

Hi Anu

In addition to the ideas offered by the other ladies, I can tell you that I put on a lot of weight from back-to-back 2ww and IVFs so was pretty heavy by the time I got pg. However, in the whole pg, I only put on one stone, but with the extra stone I already had, it was more like a normal pg weight gain. So, don't despair, if it doesn't come off from morning sickness etc, you would always put some on just as fat reserves, so it may be that your body works out that it's now already got those!

Don't diet, other than cutting out junk food. You must not starve yourself - your little embryo does not want that sort of environment.
Had a total of three fresh IVF cycles and three frozen transfers (embryos and blastocysts)
m/c @ 11 weeks in 2007 DS1 and DS2 born from fresh IVF cycles :D
